Mt. Daisen and Kitanizawa Stream - Two Places Used to Make Commercials With Famous Artists! Be Amazed by the Natural Scenery of Tottori Prefecture in This 4K Video!

Mt. Daisen and Kitanizawa Stream in Tottori Prefecture This video, titled "[4K UHD] Summer Mt. Daisen and Kitanizawa stream" ([ 4K UHD ]夏の伯耆大山と木谷沢渓流 Mt.Daisen & Kitanisawa Stream in Summer), was created by AQUA Geo Graphic. It's an introductory video showing Mt. Daisen and Kitanizawa Stream. Mt. Daisen is a mountain at 1,729m (5,700 ft.) above sea level in Tottori prefecture, in Japan's Chugoku region. It is a stratovolcano, but it is not active at present. It is also known as the sacred peak that represents the Chugoku region of Japan. Mt. Daisen is sometimes called Pansan or Hoki Daisen. The name Hoki Daisen derives from the history of western Tottori Prefecture, which was once called Hoki Country. Mt. Daisen is a popular scenic location that has been selected as one of Japan's "Top 100 Mountains" and Japan's "Top 100 Views." The Kitanizawa Stream is a clear stream that originates from Mt. Daisen, and is also designated as a walking route for sightseeing on Mt. Daisen. It is filled with many tourists, especially during the fall foliage season. The video introduces the fresh greenery of Mt. Daisen and the Kitanizawa Stream in beautiful 4K footage. You can enjoy the beautiful natural scenery, the chirping of birds, and the natural sounds of the flowing river, making it seem as if a mountain stream is actually flowing right in front of you. Mt. Daisen and Kitanizawa Stream- Two Beautiful Instagram Locations Photo:Kitanizawa mountain stream When visiting Mt. Daisen, we recommend taking a guided tour with the Oku-Daisen tour guide. It's a popular walking tour where you can enjoy the seasonal natural scenery, such as bird watching in the summer, autumn leaves in the fall, and snowshoeing in the winter. Keep in mind that the tours require a minimum of people before starting. Reservations can be made with the Kofu Tourism Association by phone or email. The first Saturday of the month is Kitanizawa Tour Day, which includes a photo and allows pets and elementary school students to accompany the tour. Feel free to sign up for this walking route, as it's a great way to capture some Instagram-worthy pictures. The crater at the top of Daisen is marked by the rim of a volcano, indicating that it was once a volcano. It's also locally called Hoki Fuji. If you fancy yourself a hike, why not try climbing to the famous Hoki Fuji Rim to see the natural landscape of Mt. Daisen? Speaking of Mt. Daisen, in winter, we recommend the Oku-Daisen Ski Resort. It's the largest ski resort in Tottori Prefecture, with 400 free parking spots. Reservations should be made early, as the resort is quite popular. Oku-Daisen Was Used for Suntory's Natural Water TV Commercials! Photo:Houki Fuji among the stars In 2017, a commercial for Suntory Natural Water, featuring world-renowned female artist Utada Hikaru, was set in Oku-Daisen, a famous mountain that is said to be the highest peak in the Chugoku region. Oku-Daisen is a place where the air and water are so clean that it is said to be a mountain of water, and the atmosphere of its mysterious forest is something straight out of an anime or some other mythological world! The numerous climbing spots capture the hearts of visitors. Okudaisen (奥大山) has a vast beech forest, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the majestic mountains, and you can see the beautiful starry sky that Utada Hikaru sang about in the TV commercial "#Hoshi Suge" (These stars are beautiful!). The mountain stream that Utada Hikaru visited in the TV commercial is featured throughout this video, where you can enjoy the clear river water of the naturally flowing stream. If you watch the video, you might be able to feel what Utada Hikaru felt, surrounding by the natural beauty of Okudai Mountain. Mountain Climbing and Sightseeing at Mt. Daisen and Kitanizawa Stream Kofu City (江府町, Kofu cho), in Tottori Prefecture, is home to Oku-Daisen, mentioned earlier in the article. The air here is incredibly clear, making it a great place for stargazing, and many campers and photographers come here every year. In the surrounding downtown area and hotels, you can enjoy incredible gourmet cuisine, such as seafood from the Sea of Japan. Summary of Mt. Daisen and Kitanizawa Stream Hoki Daisen Station (JR West) in Yonago is a convenient way to get around, especially for trips to Mt. Daisen, home to the Kinayazawa Stream, one of the clearest rivers in Japan. We recommend using a local bus for transportation from Hoki Daisen Station to hotels, accommodations, and tourist destinations around Mt. Daisen. The highlight of this video is the Kitanizawa Stream, which is shown from 0:36 to the end of the video. The clear water flowing through the lush greenery of a mountain stream in summer, the beautiful moss on the rocks of the stream, and the beautiful sound of the river. It's a truly amazing atmosphere. The video is pleasing to both the eyes and ears. Please enjoy the beauty of Mt. Daisen and the Kitanizawa mountain stream. -

