🏔 What is 🏔 Hosono Highlands?
Hosono Highlands is a magnificent Highlands with an area of about 125 hectares (26 times the size of Tokyo Dome) on the slopes of Mt. Amagi, which erupted 800,000 ~ 200,000 years ago. It is also said to be a treasure trove of flora and fauna embraced by volcanoes.
In Spring, you can pick wild vegetables such as bracken in the fresh greenery, and in autumn, you can enjoy a large group of golden pampas grass. From the top, you can overlook Sagami Bay and the Izu Islands, creating a unique view of the grassland and the Sea Field.

Inatori Hosono Highlands has been recognized as one of the "100 grassland villages to leave for the future" in recognition of the value of knowledge, awareness, and technology accumulated in the region through many years of interaction between people and nature.

It is an annual task necessary to keep the Hosono Highlands "as it is".
By burning off the overgrown vegetation, it is prevented from becoming a forest, and the burned vegetation becomes a nutrient and is maintained as a rich grassland.

This mountain grilling has been going on every year in the Hosono Highlands since the Edo period.

In addition, since it is adjacent to the neighboring Kawazu Town, it is not possible to spread the fire, and it is necessary to burn off the Elevation difference and steep slopes.

A high level of burning know-how is required.

●Events Overview

"Yamayaki" is a necessary activity to maintain the Hosono Highlands "as a grassland" and has been continued every year since the Edo period.
In February 2023, as our first initiative, we opened "Yamayaki" on a very limited basis and asked people to Visiting the site as a tour.
In order to let more people know about it more deeply, we will Held in the "Mountain Grilling Experience Meeting" again in 2025

●Events Schedule Saturday, February 8, 2025
Date & Time: 2/8 (Sat) 10:30~15:30 (tentative)
10:30 : Inatori Hosono Highlands No. 2 Car Parking Lot Meet and Reception
11:00 a.m.: Viewing of mountain grilling (with an explanation guide on mountain grilling, lunch included)
14:00 : Walk after mountain burning (with guide)
15:30 : End of the entire process, dismissal (*Please note that the order of the program may change depending on the progress of the mountain burning.) ）
Meeting / reception location: Inatori Hosono Highlands No. 2 Car Car (parking space available)
➡ On the day of the mountain burning, it is prohibited to enter the first parking lot of the general Car car Car. Please park your Car at the 2nd parking lot of Hosono Highlands Car foothills.
There is no public transportation to the venue. Please Use your own transportation to Access.

【Conditions of Participation】
・Capacity is limited to 30 people.
・Junior high school students and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
・Please be sure to understand the precautions and dangers at the site before applying.

【Participation Fee】
1 person / 3,500 yen Includes entrance fee, goods and service tax, local guide, lunch, insurance, grassland management Fee (1,000 yen)

●Precautions
[About the work]
This Events will be the Visiting the site of the Scene of Yamayaki. It is not possible to participate in the burning work.
[Cancellation decision]
There is a risk that the mountain grilling will be canceled early in the morning of the day due to the weather (wind, humidity, rain, etc.). If the mountain grilling is canceled, this Events will also be canceled. Events are not available. Please accept the conditions of cancellation before applying.
[About the appearance of the day]
Thereare burning is a very dangerous process and there may be sparks and embers.
Prepare to wear clothes made of flame retardant ingredients so that your skin is not exposed.
In addition, all local itineraries are outdoors, so please take measures to protect yourself from the cold.

●Cancellation
In the event that the Events is canceled or canceled for this Events, the Events Fee will be charged as follows.
