How Rice Crackers Saved Chiba's Choshi Railway! A Look at the Unique Idea That Transcended the Bounds of a Railroad Company to Overcome a Business Crisis!

President Takemoto Katsunori, Who Saved Choshi Railway The video "Local Line Protected by Creativity: The Struggle of the President of Choshi Dentetsu" (発想力で守るローカル線 銚子電鉄社長の奮闘) was uploaded by "Nikkei." The Choshi Electric Railway, which is only 6.4 kilometers long, runs on the east side of the Kanto region and is famous for its unique events, such as the "Ghost Train" and its moist rice crackers. President Katsunori Takemoto, a former tax accountant, utilized his ingenuity to protect the Choshi Railway, which serves as the main form of transportation in the area. What is the Choshi Railway? Photo:Choshi Railway・Tokawa Station Choshi Railway (Choshi Dentetsu), Choden for short, is a train that connects Choshi Station and Tokawa Station in Chiba. The entire line is in Choshi City, and it passes through the easternmost part of the city, near Cape Inubō (犬吠埼, Inubōsaki). Including its predecessor, Choshi Yuran Railway, the railway has a history of more than 100 years. The trains were acquired from major private railroads, and some of them are more than 50 years old. The railway has been in danger of being abandoned many times due to poor performance. Although it is difficult to run the train due to the decreasing population, the management is partly supported by the sale of snacks such as "mazui bo" and wet rice crackers. These wet crackers have generated more than twice the profit of the Choshi Railway, and President Katsunori Takemoto says "the Choshi Railway is a cracker shop" at an interview at 0:56 in the video. You can see crackers being baked at 1:09 in the video. The Brilliant Idea of President Takemoto Katsunori Source :YouTube screenshot President Katsunori Takemoto became the electric railway's tax advisor while also performing conductor duties. His innovations, such as naming rights for event trains and stations, were also successful. The selling of naming rights wasn’t limited to short sighted planning either; it was also to attract companies that were committed to rebuilding the Choshi Railway's management and contributing to the community as owners. Examples include "Never Give Up" Choshi Station (絶対にあきらめない銚子駅), "Roswell" Kimigahama Station (ロズウェル君ヶ浜駅) and "Thank you" Tokawa Station (ありがとう外川駅). In this way, the Choshi Railway has been contributing to society and the region as a hub of the local economy. In recent years, they have released various characters under the anthropomorphic railcar project "Loco MOTION," and a superhero named "Chodenjin Go Gusher" was also created. The Rice Crackers That Saved Choshi Railway Source :YouTube screenshot In 1989, the Choshi Railway was threatened with closure due to a decline in population. In 1998, they started selling moist rice crackers, surpassing earnings from the railway's main business. This was picked up by many media outlets and was the talk of the town at the time. Unfortunately, in 2004, the company took on the debt of the president at that time and began to decline once again. However, rice crackers came to the rescue once again, pulling the railway out of a crisis. The online sales of rice crackers, which were not doing well at the moment, were replaced with crackers that said "Please buy me, I have to earn money to repair the trains." Fans responded to the cry for help, and the railway was able to dodge yet another bullet. Incidentally, the rice crackers, popular survival masks, scarves, and other original Choshi Dentetsu goods are also available by mail order, so please visit the online shop on their website if you're interested. Summary of Choshi Dentetsu's Rice Crackers Photo:Choshi Railway Did you enjoy reading about the innovation of Choshi Dentetsu and their rice crackers? Taking a ride on the quaint railway may make you feel like you're on a sightseeing trip to a far-away land. A movie depicting the history of the Choshi Railway was released in winter 2019 as well. The Nissan GT-R This video is a promotional video of Nissan's GT-R, titled "Nissan introduces GT-R in Hong Kong." It was published by Nissan. The video was produced to celebrate Nissan's introduction of the 2018 GT-R R35 to Hong Kong. Skyline GT-R is highly popular all around the world. This promotional video shows the excitement brought about by the arrival of the latest model, which many people admire, in Hong Kong. In this article, we will introduce the appeal of the Nissan Skyline GT-R alongside the video. The Skyline GT-R Photo:Nissan The Skyline GT-R is a luxury sports car produced and sold by Nissan. The GT-R is the highest grade of Skyline produced for racing. The one shown in the video is the R35 GT-R, which was introduced to Hong Kong starting with the 2018 model. Starting with the