Chinoike Jigoku at Beppu Onsen This video is a 4K video that introduces Chinoike Jigoku at Beppu onsen, Beppu, Oita. This video was published by "TokyoStreetView - Japan The Beautiful." Seeing the blood red hot springs and hearing the name "Blood Pond of Hell" might cause some readers fear. Well before you get too scared let us explain what kind of place Oita's Chinoike Jigoku is. Be sure to follow along with the video! Chinoike Jigoku Photo:Beppu's hot springs at night There are many famous hot spring resorts in Japan. Among them, Beppu City in Oita Prefecture in Japan's Kyushu region is the most abundant in Japan in terms of both the sheer number of hot springs and the amount of water that flows from the springs. Beppu onsen is one of the most popular tourist spots in Japan. Even regular city hotels have natural hot springs here. Chinoike Jigoku, located in the Beppu area, is a natural hell with a distinctive red hot spring. It has a long history and has existed in Beppu for over 1,300 years. Take a tour of Chinoike Jigoku and the surrounding area to enjoy the charm of this unique Japanese hot spring. Must See Spots and Key Points of Chinoike Jigoku Photo:Chinoike Jigoku Once you go through the gate, Jigoku mon (lit. "Hells Gate"), the first thing you'll see is the vivid red springs. The spring is shown from 0:56 in the video, and if you've never seen it before, you'll be really surprised at how red it actually is. Chinoike Jigoku looks like a pool of boiling hot blood as it bubbles and steams. This acidic melanterite spring is around 78 degrees Celsius. Why is the spring so red you might be wondering. This is because red hot mud, containing an abundance of magnesium oxide and iron oxide, erupts from the geological strata after a chemical reaction occurs naturally under high temperature and pressure underground. There is also a footbath at Chinoike Jigoku where you can dip your feet in the red hot water. After sightseeing, we recommend buying a souvenir called "血の池軟膏" (Blood Pond Ointment), a skin disease remedy made from the hot mud of Chinoike Jigoku. The "Hell Tour" of Beppu Onsen In addition to Chinoike Jigoku, there are many other locations called "Hells." Photo:Umi Jigoku Beppu Onsen's "Jigoku" hell tour includes 7 spots: Umi Jigoku, Oniishi Bouzu Jigoku, Kamado Jigoku, Oniyama Jigoku, Shiraike Jigoku, Chinoike Jigoku, and Tatsumaki Jigoku. These 7 spots are all part of the Beppu Jigoku Association. Chinoike Jigoku is easily accessible by train and bus. First, take the train from Beppu Station to Kamegawa Station in Oita Prefecture, and then take a bus to Kannawa. Admission to Chinoike Jigoku is 400 yen for adults and high school students and 200 yen for junior high school students and elementary school students, and there is also a discounted "Hell Tour" ticket that allows you to visit all seven natural hells (*Prices as of July 2020). Summary of Chinoike Jigoku As you can see in the video, Chinoike Jigoku is an amazing tourist destination where you can see a vivid red, natural hot spring. Business hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (as of July 2020). If you're driving, there are total of 700 free parking spots available for the 7 Jigoku hot springs (as of July 2020). It introduces Japan's colorful, customized "dekotora." The beauty of dekotora, with their characteristically flashy appearances, can be seen in the video. If you're interested, be sure to check it out! In this article, we'll introduce the charms of the shimmering dekotora trucks. Be sure to follow along with the video! A Look at Japan's Dekotora Source :YouTube screenshot Dekotora is an abbreviation for decoration truck (in Japanese truck is pronounced "torakku"). Dekotora are artsy trucks that are decorated with glittering electric illuminations, and a flashy exterior. Parts such as the front deck, visor, and front bumper, are especially flashy. Dekotora culture is a unique subculture in Japan, and due to its unique appearance it has also begun attracting attention from overseas. The beautiful trucks are made by decorating the exterior in a variety of ways, such as painting the body in flashy