Sagaki Kuniyoshi Castle 1. The fortified castle that stopped the invasion of the "impregnable" Asakura forces 2. The "stone wall castle" that appeared in the excavation 3. "The colors of the Ruins of the Castle" in the four seasons and the "Superb view of Wakasa" seen from the Ruins of the Castle Kuniyoshi Castle was a mountain castle located in "Sagaki" in the eastern part of Mihama Town, and during the Sengoku period, it was a "border castle" that protected the border between Wakasa and Tsuruga provinces. It is said that Awaya Koshinaka Morikatsuhisa, a heavy retainer of the Wakasa Province guardian daimyō Takeda, Use the old castle in the 2nd year of Koji (1556). The Battle of Kuniyoshi Castle, which made Kuniyoshi Castle famous for its bravery, began in the 6th year of Eiroku (1563) when the invasion of the Echizen Asakura clan was repelled, and until the first year of Tensho (1573), when the Asakura clan was destroyed, the Awaya forces stood at Kuniyoshi Castle to welcome the Asakura forces that attacked almost every year, and the castle never fell. Scene of this battle was circulated in the old story of Tanabe Hantao Yasuji, a local samurai who participated in the Awaya faction, as a military record "Kuniyoshi Basket Castle". By the way, the castle was called "Sagaki Castle" at that time, but "Kuniyoshi Castle" became established due to the spread of "Kuniyoshi Castle". In the first year of Motogame (1570), he welcomed an army of 30,000 men led by Oda Nobunaga to attack the Asakura clan. Nobunaga, who entered Kuniyoshi Castle with Kinoshita Tokichiro (Toyotomi Hideyoshi), Tokugawa Ieyasu, and Akechi Mitsuhide, the protagonist of this year's taiga drama, had an audience with Katsuhisa and the local samurai who fought the siege battle, and praised them, according to the Kuniyoshi Castle Chronicle. Later, in the 11th year of Tensho (1583), a vassal of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Ki Village Hitachisuke, became the lord of the castle and opened a Castle Town. Restrooms available is the Origin of the current Sagaki Village, and in the Edo period it prospered as a Shukuba on the Tango Highway. Like the Town, the appearance of that time remains strong. The castle was abandoned in the 11th year of Kanei (1635) in the first half of the Edo period when Sakai Tadakatsu replaced the Kyogoku clan as the lord of the Obama domain, and the Sagaki Town Magistrate's Office was built in the south of Ruins of the Castle instead. On the site, the Wakasa Kuniyoshi Castle History Museum opened in 2009 (Heisei 21). Designated as a Towns Historic Site in 1983 (Showa 58) (1983), in order to preserve and utilize the Kuniyoshi Castle Ruins, which is a local historical heritage, excavations that began in 2000 (Heisei 12) (2000) It was thought that the Sengoku period mountain castle that repelled the onslaught of the Asakura forces would remain as it was, but as a result of the survey, a large group of foundation stone buildings and a stone wall showing the traces of a destroyed castle that uniformly collapsed the upper half and buried the lower half, The huge foundation stone and mirror stone of the northwest Toraguchi of the Yamagami Honmaru, and the remains of a building (castle tower?) on the earthen altar in the south corner of the Honmaru were discovered, greatly overturning the image of Kuniyoshi Castle. These remains are thought to be the result of a major renovation by the Toyotomi daimyo Village Hitachisuke to show off the power of the new lord, but they did not Restrooms available Documents. It is the "truth" that has only been revealed through excavations. 2017 (Heisei 29) (2017), it was selected as a "One of the 100 best castles in Japan" by the Japan Castle Association, and in the Spring, it welcomes many Visiting the site while showing the colors of the four seasons, such as the cherry blossoms and butterfly flower Ruins of the Castle that bloom in the Castle Town persimmons, the semi-summer clusters where the leaves are dyed white in summer, the Autumn leaves of Seirenji Temple and Tokushoji Temple in autumn, and the silver world in winter. Promenade is maintenance up to the main maru, but there is no end in sight on the 99-turn slope, and you will actually feel "impregnable". However, when you finally reach the Ruins of Honmaru, the majestic Nature and beautiful scenery of Wakasa will welcome you and make you forget all the hardships you have had so far. Cherry blossoms and Himeji Castle Himeji Castle is also known as White Heron Castle, a castle located in Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture. Major buildings such as castle towers and turrets built in the Edo period still exist, and are registered as national treasures, important cultural properties, and UNESCO World Heritage Lists. I visited Himeji Castle when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom, The photo was taken from the restaurant in the building. I tried to make it a panoramic style, and when you look at it like this, it is quite wide. Cherry blossoms and egret castle are the best match.

Azuchi Castle Ruins It is Azuchi Castle, which Oda Nobunaga built as a base for the unification of the world and made it his own residence. It was destroyed by fire shortly after Nobunaga's death. It is a paving stone that remains in the ruins of the castle tower of Azuchi Castle. Is it because of the raging fire that it is turning red? I remember wiping my sweat off the steep slope with high steps, and the rain-soaked shore of Lake Biwa, which Nobunaga must have seen, was also impressive. Anyway, I saw "The Dream of the Strong" and felt the impermanence of all things.

Two Ryukyu kings sleep in "Urasoe Yodo" / Urasoe Ruins of the Castle It is "Urasoe Yodo" in Urasoe City, Okinawa Prefecture. Here is the tomb where the two Ryukyu kings are buried on the rock wall of Urasoe Ruins of the Castle. It was devastated in the Battle of Okinawa, but was restored in 2005 (Heisei 17). "Yodo" is a Ryukyu word for "yunagi" and means when the evening waves and breezes calm down. By the way, Urasoe Castle is a castle that was burned down during the invasion of the Ryukyus by the Satsuma army in 1609. Next to this Urasoe Yodo (in the back of the photo) is Hacksaw Ridge. Now it is covered with trees and looks gentle, but at that time it was a place where fierce fighting was fought on the cliffs.

