On this day, the gluttonous Kawanishi went to a Japanese confectionery shop again for research!! It's the Sonogetsudo Honpo Fukushima store! But don't you guys notice something in the pictures? Look! Look!!! I'm going to Sonogetsudo, so I'm so excited that I forgot to take a picture of the exterior of the shop. Really, it's the willingness to eat, isn't it? I'm embarrassed... Next time, I'll be sure!
We interviewed Mr. Katagiri, the proprietress of Sonogetsudo Honpo! From the 78th year of its founding (Showa 21), it seems that it was started with the store name before it became Sonogetsudo. At first, it was in front of Kami-suwa Station! Four years later, we expanded our store to Owada, and eight years after that, to Shimizu. Currently, we have opened this Fukushima store in the Shimizu store and 1992 (Heisei 4), and we are offering Japanese sweets at two stores in the city!!
The proprietress's recommendation is the reprinted "Kojo Monaka" and "Kabuto Naka"!! I Restrooms available about 4 types during the process, and I and a lot of them. The proprietress said, "The bean paste is different at each Japanese confectionery shop, so it's interesting to find the one you like!!!" He said, "Recently, the number of foreign customers has gradually increased, and bean paste may be attracting attention because it is lower in calories than cream in Western confectionery."

Today I went to Engetsu-dou Hompo which is Japanese traditional sweets (Wagashi) shop in Suwa city! “Wa” means Japan. “Gashi” means sweets. So, Japanese traditional sweets call Wagashi? They have two shops in Suwa, Shimizu-machi area and Fukujima area. I went to Fukujima location. Don’t you notice about pictures??? Did you? I was focus for Wagashi… That’s why I forgot to take a picture about Engetsu-dou’s exterior… That’s big mistake! Horrible!!! I’m so sorry about that. I’m gluttony. Wagashi was right front of me, I lost from Wagashi’s temptation. So, I forgot took the shop’s exterior photo…
Ms. Katagiri (landlady) introduce her shop and Wagashi. They founded in 1946. About 78 years. The shop was front of Kamisuwa station. They started with the different name of the shop. It became Engetsu-dou in 1950. Shimizu-machi branch opened in 1958. Fukujima branch opened in 1992.
I asked her, “what is your recommendation Wagashi?” She told me Kojou Monaka and Kabuto Monaka. Monaka is a Japanese sweet that is bean‐jam‐filled wafers. Also, she said “You can enjoy Wagashi every season, and each shop has original sweetened red bean paste. So, you can enjoy to find your favorite shop. Now, gradually increasing foreign customers. I think they realized Wagashi is less than calories compare to cake.”

On this day, the gluttonous Kasai visited a Japanese confectionery shop that I had been interested in for a long time!
It is "Koshido" in Suehiro, Suwa City.
We interviewed President Kurita about his story. It is a long-established Japanese confectionery store that has been in business for 99 years since 1925 (Taisho 14)!! The current president seems to be the third generation. It just so happened that five days before I visited, a Local newspaper published an article saying that the hanging paper and stickers of Koshido's Standard products were designed by students of the Local Suwa Industrial High School. Even in the midst of history, I was fascinated by such a flexible place, and I made an appointment.
According to the president, there used to be 60~70 stores in the Suwa City Confectionery Association, and there were Member stores stores in the city alone, but now there are only 17 stores. I wanted to pass on to future generations the culture of Japanese sweets that my ancestors left behind. Restrooms available myself, and I have always liked Japanese sweets. On this day, you can enjoy Japanese sweets in all four seasons
I was able to learn anew!! Sakura mochi and Kashiwa mochi in Spring, peony mochi and hagi in Ohigan, pig mochi and tsutsugayu in autumn... I would like to introduce you to very delicate and delicious Japanese sweets!

In Nov, 9th, I saw article at newspaper about his shop. Suwa jitsugyou high school students designed for his product’s sticker.
He told me, long time ago was 60 – 70 traditional Japanese sweets shop was here in Suwa city. But now are only 17 shops… I think I need to such great tradition to pass down to future generations!!! I didn’t know we can enjoy traditional Japanese sweets each four seasons!!! Can you believe it? It is true!!! In this autumn Dango, Inoko-mochi, Tsutsugayu. Comet Atlas
Did you know that by 10/13~10/26, the comet was seen with the "naked eye" in Japan? The gluttonous Kasai is... I was so focused on my appetite that I forgot about it. Sorry... Then, Mr. F.N., a co-photographer, provided us with a photo. It's a 🌠 very nice photo, I want to take a beautiful picture like this! And I'm happy to be born in a city where you can see such a beautiful scene! I think it's a city we can be proud of!!
Don't you remember that the comet was seen from Tateishi Park? That scene in that movie!! You can see the lake, and the comet is falling... Right! It's that movie! "Your ◯" This is the model of Lake Itomori! It is also rumored to be a "sacred place" that foreign customers can visit. I received a photo of Comet Atlas of Mt. Shigane seen from Tateishi Park, so I will deliver it to you. There is a comet in all of them, so please look for them!
※ Restrooms available with brightness adjustment.
After all, on the day of this shooting, it seems that there were many talented photographers in Tateishi Park! The lens of the camera alone is the price of one light Automobile!!!! The camera is very profound. Even though my wife is angry that I don't use a single-lens reflex camera at all, I will 📷 do my best every day to deliver attractive photos of Suwa to everyone
* Personally, I would appreciate it if you could teach me how to operate the camera (how to shoot fireworks and comets) with the Nikon D series (7100 old Squid Mera, but I love it).
・Tsuchinshan-ATLAS
Did you know, you could see the Tsuchinshan-ATLAS on Oct 13th – Oct 26th? Even on your naked eye. One of my friends gave to us this picture. Filmed by Miss F.N. It’s so beautiful, emotional and fantastic pictures. I'm so proud of my city and truly happy to be born in Suwa!!!
Lake and comet, can you remind famous animation movie? I know you can. ‘Your Name’ right? She gave us some picture. I want to share to you guys these fantastic pictures. All pics show the Tsuchinshan-ATLAS, please find it out!!!
That day, so many cameramen were Tateishi park. One of them told her, this camera lens was about over $6500!!! That’s so amazing!!! It's deeper than it seems… I have Nikon camera (not so expensive but it is so nice camera). I have to study how to take a picture way better than before. I need skill up my technique before my wife got mad to me… Because, I hadn’t used my camera recently. Hey, I know, I need a practice over and over, right?