paint, adding electrical equipment such as lanterns and marker lamps, or adding aero parts made of chrome plating and stainless steel. At 2:02, you can see both the interior and exterior of a dekotora. The interior is decorated with stickers and other gadgets, and you can see the dedication of the owner to their vehicle. However, if you put too many decorations on the vehicle, there are times when it won't pass the vehicle inspection, so dekotora fanatics have to keep this in mind when designing their trucks. You can see a variety of unique dekotora on Instagram, or at events and gatherings. There are also plastic models, radio controlled dekotora, and the truck game “Bakuso Dekotora Legend” that you can purchase, so you can enjoy dekotora at home as well. There are different styles for decorating dekotora as well. Some categories are “Gundam Art,” “Modern Art,” “Kansai-style Art,” and “Retro Art.” The History of Japan's Dekotora Source :YouTube screenshot The origin of Japan's dekotora is said to be from seafood transport trucks using stainless steel plates to fix the deterioration of the body. This deterioration was due to the effects of the snow-melting agents. The movie “Truck Guys” which was released in 1975, sparked a boom in popularity and many people began making dekotora. The famous vehicle "Ichiban boshi" which appeared in "Truck Guys," was turned into a plastic model and became very popular among children at the time. Unfortunately, the movie "Truck Guy" received complaints from the police due to its explicit depictions and the movie was discontinued. Because of this, the dekotorora craze slowly began to fade away. Currently, with movies such as "Dekotora Girl Nami" and "The Eagle of Dekotora," dekotora have once again gained public attention. Summary of Japan's Dekotora Source :YouTube screenshot In this video we showed, "【HD】Story of the modified vehicles~The latest Dekotora Episode②~,” produced by “Tenku Ranbuー Custom Videosー"; a video that introduces Japan's flashy dekotora trucks. Mt. Yoshino in Nara Prefecture – Experience a Panoramic View of 30,000 Beautiful Cherry Blossoms at One of the Most Famous Cherry Blossom Viewing Locations in Japan
Travel Nature- 45 plays
- YouTube
The Breathtaking Cherry Blossoms of Mt. Yoshino This video, titled "Yoshino Cherry Blossoms 吉野山の桜 [8K]," was uploaded by "Japan Explorers." Enjoy the beautiful cherry blossoms of Mt. Yoshino in high-quality 8K video, that truly captures the scenery of Japan. Mt. Yoshino, introduced in the video, is a generic name for the ridge of mountains leading from the south bank of the Yoshino River to the Omine Mountain Range in the town of Yoshino in Yoshino County, Nara Prefecture, located in Japan's Kansai region. There is also a theory that it is the name of a wide area dotted with temples and shrines, centering on Kinpusenji Temple. The area around Mt. Yoshino is said to be a famous place for flowers, not just their famous cherry blossoms, and there are even records that tell of Toyotomi Hideyoshi visiting for cherry blossom viewing. From 1:29 in the video, you can see the beautiful cherry blossoms in full bloom in front of the main hall of Kinpusenji Temple (Zao Hall), a World Heritage Site. What Makes Mt. Yoshino the Best Place in Japan for Cherry Blossom Viewing? Photo:The Senbonzakura of Mt. Yoshino, Yoshino, Nara There are many famous places for cherry blossom viewing in Japan, and all of them have splendid views of cherry blossoms worthy of a title, but there's a good reason why the cherry blossoms of Mt. Yoshino are said to be "the best in Japan." The vocaloid masterpiece "Senbonzakura" (千本桜, lit. One Thousand Cherry Blossoms) is said to have been inspired by the thousand cherry blossoms of Mt. Yoshino. Moreover, from the beginning to the end of April, the cherry blossoms bloom up the mountain in ascending order starting with the thousand at the foot of the mountain, followed by the thousand of the middle section, the thousand at the peak of the mountain, and finally the thousand in the deeper reaches of the mountain. In other words, it can be said that Mt. Yoshino is worthy of the title "No. 1 in Japan" simply because it allows for cherry blossom viewing for an entire month. Yoshino-Kumano National Park, which includes Mt. Yoshino, is designated as a National Place of Scenic Beauty and a historic site, and Mt. Yoshino is also included in the "Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range," a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Naturally, it has also been selected as one of the " Top 100 Places to View Cherry Blossoms in Japan." The History of Mt. Yoshino, the Most