R35 model, the "Skyline" crown has been removed and it's now the "GT-R." It's an ultra-luxury car with a price tag of over ¥10 million (~$95,000 USD), but it's one of the most popular cars in the world. Apart from the newest model, the R35, other popular models from the past, including the R32 at the beginning of the video, the R33NISMO400R at 0:28, and the R34V Spec II Nur at 0:41, are also featured in the video. The history of the GT-R dates back to the 15th Tokyo Motor Show in 1968, when the Skyline GT Racing version, a successor to the Prince Skyline 2000 GT-B, which had been active in touring car racing, was exhibited as a concept car with a Skyline 2000 GT-B body and an in-line 6-cylinder DOH engine. In 1969, the first Skyline GT-R was made commercially available based on these specifications. It has a distinctive appearance with four round tail lights. The Skyline GT-R has also been known as "Hakosuka," "Kenmeri," "R," and "Suka G-R" (in Japan). Many people were captivated by the Skyline GT-R, customizing and modifying it to their own tastes. Today, the GT-R is sold at specialty GT-R shops. Since it's a high-octane gasoline car, its fuel consumption is poor and its maintenance costs are high. However, the tires last longer than ever before and the oil change costs are slightly lower, making the car more affordable than when it debuted. The Appeal of the Skyline GT-R Photo:Nissan GTR The Nissan Skyline GT-R is one of Japan's most iconic high-performance cars. It features a dedicated engine and equipment built to maximize its power in auto racing. The R32, which debuted in 1989, is one of the most popular cars in the GT-R series, with used cars being sold abroad often. The R32 was created as the culmination of Nissan's technology, with the goal of creating a car that could win the All Japan Touring Car Championship. It was equipped with a twin-turbo RB26DETT engine and entered the All Japan Touring Car Championship in 1990. Its design gives off a proud aura and has a charm that draws you in. The Ford Sierra RS500 also participated in the championship, but the R32 was overwhelmingly fast, lapping other cars for the win. The R32 was a first-class car in terms of design, features and equipment, and its subsequent models were also built without any major changes to the design concept or basic engine settings. Summary of the Skyline GT-R Source :YouTube screenshot "Nissan introduces GT-R in Hong Kong," published by Nissan, is a video that introduces the appeal of the Nissan Skyline GT-R. It's a must-see for car fanatics as you can get a close up look at the popular GT-R series. You can also see the Skyline R32 GT-R, Skyline R33 GT-R, Skyline R34 GT-R, and other famous cars of the past. The crew members cosplay as ninjas, and at 1:04 in the video, you can see the local Mascot greeting tourists at the station. It's well received by children and foreigners. The JR Kusatsu Line has direct service from Kyoto Station in the morning and evening, so transportation access is excellent! However, the SHINOBI-TRAIN schedule is irregular and rare, so check the timetable on the official JR Kusatsu Line website for details. -

A Fusion of Sports Bike and Japanese Steel - The Pride of Suzuki Motor This video, titled "KATANA official promotional video : FEEL THE EDGE | Suzuki," is an introductory video of the famous motorcycle "KATANA," produced by the world renown automobile and motorcycle manufacturer, Suzuki. At 0:07 in the video, we're greeted by the flames of a forge and a hammer striking steel. Shortly after, the beautiful design of Japanese sword appears. This is followed by a series of fast-paced scenes in which a samurai wearing a visor makes a powerful slash, creating the sharp edges of Suzuki's "Katana." At 1:32, in the video, the samurai transforms into the rider, racing down the track on the KATANA. It's a very cool video, reminiscent of a samurai riding full speed into battle. About Suzuki's KATANA Photo:Suzuki Motorcycle The KATANA, a masterpiece of a motorcycle possessing Suzuki's own sharp and aggressive form, was born in 1981, some 40 years ago. At that time, its unparalleled sharp design captured the hearts of riders and spawned a loyal following. The first classic KATANA type was the GXS110, a prototype with a cowling that was announced at the 1980 motor show in Germany. At that time, opinions on the radical design with a motif of a Japanese sword were divided, and it was said that it would never be mass-produced with such a design. However, mass production of the old KATANA began in 1981, with only the 1100cc variant being released. But its popularity grew and it was made into a series of 750cc, 400cc, and 250cc variants. The development was temporarily discontinued in 2000, but the older models are still incredibly popular to this day, and used and custom bikes are sold