What is the Sakai Great Fish Night Market (Sakai Oo-uo Yoichi)?
It is a fish market festival held every late July at Ōhama Park in Sakai, Sakai Ward, Osaka Prefecture ✨
Said to have begun in the Kamakura period, it boasts about 700 years of history and has become a summer tradition in Sakai 🎐
🐡The highlight is the spectacular nighttime fish auction!
There are also food stalls and corporate PR booths on display,
making it a historic festival closely tied to the local community♪
