This sightseeing boat operates on Mikata Five Lakes, a wetland registered under the Ramsar Convention, and uses no heavy oil or similar fuels to protect the environment.
Power generated by the facility’s solar panels is stored in onboard lithium-ion secondary batteries (about 300 kWh) to run the vessel. The boat is very quiet, and the leisurely 50-minute cruise across calm waters lets you enjoy the rich nature of Mikata Five Lakes.
The basic route departs from Lake Kugushi, passes through the Urami River, and circles Lake Suigetsu on an approximately 50-minute course. Onboard guides introduce points of interest and explain how the sightseeing boat works, making it a place for learning about nature and energy.
