(April 26, 2026) Naruko Dam Rainbow Waterfall Light-Up
The first arch dam built entirely by Japanese hands
Naruko Dam, Osaki City, Miyagi Prefecture
This event will feature the illuminated overflow of the dam lake, which is at full capacity,
lighting up the natural overflow from the top of the dam with LEDs for several days.
In the past, cars concentrated on the mountain roads to see this event, causing traffic jams.
Complaints from local residents led to its cancellation.
Last year, the mountain road to the dam was closed (residents can pass)
and the event was resumed through a park-and-ride tour,
with shuttle buses guiding visitors from a nearby community center to the dam.
Hearing this information, I registered for the life's leftovers
and reserved a shuttle bus for the third trip on April 26th back in February.
Now, on the day of the event, with the weather forecast predicting rain for the next day,
I embarked on a whirlwind tour taking five hours one way from Tokyo
and was able to enjoy (and shoot) the view safely.
So colorful~♪

(2026-04-05) Night Cherry Blossom Illuminations at Shingashi River
Flowing behind Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine in Kawagoe City, Saitama Prefecture
the cherry blossom avenue here is famous
I went to take photos for the first time last year
This year, I aimed for "flower rafts"
The flower rafts along The Philosopher's Walk at Lake Biwa Canal in Kyoto
are too high a hurdle, so I decided to go for Saitama instead, haha
With various plans overlapping
I managed to squeeze in a visit on Sunday night
After transferring trains three times and switching to a bus
Result: No flower rafts appeared
Maybe the strong wind blew them away
That said, I think I got some pretty nice shots of the night cherry blossoms
I figured out the route to get there
and I captured some beautiful night cherry blossom illuminations (●´ω`●)

(2026-03-21) Night View II of the Tomei Expressway and Mount Fuji Seen from Satta Pass Observatory
This is a night scene I once photographed
At that time I had no intent to capture Mount Fuji’s slopes; I was simply photographing light-trail nightscapes
I had been waiting for another chance
When a friend gave the go-ahead, I jumped at it and went out
This time I kept shooting until the very last moment when Mount Fuji could be revealed by the morning sun, then combined the images using comparative brightening (stacking)

(2026-01-30) Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo Forest Aurora
I posted earlier about the Tokyo sea of clouds
Actually, this event upgrades at night
the :40 hourly show by adding colored LEDs and lasers onto the sea of clouds
to create the “Forest Aurora”
※From last November until this Wednesday
18:10 Sea of clouds
18:40 Forest Aurora (sea of clouds + laser projection)
19:10 Sea of clouds
19:40 Forest Aurora
:
:
and so on
Not the “Tokyo sea of clouds” but the “Forest Aurora”
This was
my first 2026 challenge of catching moments I might otherwise miss in life
Even a slight breeze can send the mist rushing toward us
or drifting off in unexpected directions,
constantly changing its appearance by the minute
So I take many shots and then pick a few that feel right.

(2025-11-22) Evening Stroll at Showa Memorial Park in Autumn
Showa Memorial Park is exceptionally large for a park in Tokyo.
They hold events there from time to time.
This autumn features illuminated autumn foliage.
They light up the Japanese-style garden area and the Ginkgo Avenue.
So I chose a day with a wind speed of 1 m/sec (almost no wind)
and went to see it.
After learning from the last “Stargazing Stroll,” where I ended up walking a ton,
I entered through Nishi-Tachikawa Gate and took the shortest route to the Japanese-style garden inside.
I always think this, but unlike Hitachi Seaside Park,
this park keeps the usual night lighting during events and
doesn’t prepare any extra temporary lights or signs at all (;'∀').
Groups of people walking together could be heard saying things like,
“Is this the right path?”
“I have no idea where we’re walking.”
“Let’s ask a staff member for directions.” “There aren’t any staff.”
Showa Memorial Park, if you run events, could you pay a little more attention?
Anyway, I finally managed to reach the garden.
Inside the garden,
the rule is “only one monopod allowed except in the tripod-permitted area,”
so I wandered around shooting with a monopod and then set up in the tripod area to take photos.
The garden pond was almost perfectly still, so I could capture reflections, but...
every gazebo was packed with people to the brim (;'∀').
You didn’t even need to zoom in to see how the atmosphere was ruined, lol.
Still, it was beautiful nonetheless (●´ω`●)

I went to Beppu Hot Spring in Oita Prefecture
In Beppu, hot water rises from all over the place (from the garden of a private house)
It also has the Tenowa Hot Spring "Hell Tour", and there are especially many hot springs
I and the "Yukemuri Observation decks" to see this scenery, and I took a night view from there
I was able to see a very fantastic scenery
On this day, Typhoons No. 22 and No. 23 were grazing the Japan, and we had to cancel our trip from Tokyo Squid last minute

(2025-06-07) Osaka Expo Night View
I went to the Osaka Expo Night View Shooting Bullet Tour
A unique project to take only the night view and turn around without entering the expo venue w
And with m(__)m a friend's drive
I was in a bad physical condition that I couldn't stop coughing, but it was a project that had already been postponed for a week, and the weather forecast for the next week (that is, this week) was not good, so I decided to go
09:00: Pick up and depart from Tokyo
16:30: Arrival at Sakishima Cosmo Tower
19:00: Shooting starts around sunset
20:30: Start walking Transportation for THE JEWELRY Light up photo shoot
22:30: Start of return to Tokyo
05:30: Return home
The Sakishima Cosmo Tower, the shooting point, is a skyscraper that houses the Osaka Prefectural Government Building, and the ground part was built as a mall, and it was intended to be a lively place for shoppers, but now it and like a ruin.
The observation floor on the top floor was not very Famous, or the Access was very bad Squid so it could be said that it was a rattle, so after setting up a tripod and preparing for shooting, I had enough room to leave my equipment and wander around and floor

A peach Minamoto with red, pink, and white flowers in full bloom Township "Flower Peach Village"
It's beautiful, isn't it?
He continues to plant trees little by little until now
I wonder if in 100 years it will be even more like a sea of peach blossoms~