Famous Place to View Cherry Blossoms in Japan Photo:The Yoshino Ropeway, Yoshino, Nara The history of cherry blossoms on Mt. Yoshino dates back more than a thousand years with documents mentioning the cherry blossoms of Mt. Yoshino as far back as the Heian period (794-1185). Since the Yoshino Cherry, which bears the name "Yoshino," is an ornamental cherry tree that was refined during the Edo period (1603-1868 A.D.), there are many more varieties planted on Mt. Yoshino, and it is said that there are approximately 30,000 of them covering the entirety of the mountain. The reason why Mt. Yoshino became a famous place for cherry blossoms is that cherry blossoms were considered to be the sacred tree of Zao Gongen, a mountain deity of Shugendo, an ancient religion in Japan. It is said that En no Ozuno, considered the founder of Shugendo, practiced asceticism on Mt. Kinpu and attained enlightenment through the manifestation of the bodhisattva Zao Gongen. At that time, they carved a statue of the bodhisattva Zao Gongen out of a cherry tree and worshipped it, and it became a custom for mountain ascetics in the past to carve a statue of Zao Gongen out of a cherry tree on Mt. Yoshino. As a result, cherry trees were planted all over the mountain, and it became a popular topic of conversation among commoners as a place where they could view thousands of splendid cherry blossoms in one location, making it the most famous cherry blossom viewing location in Japan. Furthermore, the Yoshino Ropeway, the oldest ropeway in Japan, is another must-see location for cherry blossom viewing. It was founded in 1929 and has a history of more than 90 years. The pillars, built in 1928 when the ropeway opened, are in use even now, showcasing the high-level Japanese architectural technology, even at that time. The Recommended Route for Cherry Blossom Viewing on Mt. Yoshino Photo:Senbonzakura seen from the Hanayagura Observatory, Yoshino, Nara Mt. Yoshino is a place for leisurely enjoyment that can be enjoyed throughout all of Japan's four seasons. You can enjoy not only the cherry blossom season, but also autumn leaves, early summer hydrangeas, snowy winter scenery, the hot springs of Yoshino, temples and shrines, and even quiet places to go for a walk through the forests of Yoshino. In particular, the recommended route for viewing the cherry blossoms is from Yoshino Station to Saigyoan. On the way you'll see: ・Kumoi-no-Sakura (雲井の桜) ・Takizakura (滝桜) ・Nunobiki-no-Sakura (布引の桜) ・Tennin-no-Sakura (天人桜) ・Yumemizakura (夢見桜) ・Goshozakura (御所桜) ・Arashiyama-no-Sakura (嵐山の桜) ・Sekiyazakura (関屋桜) ・Yonhonzakura (四本桜) ・Senbonzakura (千本桜) ・Hanazonosan-no-Sakura (花園山の桜) These are the famous places you can stop by where many wild cherry trees can be seen in full bloom. In addition, the views from Hanayagura Observatory and Shimosenbon Observatory at an elevation of about 600m, showcase a panoramic view of 30,000 cherry blossoms of around 200 different species! When they're in full bloom, they're lit up and you can enjoy spectacular views of cherry blossoms at night. Since Mt. Yoshino covers a large area, it's also recommended as a driving course for private vehicles, rental cars, and buses. Summary of Mt. Yoshino, the Most Famous Place to View Cherry Blossoms in Japan In this article, we introduced some of the history and highlights of Mt. Yoshino alongside the video showcasing the cherry blossoms in full bloom. We hope you enjoyed it! There are many other attractions around Mt. Yoshino, such as Zao Hall, and Yoshimizu Shrine, both World Heritage Sites. Also, since it was originally a sacred place for Shugendo, there are plenty of accommodation facilities, such as Sakuramotobou (桜本坊) that were originally for mountain ascetics. Please check the official website of the Mt. Yoshino Tourism Association for directions to Mt. Yoshino, parking information, bloom forecasts, and more. Hokkaido's Asahiyama Zoo The video "JG 4K Asahiyama Zoo, Hokkaido" (JG 4K 北海道 旭山動物園 Asahiyama Zoo, Hokkaido), introduces Asahiyama Zoo, a popular tourist spot in Hokkaido. Asahiyama Zoo is 15 hectares. It's the size of about 3 Tokyo Domes. There are over 650 animals (100 species) bred in the park. The 20-minute video contains plenty of cute animals, so be sure to check it out! About Hokkaido Asahiyama Zoo Photo:Asahiyama Zoo Hokkaido Asahiyama Zoo, known as the northernmost zoo in Japan, is a historical zoo that opened in 1951. The special feature of Asahiyama Zoo is the "Behavior Exhibit" where you can see the behavior and life of the animals. The facility is designed to allow visitors to get up close and personal with animals that move around