- YouTube
This video, titled "[Shocking] an Incredible Creature Next to the Ferry Terminal..." (【衝撃】フェリー乗り場の隣で信じられない生物が・・・), was released by "釣りよかでしょう。" The video shows young men fishing next to the ferry terminal. They are getting impatient due to the lack of fish, and finally discover the shadow of a fish that reacts to the fishing rod. The size of the fish seemed to be different from the usual black rockfish. When they changed the bait to a lure, the fish was clearly more responsive. After three rounds of casting, they finally caught it, speculating that it was a sea bass. The fish wasn't a sea bass, but a bright red sea bream! It's nice to see the young men so happy to see that they caught a sea bream! -

The Japanese Fishing Rod Is a Delicate and Supple, Yet Strong Work of Art. A Look at "Sao Shosaku," a Company in Kawaguchi, Saitama That Continues to Make High-Quality, Traditional Japanese Fishing Rods
Traditional Crafts- 335 plays
- YouTube
Introducing the Traditional Japanese Craft, Shosaku Fishing Rods! This video, "Nippon Handiwork Encyclopedia x Shosaku Rod (ニッポン手仕事図鑑 × 竿昭作(山野正幸))", is a video that introduces the "Kawaguchi's Traditional Japanese Fishing Rods" (川口和竿 竿昭作), a shop that makes traditional Japanese fishing rods. The company shown in the video is a workshop in Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture, where traditional Japanese rods are made using traditional techniques. Shosaku's fishing rods are works of art, with each one made from carefully selected raw materials. Their rods are of very high quality and are often featured in the media. If you're an avid fisherman, we recommend trying out one of these fishing rods! Sao Shosaku Fishing Rods Source :YouTube screenshot The origin of Kawaguchi's bamboo rods is said to be the production of bamboo fishing rods using materials such as high quality Hotei Bamboo and Mambo that grow naturally in the Shiba River basin. Masayuki Yamano, the traditional Japanese fishing rod craftsman introduced in the video, is the second-generation owner of Yamano Fishing Rods, a company that continues to produce the finest fishing rods by passing on the traditional skills of its craftsmen. Made of supple, delicate bamboo, these high-end Japanese rods are stronger than their appearance suggests. Also, as the craftsman Masayuki Yamano tells us at 2:06 in the video, Japanese fishing rods are very flexible and strong and have a good feel to them, making them quite popular. Source :YouTube screenshot As you can see from the video 2:48, there were 200 craftsmen of Japanese fishing rods in the early Showa period (around 1930 AD), but now there are only four, and Masayuki Yamano is one of them. You can also see the production process of these precious Japanese rods in the video. They're made using a large number of specialized tools. Try Fishing at the Lakes and Rivers of Japan, With a Traditional Japanese Fishing Rod! Source :YouTube screenshot Many people are interested in fishing at Japanese rivers and come from overseas to do so. This is explained at 4:49 in the video. If you're unfamiliar with fishing, we recommend that you try out different types of fishing for things like small carp and sardines. In particular, the Tanago and Kofiro rod's 8-pieces with 6 inch grips, are about 1 meter in length, and they are easy to use thanks to the supple bamboo they are made of. If you would like to use a higher-grade fishing rod, try the Yamano fishing tackle shop that sells high-quality fishing rods made by Shosaku. Shosaku's rods are also sold at online retailers such as Amazon, and there are new products at great prices, so you can easily purchase a high-quality rod. Summary of Sao Shosaku's Fishing Rods Source :YouTube screenshot The video introduces the craftsman's commitment to making traditionally crafted fishing rods using traditional techniques. The easy-to-use fishing rods made by Saoshosaku are recommended for those who are looking for a higher quality fishing rod. At 0:20 in the video, the craftsman says, "Good things will never go away." We're sure these traditional Japanese fishing rods will be passed down for years to come. If you like fishing, definitely check out one of these fishing rods. You're sure to have a great time. 【Official Website】Kazuaki Kawaguchi Sao Shosaku https://saosyosaku.com/ -

