Mihama’s saba heshiko and midi tomatoes have been selected for Zojirushi’s onigiri specialty shop at the Osaka-Kansai Expo!
At Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Zojirushi Mahobin Co., Ltd. will operate a booth in the pavilion of the Osaka Food Service Industry Association, selling onigiri made with rice cooked in their own rice cookers.
From Wednesday, June 11 to Tuesday, July 15, 2025, onigiri representing the Tokai and Hokuriku regions will feature a Fukui specialty. For those fillings, Mihama Town’s saba heshiko and midi tomatoes have been chosen.

From Saturday, May 10 to Sunday, July 13, the Wakasa Kuniyoshi Castle Historical Museum presents an exhibition titled "Wandering Wakasa in the Early Meiji Period: The Surprisingly Little-Known Formation of Fukui Prefecture."
After the abolition of the han system and the establishment of prefectures, Wakasa took a winding historical path before becoming part of present-day Fukui Prefecture. This exhibition looks back on the circumstances that led to Wakasa's integration into Fukui.

The “2025 Kiipas Satsuki Festival” will take place on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at the Mihama Town Energy and Environmental Education Experience Center “Kiipas”.
Experience booths run by elementary, junior high, and high school students from across the prefecture, along with fun demonstrations and exhibits from local companies, will be on display. The Gokoichi Bus is running again this year!!
In 2025, the Gokoichi Bus will operate on weekends and public holidays only from Saturday, April 26 through Monday, November 24.
The route makes a loop from Tsuruga Station to Mihama Station to Hamacho Lake Center to Rainbow Line to Jomon Roman Park to Mikata Station to Mihama Station and back to Tsuruga Station.
(Some services start from Mihama Station and some terminate at Mihama Station.)
Changes from last year:
· There is no service to Kumagawa-juku.
· There will be no weekday service during Golden Week.
Also, service during Obon is limited to weekends and public holidays only.