On this day, while enduring hunger (laughs), I went to a Autumn leaves spot in the city and took a photo in order to deliver "Suwa Autumn leaves Information", which has been receiving many inquiries recently. It was sunny in the morning, but in the afternoon it became cloudy due to my bad Squid. Please forgive me...
The following are my impressions of each Spot, but my personal subjectivity has been included, so I would appreciate your understanding and understanding.
(1) Takashima Castle, Gokoku Shrine ⇒ Ginkgo was not colored at all, but was still lush. I have the impression that the maple has also begun to fade in color.
(2) Around Suwa Lake and Lakeside Park ⇒ I have the impression that it is starting to color little by little, but I feel that it is still a long way off.
(3) Katakurakan ⇒ I have the impression that the Ginkgo is gradually becoming yellowish, but I think it is still a long way off.
(4) Tateishi Park ⇒ This is also the impression that it is starting to color little by little.
It was raining on the 23rd, but the maximum temperature was 23 degrees Celsius. The mornings are also warm, and the maximum temperature is around 20 degrees Celsius this week, and the minimum temperature does not fall below 10 degrees Celsius. I feel that it will be later than every year!
Today, I’ll update to you guys about Suwa city’s Autumn Leaves recent situation. I got some phone call about these types of inquiry. So, I went Suwa Autumn leaves spots in Oct, 22nd!!! That day’ AM was sunny, but I’m unlucky man! PM was so cloud… Please forgive me!!!
*Caution: it is in my opinion please understand it!
1. Takashima Castle and Gokoku Shrine --- Gingko was so green! Just some leave was turning yellow.
2. Lake Suwa and around Kohan Park --- I think 20 - 30% was changing their leaves color to yellow and red.
3. Katakura-kan --- I think 20 - 30% Katakura-kan’s Gingko is gradually changing yellow color.
4. Tateishi Park --- I think same as Katakura-kan, Maples and Cherry blossoms are changing their leaves to red color. (20 - 30%)
Yesterday was rainy in Suwa. But it was 74 degrees Fahrenheit!!! It wasn’t cold, it’s so crazy… Usually in Suwa around November, it is supposed to be under 59 degrees Fahrenheit. I think Suwa Autumn leaves are delay for more than a week compare to usual year.

From Kami-Suwa Station, within a 1km walk along National Route 20, Suwa's Famous Sake Brewery Five Breweries are lined up, and for this day's Events, Suwa 2-chome ~ Former Towns traffic light was made into a pedestrian paradise. The members of the five breweries of Suwa served the famous sake 🍶 that they served with confidence. This year, Japanese cypress became an Events where you can enjoy famous sake with the Aroma of Japanese cypress. The tickets were limited to 3,000 and were so popular that they were sold out on 9/30!!
Since last year, the number of Snacks stalls restaurants in the Local has increased, and there have been stalls by people in the neighboring area!!
On the day of the event, I was a little worried about the weather, but at 11:00 a.m., when the ticket was exchanged, the exchange place was crowded, and the city began to be crowded toward the start of the pedestrian paradise at 12:00, and at 13:00, the start time, there was a line in front of Gozo for the brand I was looking for!! At the opening, after greetings from the mayor of Suwa City City and the president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Standard "Wood Crafting" in Suwa started with a mouthful. After that, the woodcutters walked along the Along the road and responded to requests until 🎶 around 17:00 at the end. From 14:00, Local dancers enlivened the venue. It was impressive that the audience was dancing with them and seemed to be having a lot of fun.
There was also a large line of stalls, yakitori, eel, karaage, bandit grilling, chicken wings, Ghibier dishes, skewers, apple candy, bento shops, french fries, grilled Soba noodles, etc. Not only Sake, but also the Snacks stalls here were also very successful! And what surprised me was the small number of Traditional Japanese straw raincoat. Held in from the standpoint of the organizer, Kami-suwa Station ~ I picked up trash to the back of the venue just before the end, but it seems that there was not much trash on the street. I think it was the result of everyone who participated sorting and throwing it away. As I walked around with the bag, I said, "If you have trash, please put it in this bag!" and several people who came to the venue said, "Wow, that's amazing! Do you even collect trash? Restrooms available." I was so tired that I was called out! I was 😢 very happy
Next time, all the staff will continue to devote themselves so that the customers who come to the venue can be satisfied and fun, so that the local people can understand and cooperate, and so that the city of Suwa can be revitalized.
