There were so many places I wanted to take pictures that I forgot how much time had passed.

I visited Omi Hachiman last fall.
I was healed by the waterway scenery where I felt the history.

Omihachiman City is known as one of the leading tourist spots in Shiga Prefecture. One of the most famous is "Hachimanbori".
"Hachimanbori" began when Toyotomi Hideyoshi's nephew, Sekihaku Toyotomi Hidetsugu, who was active from the Sengoku period to the Azuchi and Momoyama periods, built a castle on Mt. Hachiman and opened a town.
Omihachiman City has been selected as one of the Eight Views of Lake Biwa, and the "Hachimanbori Tour", where you can take a leisurely tour on an old-fashioned houseboat, is popular for cherry blossom viewing on a boat, where you can admire the cherry blossoms while swaying on a small boat. You can also enjoy the emotional scenery of the four seasons, such as willows in summer, autumn leaves in autumn, and snowy scenery in winter.
The area around Hachimanbori is full of sightseeing spots, such as the townscape that represents Japan and is also known as a filming location for historical dramas, the Kawara Museum, an exhibition hall specializing in tiles, and Kibei, where you can taste local cuisine.
