Smartphones were not enough, so I became addicted to SLRs.
In the depths of camera shooting, I spend a time of joy and anguish.

I went to Okunikko’s Lake Chuzenji to photograph the splash ice.
These strange formations are nature’s artworks!
I found myself chuckling as I shot them—such amusing splash ice.
In the past, the cliffs at Utagahama froze like Niagara Falls,
and every year I come back, hopeful, to photograph the splash ice,
but that breathtaking display has only happened once and I haven’t seen it for years.
Is it the effect of global warming? I’ll keep coming without giving up!

Mount Fuji around 5:00 PM on January 31
Bathed in the setting sun, the lake’s surface was relatively calm
and the reflections were beautiful.
It’s the classic upside-down Mount Fuji scene that makes you want to take a photo.

I thought the autumn leaves were already over in mid-December, but when I went shopping in Chiba on the Boso peninsula, I stopped by a water mill while exploring the sights and found a beautiful display of autumn leaves. There was no parking lot, and the water mill caught my eye. The maple leaves were a vivid red, and the fallen leaves were beautiful too, so I enjoyed the last bit of autumn this year. The prefectural border between Noda City, Chiba Prefecture and Sakaimachi, Ibaraki Prefecture
I photographed the sunset from the Tone River embankment on the Sakaimachi side, looking toward Kanseki-jō Castle 🏯.
Behind the castle stood Mt. Fuji 🗻, and above it hung Yuzuki 🌕.
I savored late autumn with the crimson sunset and moon-viewing.

October 25, 2025 Nagano City Kinasa Okususobana Nature Garden
I wandered through the park to enjoy the autumn leaves. The forest stretched as far as I could see, dyed in fall colors.
Several ponds and wetlands dot the area. On this day I was especially drawn to Yoshiike, a breeding site for the black salamander and the forest green tree frog.
Leaves sank into the pond while reflections added depth to the scene.
