From Saturday, May 10 to Sunday, July 13, the Wakasa Kuniyoshi Castle Historical Museum presents an exhibition titled "Wandering Wakasa in the Early Meiji Period: The Surprisingly Little-Known Formation of Fukui Prefecture."
After the abolition of the han system and the establishment of prefectures, Wakasa took a winding historical path before becoming part of present-day Fukui Prefecture. This exhibition looks back on the circumstances that led to Wakasa's integration into Fukui.
