8月14・15日、旧町内では、氏神である八幡神社の例祭、
下田太鼓祭りが行われます。
御神輿・供奉道具・太鼓台が神社を基点に次々と町へ繰り出し、
笛や三味線、太鼓を打ち鳴らしながら一日中各通りを練り歩きます。
太鼓橋や揃い打ちなど、見所も満載。
下田っ子の弾けるような熱気に、聴衆も思わず引き込まれる、夏の風物詩です。