at high prices. The GSX250SS KATANA, a faithful reproduction of the first KATANA released in 1991, is said to be the most popular of the successive generations that have been released. More About the Latest KATANA Source :YouTube screenshot In 2019, Suzuki announced the long awaited production of a new model KATANA. Prior to this, the KATANA 3.0, a prototype of the new bike, was unveiled at the EICMA 2017 Milan show and generated a lot of buzz among bikers. Suzuki’s flagship model, Suzuki Naked, is used in the new KATANA’s engine. It also has a full LCD-type multi-function display, which improves the visibility and operability of the fuel consumption gauge and speedometer. The new supersport bike has a more distinctive appearance with a sharper cowling than the KATANA of yesteryear. Summary of Suzuki’s New KATANA Source :YouTube screenshot The new KATANA was launched in 2019 to the delight of many motoring enthusiasts, and thanks to improvements to the engine and suspension, it takes less time to reach top speed. The new Katana's design is sharper and more ambitious than ever before, and it's sure to attract both old fans and newcomers to the bike. The new KATANA will be available in one model and two colors, with prices starting at 1,540,000 yen. For more information, check out Suzuki's official website. If you haven't yet, be sure to check out the video to see the sharp design of Suzuki's "KATANA." 【Official Website】KATANA Special website | Suzuki motorcycle https://www1.suzuki.co.jp/motor/katana-sp/index.html -

The No. 1 Itasha Event in Japan! Cute Cosplayers and Cars Covered in Anime Wraps at Itasha Heaven!
Transportation Festivals & Events- 479 plays

Introducing Itasha! Have you ever heard the word "Itasha"? In this article, we'll introduce the Japanese pop culture "Itasha" alongside the video, titled "OTAKU CAR HEAVEN 痛車天国2019," produced by "Rescue the Princess!" The video is an introduction to the Itasha event "Odaiba Itasha Heaven 2019" held at the Odaiba outdoor special venue in 2019. Itasha is a form of otaku culture, and is a car with an exterior designed with an anime or game theme, featuring beautiful girl characters or heroines. The name "Itasha" (痛車) comes from the characters "痛" (pain) and "車" (car), literally meaning "painful car," as some people find them painful to look at. Source :YouTube screenshot There are small itasha with stickers on the hood, doors and other parts of the body, as well as fully-wrapped cars with film affixed to the entire car. You can see a number of Itasha throughout the video. In the past, "otaku" culture used to have a somewhat negative image, but now, with the popularity of Japanese anime and manga overseas, "otaku" are respected as authorities and professionals in their field. Fully-wrapped vehicles and airplanes have also appeared in public transit agencies such as airplanes, trains, buses, and motorcycles, and they are very popular with young children and in the otaku community. These vehicles, which are derived from the Itasha and wrapped with characters, are called "Itansha" (motorcycles) and "Itadensha" (trains). In addition to Itasha, you can see a custom bicycle (Itacheri) at 0:22 and a scooter bike (Itansha) at 1:02 in the video. Making Itasha Source :YouTube screenshot Since Itasha designs are based on characters that appear in other works, they are copyrighted. However, since the character Hatsune Miku, which often appears in videos, is a free license, there is no copyright issue if you design your own vehicle with Hatsune Miku. Also, each vehicle can be designed however the owner wants it to be, but if you're a hardcore otaku, you can make your own design with paint and cutting sheets. Recently there are even companies that specialize in Itasha design. Even if you're not an otaku, you can just get a professional to do it for you. In some cases, companies produce itasha by advertising and collaboration, and collaboration itasha, such as Evangelion and Re:Zero, (Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World) were also a hot topic. As for Shinkansen, there is an Evangelion train called "Type EVA" vehicle, and the interior even uses the colors of Evangelion's first mech. Some manufacturers have asked for image collaborations with luxury cars for popular works. In particular, anime and games such as Gundam, Macross, and Super Mario prove the importance of Japanese culture through Itasha. Event Information and Summary of Odaiba Itasha Heaven 2019 Source :YouTube screenshot This video shows cosplay models in a variety of poses, dressed in gorgeous cosplay to add to the appeal of the Itasha. As you can see from 3:21 in the video, there's also a talk show with songs and voice actors on the event stage, so you can see that this isn't just an event to look at the cars. More than 1,000 Itasha participated in the event, the largest of its kind in Japan, in Odaiba that day. Otaku culture, which originated in Akihabara, has now taken off from Japan and is attracting attention around the world. In other words, Itasha Heaven is the largest exhibition of Itasha in the world. As long as there is anime and manga culture in Japan, so too will there be an Itasha culture! Itasha are also known as "Moesha" (cute cars) among otaku, and to otaku "cute" is justice! -

