Access from popular tourist spots in Hokkaido is also outstanding.
JR Shintoku Station is served by 22 limited express trains a day, about 2 hours from Sapporo, about 1 hour and 45 minutes from New Chitose Airport, about 30 minutes from Tomamu, about 30 minutes from Obihiro, and about 1 hour and 50 minutes from Kushiro.
A train trip to Shintoku Town while looking at the beautiful natural scenery of Hokkaido is recommended.
Shintoku is also a dairy farming town where about six times the number of cows is raised.
Shintoku Town's proud gourmet food is "soba noodles" that are said to be the highest quality in Japan made from locally produced buckwheat flour, and up to 25,000 people come to the "Shintoku New Soba Festival" held every September in search of new soba noodles.
Sightseeing, gastronomy, activities... We will send out information about Shintoku Town, Kamikawa-gun, Hokkaido, which is full of charm, so thank you!

The 49th Umaissho “Shintoku” Heavy Snow Festival
This event has arrived again this year!
The Heavy Snow Festival is a food celebration where you can eat and buy Shintoku’s high-quality vegetables and soba.
The big draw is the all-you-can-stuff local vegetables (500 yen) and freshly harvested, freshly ground, freshly made, and freshly boiled new-season Shintoku soba. You’ll also find fresh fruit brought from Shintoku Town’s sister city, Higashine City in Yamagata Prefecture. On the stage there are magic shows and live performances, and if you buy meat at the venue you can borrow charcoal and a grill free of charge to enjoy a BBQ.