You’ll feel the urge to visit Hiroshima’s Yunoyama Onsen Morii Ryokan after watching this video! Yunoyama Onsen: A Place Where Even the Feudal Lords of Hiroshima Have Bathed Source :YouTube screenshot Yunoyama Onsen is a natural hot spring in Hiroshima Prefecture, Hiroshima City, Saeki Ward, in the Chugoku region of Japan (中国地方広島県広島市佐伯区, Chugoku-chiho Hiroshima-ken Hiroshima-shi Saeki-ku). The waters of the hot spring, which have been flowing for generations, are known as the Yunoyama Myojin Reiken-no-yu (湯ノ山明神霊験の湯, Yunoyama myojin reiken-no-yu), and the sanatorium itself is a spiritual place where many come to worship. Yunoyama Onsen has a long history, with its waters beginning to flow in 1707, more than 300 years ago. In 1750, the Hiroshima Clan constructed the sanatorium, Yunoyama Myojinja (湯の山明神社, Yunoyama myojinja), which was later designated an Important Intangible Folk-Cultural Property of Japan. The head of the clan, Asano Yoshinaga, bathed in these waters. The Yunoyama Onsen of that time was as busy and bustling as 37 hot spring hotels, with many coming to visit. At 0:07 in the video, you can see a signboard on which is written “Hiroshima Clan Head Asano Sanatorium.” The history and origin of the Yunoyama Onsen is also recorded in Japan’s ancient history tomes. 1958 Yunoyama Sanatorium (湯之山旧湯治場, Yunoyama kyu-tojiba) was designated a Historic Site of Hiroshima Prefecture. 1972 Together with Yuki Onsen (湯来温泉, Yuki onsen), the Yuki・Yunoyama Onsen (湯来・湯の山温泉, Yuki・Yunoyama onsen) was designated a National Hot Spring Health Resort by the Minister of the Environment, and it became an exceedingly popular destination. This designation refers to hot springs which are suitable for promoting health and relaxation, with only 21 hot springs in all of Japan awarded this honor. 1974 Yunoyama Myojin Kyu-tojiba was designated an Important Tangible Folk-Cultural Property of Japan. The Yunoyama Onsen, run by Yukicho, was opened. 1991 “Yuki Yunoyama Onsen” was designated a National Hot Spring Health Resort especially suitable for the promotion of health. 1994 Kua House Yunoyama (クアハウス湯の山, Kua hausu yunoyama), run by Yukicho, was opened. Yunoyama Onsen was selected as one of the top hot springs in Japan for recuperation. The waters are unique in that they contain weak radioactive substances, and the temperature is a low 23.5 degrees celsius (74° F). The waters are effective for easing the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, poor circulation, mild hypertension and chronic disease. As shown in the video, there are two hotels near Yunoyama Onsen, namely the Yunoyama Onsen Morii Ryokan and the Yunoyama Onsenkan. At the Yunoyama Onsenkan, the Utase-yu (打たせ湯, Utase-yu), where water falls from an outcrop 4 meters high, is quite famous. About Hiroshima’s Yunoyama Onsen Morii Ryokan Source :YouTube screenshot Yunoyama Onsen Morii Ryokan is a hot spring hotel located at Hiroshima Prefecture, Hiroshima City, Saeki Ward, Yukicho, Wada 464湯来町和田464, Yukicho wada 464). It takes about 40 minutes from the Itsukaichi IC on the Sanyo Expressway (山陽自動車道の五日市IC, Sanyo jidosha-do no itsukaichi IC) to get there. Free parking is available. Another method is to take the bus from the Itsukaichi Station off the JR Sanyo Main Line (山陽本線JR五日市駅, Sanyo honsen JR itsukaichi-eki). The trip takes approximately 60 minutes. Constructed in 1935, more than 80 years ago, this is a hot spring area which upholds the value of “local production for local consumption.” The bath itself being a small, homely size with few rooms, this hotel is not one of those fashionable places generating buzz on travel sites. However, for the purpose of soaking up the simple atmosphere of the Showa era, and having a relaxing time, this place is the perfect getaway. There is a private onsen available for booking as well. It's introduced at 0:47 in the video. As for meals, the wild game nabe (hot pot) with boar meat purchased from local huntsmen, as well as dishes made using seasonal local produce, are popular. This is shown at 0:33 in the video. A day trip plan is available, where you can make use of the private bath as well as the rooms, with lunch provided. As for overnight stays, there are a variety of plans available, such as the provision of meals made with seasonal produce, a business plan, training camps, stays lasting for more than two nights, and more. Information About the Surroundings of Yunoyama Onsen Morii Ryokan Photo:Yunoyama doctor fish footbath Nearby Yunoyama Onsen Morii Ryokan is Kua House Yunoyama, which is equipped with water slides and an indoor hot spring pool. A hot spring meant for day trips is also available. Located in Kua House Yunoyama’s parking lot is the Kinsai Yunoyama (きんさい湯の山, Kinsai yunoyama), a farm-fresh produce