The Gleaming Golden Pirate Ship “Queen Ashinoko” This time we'll be introducing the construction process of the Queen Ashinoko. The video "Queen Ashinoko's Construction From Start to Finish" (クイーン芦ノ湖」の製造過程動画「クイーン芦ノ湖ができるまで」), was released by "Hakone Pirate Ship Hakone Sightseeing Cruise (Official)." The Queen Ashinoko is the 3rd pirate ship that is in service on Hakone's largest lake, Lake Ashinoko. Hakone is a hot spring resort area representing East Japan, and the area is full of tourists year round. However, the appeal of Hakone is not just the hot springs. Going for a cruise on Lake Ashinoko is also one of the major attractions of sightseeing in Hakone, and, as shown in the footage, in 2019, the 3rd pirate ship "Queen Ashinoko" went into service. It has a gleaming golden hull and the design, with its luxurious and classic interior using wood, has become widely talked about and is already very popular. You can see the appearance of the beautiful hull at 4:57 during its commencement ceremony. The Queen Ashinoko was named after a pirate ship, and was designed as a tourist ship of luxury and elegance, with the concept of "from a ship that fights to a ship that prays for peace..."On the bow is a statue of Nike of Samothrace, which is exhibited at the Louvre Museum. It is designed as a luxurious and elegant sightseeing ship. In order to make use of the classical design as a pirate ship, Dawn Design Institute was asked to undertake the basic design; and as shown at 0:35 in the video, Mr. Eiji Mitooka, who served as the industrial designer, says that he was very particular about pursuing a sense of fun, comfort, and luxuriousness from the customer’s point of view. Building the Pirate Ship and How It Was Transported Source :YouTube screenshot Typically, shipyards are located by the sea. Even ships like Queen Ashinoko, that are located in the mountains are built near the sea. In fact, Queen Ashinoko was built at a shipyard in Tsurumi, Yokohama, in Kanagawa Prefecture. But then how was such a massive ship like the Queen Ashinoko brought to Hakone? Well actually, the basic manufacturing of the frame and exterior was done at the shipyard, and then the hull was disassembled into 10 blocks and transported to Hakone by land. You can see the transport at 1:30 in the video. After being transported to Hakone in a large trailer, the Queen Ashinoko was assembled at the owner's company's dock, and then the finishing touches of painting and interior work were done, and finally it was completed. The actual assembly process is shown at 2:37 in the video. You can see that the entire process, including the golden paint job, is carried out by shipbuilding specialists. The wooden interior design was designed by computer and laser engraved for a beautiful finish. Queen Ashinoko is the first ship in Japan to have a laser-engraved interior design using computer graphics. The Launch Ceremony in April 2019! Source :YouTube screenshot Watching the launch ceremony for a ship is quite an awesome experience. You can see a shiny new ship entering the water at Togendai Port at around 4:00 in the video, and there are scenes of many people celebrating at the inauguration ceremony and actual passengers on board at the time of the launch. Summary of the Queen Ashinoko Photo:Mt. Fuji from Lake Ashinoko The tour course of the Hakone pirate ships (Royal II, Victory, Queen Ashinoko) is an approximately 1-hour cruise that goes from Hakonemachi Port → Moto Hakone Port (Hakone Shrine) → Togendai Port → Hakonemachi Port. In this MO-SPO Festival, one category in particular is grabbing peoples’ attention: the godly performance by the shiro-bai police officers. Firstly, take a look at the video to see the awesome techniques of the shiro-bai police officers that protect Japan. More About Japan's Shiro-bai Photo:Shiro-bai and police officers In Japan, since 1918 (when shiro-bai (white motorcyles) were first introduced to the metropolitan police department), police officers have used shiro-bai to enforce traffic regulations. In addition to traffic regulation enforcement and patrols, shiro-bai is used as a leading vehicle in marathons and long-distance relay races. The shiro-bai at the imperial guard headquarters however, is used exclusively to escort and protect important figures. The shiro-bai has various equipment such as a “speed-measuring indicator” that measures the speed of vehicles