Maeda Kochi / Urasoe, the setting of the movie Hacksaw Ridge / Urasoe Ruins of the Castle Have you ever heard of the movie "Hacksaw Ridge"? The movie is based on the true story of saving many wounded soldiers without weapons during the Battle of Okinawa. The actual location that took place was Maeda Highland (Urasoe Ruins of the Castle) in Urasoe City, Okinawa Prefecture. Rice troops who landed from the Coast of Chatan Town in April 1945 had this Maeda Highland on their way to Shuri, where the Japanese headquarters was located. This area is a precipitous cliff, which is faithfully reproduced in the movie, but it is not depicted that many residents were also sacrificed here. It was a place where there was a fierce battle, but now it is a calm park with a very nice view. Please stop by when you are nearby.

Shuri Castle Park and Shuri Castle under restoration / Shuri Castle is said to have been built around the end of the 14th century by the first king of the Ryukyu Kingdom, Shohashi. It is a unique mixture of Chinese, Japanese and Okinawan cultures. In fact, Shuri Castle was burned down three times during the Ryukyu Kingdom, the Battle of Okinawa and this time, for a total of five times. However, it has been preserved with the passion of the people. I think Shuri Castle is a symbol of Okinawa. I Can't wait to see it again ^^ It is scheduled to be completed in 2026.

Shuri Castle main hall under restoration / Visiting the site inside the bare roof I saw the restoration work of the main hall of Shuri Castle, which was destroyed by fire in October 2019, because it is a special Opening to the public and you can Visiting the site during the period. The craftsmen of the palace carpenter are working hard to rebuild. But it was a pity that I couldn't see the craftsmanship because it was a Sunday. Okinawa has many typhoons, and construction is carried out in a temporary building called a "bare roof" to prevent rain and wind. The main hall is completely covered, so it's very big ^^ This is the face of the main hall of Shuri Castle, which is being restored in the center of the temple. I'm looking forward to seeing a dragon on top of this. It is scheduled to be completed in 2026.

Shuri Castle main hall under restoration / In October 2019, Shuri Castle burned down overnight. Currently, construction work is being carried out in this temporary building called "bare roof" for reconstruction. There are many typhoons in Okinawa, so we work to prevent rain and wind. I remember when I saw Shuri Castle burning on TV in the middle of the night, I couldn't believe it was real and didn't say anything、、、 it's been about four and a half years since then, and I'm steadily rebuilding it. The place where I am photographing is called "Azuma no Azana" (A Gari no Azana), and it is a viewing platform located on the easternmost side of Shuri Castle Park and at the highest Elevation. From here, you can panoramic the cityscape of Shuri, the East China Sea, and the city of Naha. Shuri Castle seen from here will be on the back side, but I'm looking forward to its majestic appearance again ^ ^

The World Heritage Site "Sonohiya Takemitake Stone Gate" is a prayer gate / I went to Shuri Castle in Shuri, Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture. As soon as you pass through the gate of Morirei, you will find the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Sonohiya Takemitake Stone Gate. It is a gate built in 1519 and is used as a place of worship for the royal family, and it is said that when the king went out from Shuri Castle, he prayed for safety on the way at this stone gate. This gate is not a gate for people to pass through, but a sanctuary spreads out behind the stone gate and is a place to pray. The stone gate was destroyed during the Battle of Okinawa, but was restored in 1957. Most of Okinawa's valuable buildings have been destroyed in the war. A precious heritage to protect!

Matsumoto Castle, one of Japan's oldest castles, is famous for its unique black exterior. Located in Matsumoto City for over 400 years, it houses a remarkable collection of weapons and armor from the Warring States Period. Despite never witnessing battle, it's a must-visit in Nagano Prefecture, especially during twilight hours for a peaceful experience. The sight of swans on the moat against the castle and the blueish-purple horizon is unforgettable.

Oshi Castle, located in Gyoda City, Saitama Prefecture, has a rich history dating back to the late 15th century. Despite facing numerous attacks, this formidable castle never succumbed. While the original structure no longer stands, visitors can still witness the earthen foundation of the main castle, the towering stone walls, the Korai Gate, and other fascinating ruins. The reconstructed "Three-storied Tower" from the Edo Period now houses captivating exhibits, offering visitors a glimpse into the past. Ascend to the observation room on the highest floor for a breathtaking view of Gyoda City. My visit at twilight revealed an eerily silent and empty atmosphere, evoking the enchanting aura of this ancient site.

When I went to Takashima Castle around Golden Week, students from a local junior high school came to sketch Takashima Castle. When I went near the wisteria flowers, there was a very sweet and wonderful scent in the air. Before I knew it, bees and black bees were ? coming to take nectar ~ Even as a human, it was a wonderful scent that attracted me!! I don't know why the demons of Demon Slayer don't like this wonderful flower www I think it's a wonderful flower. A shot from under the wisteria ledge is recommended!! I didn't know that wisteria flowers were blooming in the pond even though I was a local. I'm sorry, Mr. Takashimajo. When I looked at the whole wisteria flower on this day, I thought that it would bloom for seven minutes today to the untrained eye! On the premises, there is a rare Gokoku Shrine ⛩ in Japan that resembles the construction of Suwa Grand Shrine. There seems to be a rare sculpture. Every year, I think it's about Golden Week, but it's very beautiful and you can see it. The castle, the park, and the wisteria flowers are waiting ? for you next year, so please come!
