Sightseeing at Shiga Kogen During Summer and Autumn
Shiga Kogen is great not only for winter, as shown in the video, but also for hiking/trekking during spring and summer and in autumn when the leaves change color.
There are mountain trails, promenades, and campgrounds so you can enjoy relaxing activities in the great outdoors.
At Shiga Kogen, you'll see natural phenomena related to volcanoes, weather, and water conditions, such as the Jigokudani Hot Springs at Shibutoge which has been designated a national natural monument, or the branches of the deciduous broad-leaf trees that are prone to the formation of rime.
Shiga Kogen is also getting attention as a habitat for animals such as stoats, Asian black bears, Japanese serow, and golden eagles, as well as plants such as beech and oak trees.
At Shiga Kogen, there's also the Prince Hotel and other charming onsen (hot springs) to enjoy. Here we'll list a few of them.
・Kumanoyu Onsen
・Kidoike Onsen
・Kumanoyu Hotaru Onsen
・Shigayama Onsen
・Takamagahara Onsen
・Makuiwa Onsen
・Maruike/Hasuike Onsen
Summary of Shiga Kogen
Shiga Kogen is an attractive tourist spot where you can enjoy different scenery in every season.