exceeding the posted speed limit. Some other features of the shiro-bai is a siren and a speaker used for voicing warnings. Training and Improving Shiro-bai Techniques Photo:Shiro-bai and police officer Shiro-bai police officers belong to the Traffic Police Force and gain the right to be trained to ride a shiro-bai only after they have passed the required examinations. The Traffic Police Force devote tremendous effort to their shiro-bai training in order to prevent accidents. The large motorcycle used as a shiro-bai is very big. In order to drive freely on public roads, police officers repeatedly undergo training such as figure eight runs and wheelie tests in addition to daily practice routines such as acceleration and corner turning. The "CB750F" Shiro-bai Photo:Shiro-bai Honda’s CB750F is one type of shiro-bai used by the Japanese police. The CB750F used by the Traffic Police Force is highly popular among motorcycle fans and is the focus of many MO-SPO Festivals. As you can see in the video, their performance in the MO-SPO Festival is very graceful and thrilling to watch. Check Out the Various Performances Shown in the Video Source :YouTube screenshot At the start of the video, you can see 6 shiro-bai chasing a single motorcycle fleeing at high speed. They finish going around the HSR Kyushu course, the venue of the MO-SPO Festival, in an instant, and arrest the mischievous runaway driver in front of the audience. You can observe the arrest from 1:00 in the video. Next, we see the graceful performances of the shiro-bai from 2:11 in the video. In the figure eight run, they brilliantly control the large motorbike, showing off incredible techniques such as wheelies and exciting the crowd. The Sagano Romantic Train Running Between Sagano, Kyoto and Kameoka This video, titled "Sagano Romantic Train [4K] Feel the Pale Pink of Spring on the Sagano Romantic Train" (嵯峨野観光鉄道【4K】薄桃色の春を散らしながら走るトロッコ列車), was created by "eo official." It introduces the Sagano Romantic Train that runs through the beautiful cherry blossom of Hozukyo, Kyoto. The Sagano Romantic Train is a small, simple, red and black sightseeing train that runs at a speed of about 25 km/h. Because it moves slow, you can enjoy the seasonal views along the Hozu River (保津川, Hozugawa) making it one of the most popular tourist spots in Kyoto. In this article, we'll introduce the history of the Sagano Romantic Train, as well as tourist information, alongside the video. Before reading on, we recommend taking a look at the beautiful, windowless, open carriage Sagano Romantic Train "Sagano Rich" that runs through Hozukyo Gorge in spring. What is the Sagano Romantic Train? Photo:The Sagano Romantic Train, Arashiyama, Kyoto The Sagano Romantic Train was opened in 1991 after the JR Sanin Line, which was no longer in use, was converted to a double track. Since then, it has been a popular sightseeing train in Kyoto, where you can enjoy the magnificent views of the Hozu River valley in all four seasons, including cherry blossoms, fresh greenery, autumn leaves, and winter scenery, as well as the unusual rocks of the Hozu River, such as Magoroku Rock, Lion Rock and Frog Rock. Sagano Romantic Train "Sagano Rich," an open carriage with no windows, is especially popular because the seats are made of wooden chairs, and you can enjoy the nostalgic atmosphere of the train car and the surrounding scenery while feeling the breeze. You can see the inside of the train at 1:00 in the video. Recommended sightseeing course of Sagano Torokko train Photo:Togetsukyo Bridge, Arashiyama, Kyoto The Sagano Romantic Train runs from Saga Torokko Station to Kameoka Torokko Station, with Hozukyo Torokko Station and Arashiyama Torokko Station along the way. JR Sugano Station and Saga Torokko Station are next to one other, so we recommend getting on a train to Kameoka Torokko Station and going back on the Hozu River boat ride and enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Oi River, Togetsukyo Bridge, and Arashiyama. The standard fare for the Sagano Romantic Train is ¥630 for adults, regardless of route. The trains are closed during the winter season from December 30 to the end of February and on Wednesdays. You can book a ticket online, at stations, and at travel agencies. Reservations can be checked online, and same-day tickets are also available. For the latest information and timetables, please check the official website. A railway diorama and steam locomotive D51 are exhibited at SL square at Saga Torokko Station. In addition, original goods of the trains, etc. are sold at the station shop. These make the perfect souvenirs. What is the best time to see and see cherry blossoms in Hozukyo from Sagano Torokko train? "There are about 700 cherry blossoms along the Sagano Torokko train line, and you can enjoy fireworks for about 25 minutes along with the view