Access from popular tourist spots in Hokkaido is also outstanding.
JR Shintoku Station is served by 22 limited express trains a day, about 2 hours from Sapporo, about 1 hour and 45 minutes from New Chitose Airport, about 30 minutes from Tomamu, about 30 minutes from Obihiro, and about 1 hour and 50 minutes from Kushiro.
A train trip to Shintoku Town while looking at the beautiful natural scenery of Hokkaido is recommended.
Shintoku is also a dairy farming town where about six times the number of cows is raised.
Shintoku Town's proud gourmet food is "soba noodles" that are said to be the highest quality in Japan made from locally produced buckwheat flour, and up to 25,000 people come to the "Shintoku New Soba Festival" held every September in search of new soba noodles.
Sightseeing, gastronomy, activities... We will send out information about Shintoku Town, Kamikawa-gun, Hokkaido, which is full of charm, so thank you!

The JTB special train “Tabimonogatari” has arrived!
The JTB “Tabimonogatari” has made a stop here for three consecutive years since Reiwa 5.
This year too, we welcomed guests on the station platform with about 34 minutes of hospitality. 🚃
About 60 guests enjoyed Shintoku soba tea, two kinds of soba-yu (rich soba-yu and dashi-infused soba-yu), and soba karinto, and we sold a limited assortment set.
Afterward, guests took photos on the platform and in front of the station’s photo frame, and enjoyed shopping at the station shop.
More than ten groups posed at the “Soba Red Photo Frame” installed immediately to the left after exiting JR Shintoku Station.
At the station shop, the soba karinto offered for tasting proved so popular that it sold out.
When we spoke with guests returning to the platform, we heard happy remarks like “It was very delicious” and “It goes well with tea,” with people holding soba karinto.
We bade them farewell, hoping they will stop by again next year.
A short announcement.
The “Soba Red Photo Frame” in front of the station is not a face-in panel, but you can pose as if you are eating soba noodles.
If you’re interested, please come visit JR Shintoku Station.💡

Introducing the kiosk inside Shintoku Station, Stella Station
We sell souvenirs from Shintoku Town, drinks, snacks, and more, and we also offer something called a “Children’s Ticket” at the register.
With the tickets we bought, children can exchange them for dagashi (cheap snacks) or drinks.
They are for students up to high school and are handy as a snack before school or outings, or for when mom or dad won’t buy snacks (laughs).
Here’s how the children use it:
First they draw a ticket fortune (omikuji),
then exchange it for a ticket,
choose dagashi and drinks up to the amount shown on the ticket,
and have the staff at the kiosk confirm the total is within the limit.
Finally, the children write a thank-you message.
These messages are displayed densely under the Stella Station sign, so please take a look.
Watching this, I noticed some kids giving a piece of candy to friends with smaller amounts or pooling tickets with friends to get snacks together, and I was impressed by their friendship and thoughtfulness.
Seeing the children, I bought a ticket with the coins in my wallet.
I felt like I’d done a small good deed (laughs).
This lovely initiative is happening inside Shintoku Station,
so if you’re interested in it,
if you’re looking for souvenirs in Shintoku,
or even if you just want to kill time while waiting for a train,
come and drop by—any reason is fine.

2025 Shintoku Town cherry blossoms
Mt. Shintoku Shrine is a famous cherry blossom spot, but the cherry trees blooming along the town’s riverbanks and in its parks are also very beautiful.
The town’s cherry trees are swaying in the wind and their petals are gradually falling.
However, the cherry trees toward Kutcharo are now in full bloom and at their best.
Although the weekend sadly looks cloudy and rainy ☁️☔️, why not come and enjoy a drive while viewing Mt. Shintoku Shrine’s blossoms, strolling among the town’s cherry trees, or exploring the cherry trees around Kutcharo?
We also offer rental bicycles and rental cars, so feel free to contact us 💁♀️
Wishing everyone a wonderful day today as well 🌸

Introducing the town’s only working space.
Facing the street in front of JR Shintoku Station, the landmark is Soma Shoten with a wood-rich exterior and large windows.
Soma Shoten
@419soma419
This long-established shop, founded 119 years ago, sells books and stationery.
You can also buy local products in a variety of categories.
From late May through late October,
the shop hosts a farm-fresh vegetable stall. Local farmers bring freshly harvested, seasonal produce every morning.
@ekivege
↑ Here is information about Soma Shoten’s vegetable stall.
The working space is located inside the shop on the left after you enter.
It isn’t like a private room, so we were told it might not be ideal for web meetings,
but it offers a bright, open area with pleasant background music where you can do writing and other desk work.
*Please note that events are sometimes held in the shop, so call ahead if you wish to use the space.*
☎ 0156-64-5055
If you want to play hard in Shintoku Town and then get down to work, please make use of Soma Shoten’s working space.

Thank you very much for waiting!
We will begin the light-up tonight, May 2.🔦
6:00 PM–10:00 PM
The period will be determined based on when the blossoms fall.
Since temperatures are still low, please bring warm clothing when you visit.💁♀️
Approximately 2,300 Ezo-yamazakura cherry trees on Mt. Shintoku Shrine will be lit from the shrine office area up the steps toward the precincts and around the shrine grounds.
Mt. Shintoku Shrine is one of the prefecture’s premier cherry-viewing spots.
@shintokujinja
When in full bloom, the view is truly impressive!
* The event period may shift slightly depending on the timing of petal fall.
Please check @welcome_shintoku on social media before coming.
* To avoid stressing the flowers, we use LED floodlights for an environmentally considerate illumination.
We look forward to your visit.🌸