freely. To achieve this goal, penguins roam the park freely, and they hold an event to display meal time called "Munching Time." Another characteristic of Asahiyama Zoo's exhibition is the "mixed exhibition" in which different animals are raised in the same place. The Asahiyama Zoo was in danger of closing in 1994 (Heisei 6), but by incorporating these exhibits, the Asahiyama Zoo has recovered brilliantly. During its big boom, it became the nation's top zoo, attracting 3 million visitors annually. Currently, you can see behavior exhibits at zoos around the country. The Animals of Asahiyama Zoo Photo:Asahiyama Zoo From 0:25 in the video, you can see the popular penguins, and from 2:04, you can see the awesome appearance of the polar bears at the Polar Bear Hall. In the video, you can see the tiger at the "Fierce Animal House" (もうじゅう館) (15:29-), a snow leopard (15:38), an Ussuri brown bear (15:48), elephants, seals (9:41), red pandas (18:08), snowy owls (18:46), cranes (19:10), and eagles (19:27). The park is quite large, and visitors can enjoy a variety of facilities, such as the 360-degree underwater tunnel, a hippopotamus building, a wolf forest, flamingo house, monkey house, giraffe house, a suspension bridge, and a marine way. Although not shown in the video, you can see reindeer, hippos, giraffes, chimpanzees, ostriches, Japanese macaques, foxes, raccoons, capybaras and other animals as well. One of the attractions of the Asahiyama Zoo is its various events that are held throughout the year. During the Obon season, they extend their hours of operation to allow you to observe nocturnal animals in a different way than you do during the day. There is also a restaurant where you can enjoy lunch and a souvenir shop where you can purchase limited edition animal merchandise. Take your time and enjoy the sights along the tour. Summary of Hokkaido's Asahiyama Zoo Photo:A King Penguin Hokkaido has a variety of sightseeing spots, including Sapporo City, Furano, and Hakodate, so be sure to visit Asahiyama Zoo if you're headed that way. There are a number of sightseeing tours offered, but since your time at the zoo is limited to 2-3 hours, it may not be enough to enjoy all that the zoo has to offer. In winter, business hours are shorter, so please check the weather and other information before visiting. There are restaurants and hotels in the surrounding area, so it's a good idea to stay in Asahikawa and enjoy the sights and sounds of the city. As of March 31, 2018, the Asahiyama Zoo Live Camera was discontinued, so please take the time to enjoy the animals' ecology through this video. ◆Asahiyama Zoo◆ 【Address】 Kuranuma, Higashi Asahikawa Town, Asahikawa City, Hokkaido 【Director】Gen Bando 【Access】About 40 minutes by bus from Asahikawa Station (2 hours from Sapporo). Cherry Blossoms on Mt. Yoshino, Nara: Video Introduction This video, titled "Chery Blossoms on Mt. Yoshino 2020" (吉野山の桜 2020), was uploaded "koichi hozan." Mt. Yoshino is a famous sightseeing spot in Nara, and is a registered UNESCO's World Heritage Site. Mt. Yoshino has also been selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Viewing Sites. Being on a list with spots like Chidorigafuchi and the Imperial Place in Tokyo, Hirosaki Park in Aomori, and Goryokaku Park in Hokkaido, is no easy feat, so you know the cherry blossoms here are really something else. A Brief Introduction to Nara Prefecture and Yoshino Nara is a prefecture in central Japan located south of Kyoto and just east of Osaka. Nara is known for its rich history as the ancient capital of Japan, as well as its abundance of temples and shrines. Many people travel to Nara to explore the history of ancient temples, such as Todaiji Temple, one of the most famous temples in Japan and at one point the largest wooden structure in the world, and the beautiful views that can be found within the prefecture, at places such as Nara Park. Yoshino is located in the dead center of Nara and is famous for Mt. Yoshino, undeniably one of the best places in Japan to view the cherry blossoms. The mountain is home to the Yoshino Ropeway allowing visitors to easily reach the top for some cherry blossom viewing. That being said, it's also possible to hike the mountain. If you're looking to do some hiking there are several different ways to go about it: The first is to hike up and down both ways. Starting from Yoshino Station and hiking to the Oku Senbon (upper area of the mountain) and then hiking back down will take around 3.5-5 hours depending on how many breaks you take and how often you stop to take in the scenery and take photos. Another way to hike the mountain is to take