of Hozugawa River from the train." I recommend Sakura Tunnel from the first car, and you can also feel like a driver.Especially, you must see the Sakura Tunnel in front of Torokko Kameoka Station. The best time to see cherry blossoms in Hozukyo from the Sagano Torokko train is usually from late March to early April. It seems that it was in full bloom around March 25th in 2023. On the official website of Sagano Torokko train, there is also a "Sakura Map" with highlights written on it, and on SNS, there are announcements such as blooming conditions and special trains running through the illuminated Sakura Tunnel." The word “Genbi” is an abbreviation of “Gendai Bijutsu (現代美術),” meaning “modern art” in Japanese. This train, limitedly operated by JR East Joetsu Shinkansen, belongs to the Niigata Shinkansen Vehicle Center. When its operation started in 2016, the Genbi Shinkansen used to run between Echigoyuzawa Station to Niigata Station only within Niigata prefecture. After 2017, however, it now runs between Niigata Station and Tokyo Station as a travel-only train. It also runs from Sendai in Fukushima to Omiyama in Saitama for a special tour. In this three-minute video, you can see the production scene of the Genbi Shinkansen until its debut. Did you know that such a beautiful train runs in Japan...? What Is the Genbi Shinkansen? A Look at Its Designs! Source :YouTube screenshot The Genbi Shinkansen in Niigata attracts the attention of many people, as it’s known as the train of the “fastest art appreciation gallery in the world.” As a train with a brand-new concept of the “moving museum,” the Genbi Shinkansen displays many modern artworks made for this bullet train. The artwork on the body of the train, which you can see at 0:40 in the video, is designed by Japanese photographer Mika Ninagawa. The inside of the train was designed and created by a lot of artists. Many artists designed and created various exteriors and interiors, which make for great photos. In 2018, the exterior design was renewed; the Genbi Shinkansen became a more attractive bullet train. As of November 2019, the Genbi Shinkansen runs as a temporary train of the bullet train “Toki (No. 451-456),” making three round trips a day, mainly on Saturdays and holidays. It operates between Echigoyuzawa Station and Niigata Station within Niigata prefecture, which takes about 50 minutes. It stops at the following five stations: Echigoyuzawa Station, Urasa Station, Nagaoka Station, Tsubamesanjo Station, and Niigata Station. The Interior of the Genbi Shinkansen! Source :YouTube screenshot As seen at 0:59 in the video, people started to work on the interior of the Genbi Shinkansen at the Niigata Shinkansen Vehicle Center in February 2016. Artists started to move their artworks into the train on the very first day. From 1:32, the video shows each interior design of the Genbi Shinkansen. The 11th car (designed by the artist Nao Matsumoto), is a reserved seat car with limited express tickets, and is designed with the concept of the “five harvests,” “festivals,” and “lights,” while the 12th car (designed by the artist Yusuke Komuta) is designed with mirrors to reflect the world through its car windows. You can also enjoy each innovative contemporary art exhibit in the 14th car (designed by the photographer Naoki Ishikawa), the 15th car (designed by the artist Haruka Kojin), and the 16th car (designed by the artist Brian Alfred). In the 13th car, there is a playing room for kids with the toy Pla-rail (designed by the artist paramodel) and a café (designed by the artist Kentaro Kobuke), where you can enjoy drinks from Tsubame Coffee by Tatsuyuki Tanaka and sweet treats of the cake shop Romi-Unie. In the café space, you can also buy some railway items, including the N-scale model railway. Please find your favorite item there. The 12th, 14th, 15th, and 16th cars have non-reserved seats where you can enjoy artworks. The Genbi Shinkansen was completed in March 2016 and its departure ceremony was celebrated on April 29, 2016, as you can see at 1:55 in the video. Summary of the Genbi Shinkansen Source :YouTube screenshot The Genbi Shinkansen, operated as Joetsu Shinkansen’s joyful train, runs at a top speed of 240 kilometers per hour. The Heavy Machinery of Modern Japanese Forestry This video is "cutting with the powerful of heavy machinery(重機の強力なパワーで伐採)" produced by "takao kuboki" In recent years, it is said that the shortage of people is serious in primary industries, such as forestry. Forestry in particular is facing the problem of an aging population and lack of successors. Japanese satoyama (undeveloped woodland near populated area) cannot be grown into a healthy forest unless humans cut down unnecessary/predatory trees. That's where heavy machinery for cutting down trees comes in. The power to grab trees and move them around like