delivery market. Locally-produced fresh vegetables, rice, homemade konnyaku jelly and more; there are a variety of seasonal goods available which cannot be found anywhere else. Furthermore, there is even the Yunoyama Footbath (湯の山の足湯, Yunoyama-no-ashiyu), with "doctor fish." There, you can soak to your heart’s content in the sacred waters of Yunoyama Myojinja. The facilities are open 24 hours. There is no designated fee, so all you have to do is place coins into the offering box as you see fit. As shown from 0:49 in the video, there are weeping cherry trees (枝垂れ桜, Shidare-zakura) both at the entrance of the Yunoyama Onsen as well as inside the shrine. This sight can be enjoyed throughout the four seasons. Summary of Hiroshima’s Yunoyama Onsen Morii Ryokan In Hiroshima, there are many hot spring areas such as Miyahama Onsen (宮浜温泉, Miyahama onsen), Hiroshima Onsen (広島温泉, Hiroshima onsen), Kinoe Onsen (きのえ温泉, Kinoe onsen), Ryu Onsen (龍温泉, Ryu-onsen), Megadaira Onsen (女鹿平温泉, Megadaira onsen), Kimita Onsen (君田温泉, Kimita onsen), Yuki Onsen (湯来温泉, Yurai onsen), Tomo-no-Ura Onsen (鞆の浦温泉, Tomo-no-ura onsen), Nukui Onsen (温井温泉, Nukui onsen), Shobara Sakura Onsen (庄原さくら温泉, Shobara sakura onsen), Miharashi Onsen (みはらし温泉, Miharashi onsen), and more. When visiting Hiroshima, we recommend taking a bath and relaxing in the hot springs. Although Yunoyama Onsen is not a ‘fashionable’ place by any means, what it is, is a place with rich history, and springs so amazing that even feudal lords bathed in them. Enjoy soaking up the simple atmosphere reminiscent of the Showa era, at Yunoyama Onsen. ◆Yunoyama Onsen Morii Ryokan Facilities Overview◆ 【Address】〒738-0601 Hiroshima Prefecture, Hiroshima City, Saeki Ward, Yukicho Wada 464 【Access】60 minutes by bus from JR Sanyo Main Line Itsukaichi Station 【Parking】Available 【Phone Number】0829-83-0403 【Tripadvisor】Yunoyama Onsen Morii Ryokan https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g298561-d10023044-Reviews-Morii_Ryokan-Hiroshima_Hiroshima_Prefecture_Chugoku.html -

Tourist Information for the Winter Months in Tsubetsu, Hokkaido The tourism promotional video produced by the Tsubetsu's tourism board, "Welcome to Winter in Tsubetsu!"(いらっしゃい津別!冬(津別町観光PRビデオ)), captures the beauty of the wild winter wonderland at its best. Tsubetsu is adjacent to Akan Mashu National Park located in the east inland of Hokkaido prefecture. Tsubetsu Outlook is a popular viewpoint overlooking Kussharo Lake during the summer months, but the road leading to the outlook is closed in winter. However, there are some unique attractions in Tsubetsu during the winter. Displayed in the video is a fantastic snow-covered world of minus 20 degree weather with frost-covered trees and wild animals - The harsh beauty of the Wild North. How to Enjoy Tsubetsu's Magnificent Winter Wonderland Source :YouTube screenshot Tsubetsu is an hour drive from Memanbetsu Airport in Abashiri, and the city has no local train. About 80% of its total municipal area is covered by forest, surrounding tourists with the vast landscape as soon as they arrive. You may be wondering if there's anything to see there other than the silvery white plains during the bitter winter, but that same landscape is what makes the visit so worth your time! The trees in the forest are covered with ice, and when the weather is nice they sparkle, creating a fantastic scene of glittering lights. Popular winter activities in Tsubetsu include ice skating at the Tsubetsu Elementary School grounds or smelt fishing at Chimikeppu Lake. You can see smelt fishing at 1:30 in the video. Catching and cooking your very own smelt is a great way to enjoy the cold weather. The subtitle that appears at 1:42 says how "The mountain has become an amusement park," and that's exactly what we see! This amusement park offers a wide range of enjoyable experiences, such as eating fresh snow with condensed milk poured on it. Dining in Tsubetsu Source :YouTube screenshot After spending some time in the magnificent snowscape, viewers are taken to Michi no Eki Aioi (Roadside Station Aioi) that sells healthy snacks using local vegetables. This can be seen at 2:02 in the video. We recommend Kumayaki; it's a snack you can't find anywhere else. Kumayaki is a type of Japanese confection with bear-shaped patties (Kuma means bear in Japanese) and a sweet red bean filling using local flour and locally grown adzuki beans. There are four types of bear-shaped dorayaki (similar to Kumayaki) made of Hokkaido wheat and azuki beans, which are popular in Japan. Local gourmet