pencils is amazing. Enjoy the powerful scenes of Japan's heavy logging machinery. The Power and Performance of Japan's Heavy Machinery! Source :YouTube screenshot The highlights of this video are around 0:54 and 01:28. A scene in which the tip of the heavy machine arm is dexterously manipulated, and a single tree is grabbed and knocked down with a crash. It’s only about 20 seconds long, but quite amazing to see. One tree is felled, creating a cloud of snow. Unless thinning is performed in this way, sunlight will not reach the ground and these "satoyama" will become unhealthy mountains. Forestry is a very important industry, as roughly 70% of Japan is covered in forests. Demand for heavy equipment operators will continue to increase if younger people don't take up the profession. The Amazing Skills of Japan's Heavy Machinery Operators Photo:Heavy Machinery Heavy machinery are dedicated vehicles used in civil engineering and construction. There are cranes, excavators, forklifts, road rollers, bulldozers, aerial platforms, unic (mini crane), digging / rock drilling / boring vehicles, wheel loaders, dump trucks, heavy equipment carriers, and loads more. Working in the snow from the beginning of this video is a heavy machine equipped with a type of arm called a "baguette" Heavy equipment is expensive even for used vehicles, and it is difficult for small and medium sized enterprises to buy them. Because of that, many people use rentals or lease them. The video shows logging in the forest, but small-sized excavators are useful in logging due to slopes and poor scaffolding. How to Get a Heavy Equipment License in Japan? What Vehicles Are Suitable for Logging? Photo:A Harvester Special qualifications (licenses) are required to operate heavy equipment in Japan. Heavy machinery is highly specialized vehicles used only in specific places. Therefore, qualifications according to the purpose are required. Here are some of them. ・Operation of vehicle construction equipment for leveling, transportation, loading and excavation. ・ Operation of vehicle construction equipment for foundation work. ・Operation of vehicle construction machinery (for dismantling). ・Operation of a shovel loader. To operate an excavator, a commonly used vehicle, you need one of the following qualifications: "Vehicle-based construction machine driving skill training" or "Special education on the operation of small vehicle-based construction machinery" Summary of the Video (The Myths of Heavy Machinery Vehicles in Japan) Japan's heavy equipment is used in many places around the world. Many heavy equipment manufacturers, such as Komatsu, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, and IHI Construction Machinery, are different from ordinary automobiles, and, they are successful in the world's leading industries. This video introduces heavy machinery in Japan that cuts down forests in snowy "satoyama." Enjoy the powerful logging scenes and the craftsmanship of heavy equipment operators who can knock down trees brilliantly even on sites with poor scaffolding. -

When coming to Japan from overseas, you'll likely be landing at either Haneda Airport or Narita Airport. Both airports sell IC cards, but the video will show you how to purchase them at Haneda Airport. First, you'll need to find the ticket terminal. As shown in the video, these ticket terminals also have multilingual support, so even if you can't speak Japanese, you should have no problems using them. After using the ticket fare chart above the ticket terminals to find your destination and ticket price, you can put in your money and receive your ticket and change, as well as a receipt. If you're going to need a connecting ticket, simply choose where you'll be changing lines, enter the name of the station you'll be going to, select that station, and pay. [Video] 2:16 - How to Purchase Train Tickets at Haneda Airport 【動画どうが】2:16~ 羽田空港はねだくうこうでの乗車券じょうしゃけんの買かい方かた As shown in the video, there are a variety of different IC cards used across Japan, but Suica and PASMO are the main IC cards used in Japan's Kanto region. By following the instructions displayed on the ticket terminal, you can easily purchase an IC card. You can also get the ¥500 deposit back if you return the IC card when you no longer need it (there will likely be a small fee deducted when returning the card). The Different Types of IC Cards Used in Japan 日本にほんで使つかわれているICカードの種類しゅるい Photo:suica(写真しゃしん:suica) There are many different IC cards used across Japan. Unfortunately, they cannot be used for continuous travel between different regions. Here is a list of the different IC cards and where the areas they can be purchased. IC cards can be used in different areas in Japan as well, although some may have limited uses. Another thing of note is that IC cards can be used for shopping at many places as well.