delicacies such as Tsubetsu Wagyu steak, a brand of beef from Tsubetsu, Hokkaido, which is said to be a rare Japanese wagyu beef, and extra-large kakiage soba noodles made with local vegetables are also worth trying. And there is of course the renowned local dish of Hokkaido, Genghis Khan (a Japanese BBQ mutton dish), which is served at some restaurants in Tsubetsu. Tourist Information for Tsubetsu Source :YouTube screenshot Lamp no Yado Mori Tsubetsu Hotel is a hotel that features an outdoor hot spring bath where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the snow. In summer, tourists come from all over Japan to tour the spectacular sea of clouds from Tsubetsu Pass to Lake Kussharo. "Non-no no Mori Nature Center" is a rare park in Japan that has been scientifically recognized as a "forest therapy base" for its healing properties. The forest therapy guided tour or a walk on the hiking trail through the snow-covered forest will help you get reacquainted with nature. Its population is 240,415 as of June, 2019. There are quite a few famous tourist spots in Matsumoto that are also featured in the video. As well as the natural landscape, culture, history, cuisine, and so on. Which one caught your eye? Sightseeing and Instagrammable Locations Around Matsumoto Photo:Matsumoto Castle Matsumoto Castle, a national treasure, is undoubtedly the most instagrammable spot around Matsumoto. Matsumoto Castle's towers against a backdrop of nature are shown at 0:15 in the video. Of course, there's much more to see than just the castle; there are a myriad of hidden gems throughout the city where you can enjoy the seasonal scenery of Matsumoto as well. Places rich in nature such as Takabocchi Highlands, Sashikirikyo, and Lake Hijiri are famous for their beautiful scenery. For example, Kiritoshi, a road cut through the hilly terrain, leading to Zenko Temple. Kamikochi (0:29) is a popular resort in the Northern Japan Alps with two million visitors each year; it offers one of the most famous mountain views in the country. Photo:Kappa Bridge The hiking trail through a virgin forest, starting from Kappa Bridge to Myojin Bridge around Myojin Pond, is another great way to see the natural scenery, and is very popular. The shiny emerald color of the rivers and ponds is incredibly beautiful. Walter Weston, an English missionary, introduced the Japanese Alps to the world for the first time in the early 1900’s. He is called the father of modern mountain climbing; Weston Monument, a relief to honor his memory, is situated on the gigantic rocks facing Mt. Kasumizawa and Mt. Roppyaku. It used be at the highest altitude among all the 11 towns of Kiso; the townscape is registered as an "Important Preservation District of Historic Buildings." Dining in Matsumoto Photo:A Watermill at Azumino Daio Wasabi Farm, Nagano Prefecture The area around Matsumoto is known for its deep mountainous villages and harsh weather, yet these very conditions make it possible for you to enjoy the rustic food of the mountains. Shimogo is a town where ancient Japanese culture and traditions remain and where the present meets the past. Fukushima is best visited during winter as the snowfall in the region creates beautiful landscapes. There is an event called "Mizuki-no-hana-dango" (みずきの花団子) during Little New Year. From 2:07 in the video, you can see mountain cherries in Toaka, and at 3:51the Nakayama Snow, Moon, and Fire Festival, where igloos and lights decorate a snowy Aizu. There are many popular sightseeing spots in Shimogo, Fukushima, including a snowshoe experience which is filled with the wisdom of Fukushima's ancestors who have lived through the harsh winters. The Food Culture of Shimogo, Fukushima Photo:Minamiaizu's local cuisine, Shingoro The Aga River, a quiet, clear stream flowing through Shimogo, is an important river that nurtures abundant life and is necessary for preserving the local culinary culture of Aizu. Upstream, there are many hot spring hotels and inns where you can enjoy a steamy atmosphere. You can relax at hot springs such as Yunokami Onsen after a long day of sightseeing. Fukushima is also famous for rice production. Shingoro is a local delicacy of Shimogo. During the festival there is a long procession from Sano Shrine (狭野神社, sanojinja) to Ojibaru Park (皇子原公園, ojibarukouen), presentations of traditional performing arts, such as Sano kagura and Haraigawa kagura (dances dedicated to the Shinto gods, registered as Important Intangible Folk Cultural Properties), and also a barbecue festival to take part in.