the Yoshino Ropeway to the top and then hike your way down the mountain while enjoying the views and visiting temples, shrines, etc. Hiking Mt. Yoshino like this will take around 2-3 hours. Lastly, you could hike up Mt. Yoshino and take the ropeway down, which will take you around 3-4 hours. From both Osaka Station and Kyoto Station, it's about a 2-hour train ride to Yoshino Station. From Nara Park, it'll take about 1.5 hours to reach by train. Japan – The Country of 'Sakura.' Discover the Beautiful Flower and What It Means in the Language of Flowers If you didn't know, Japan's national flower is the chrysanthemum, and if you've ever seen a Japanese passport before, you would have seen the flower on it. This might come as a surprised to most people as they often see associate Japan with cherry blossoms when it comes to flowers. But how much do you know about cherry blossoms? Here are some facts about cherry blossoms for you: The Japanese word for "cherry blossoms" is "sakura," written in kanji as "桜." The cherry trees in Japan that grow these beautiful flowers are a deciduous broad-leaved trees belonging to the family Rosaceae, subfamily Prunus. They're distributed throughout temperate regions on the Northern Hemisphere, but the ones that have beautiful flowers are mostly found in Asia. Japan especially has many different varieties of cherry trees. In general, there are 9 basic species, but there are actually more than 100 species of sakura that grow naturally. The language of flowers attaches different meanings to eat flower. Japan's version of this is called "Hanakotoba." In Hanakotoba, sakura mean "spiritual beauty," "graceful woman," and "purity." Some speculate that this flower was entrusted with such beauty as a symbol to express Japan's dignity. When the cherry blossoms are in bloom, the people of Japan know that spring has truly arrived. Most bloom during the spring, but some species bloom in fall as well. The History of Kinpusenji Temple on Mt. Yoshino – The Origin of Mountain Worship in Japan Mt. Yoshino is not like other famous cherry blossom spots: trees are not neatly arranged for hanami (cherry blossom viewing). Cherry blossoms on Mt. Yoshino are "sakura for religion" and are deeply connected to mountain worship in Japan. This is one of the reasons why they are taken care of so well. The history of Mt. Yoshino dates back around 1,300 years. At that time, the mountains were believed to be inhabited by gods, and Mt. Yoshino was considered to be an ideal home for these gods. It is said that En no Ozunu (the founder of Shugendo) carved the image of Zao Gongen into a cherry tree and enshrined it. Kinpusenji Temple is home to this image of Zao Gongen. The temple is also famous for Kane no Torii (銅鳥居), a torii gate made of copper. Kane no Torii is one of the Three Great Torii Gates of Japan. The other two are: the vermilion torii on Miyajima; the stone torii of Shitennoji Temple (大阪四天王寺, Osakashitennoji) in Osaka. Zaodo (the main hall of Kinpusenji Temple) where the principal image is enshrined, is still a center of worship that attracts many worshippers. The Meaning of Hitome Senbon + When to See Cherry Blossoms on Mt. Yoshino There are around 30,000 cherry blossom trees of approximately 200 different varieties on Mt. Yoshino. In the spring, the trees bloom and create an incredible view. The view itself is called "Hitome Senbon," meaning roughly "One thousand cherry blossoms at a glance." The shiroyamazakura (Cerasus jamasakura) usually grow densely. These cherry blossoms can be found all over the mountain. Because there are so many, they're referred to in sections: "Shimosenbon" (lower thousand), "Nakasenbon" (middle thousand), "Kamisenbon" (upper thousand), and "Okusenbon" (inner thousand). The best time to see the cherry blossoms on Mt. Yoshino is from late March to mid-April. Mt. Yoshino's cherry blossoms bloom from the bottom to the top of the mountain and can be enjoyed over a longer period of time. Spots for Viewing Cherry Blossoms on Mt. Yoshino The best spot to see the cherry blossoms on Mt. Yoshino is the Hanayagura observatory (花矢倉展望台, Hanayagura Tenbodai) located in the Kamisenbon area. You can enjoy a panoramic view of Mt. Yoshino from here. Even Mt. Kongo, the border between Nara and Osaka, can be viewed from here. The prospect from Nakasenbon area is also popular. Particularly, if you enter Sanmon Gate (山門, Sanmon) at Yoshimizu Shrine (吉水神社, Yoshimizu Jinja), you can enjoy a view known as "Hitome Senbon." Even Hideyoshi Toyotomi was said to be impressed with this view, so be sure not to miss it! The superb view called "Hitome Senbon" is composed of Someiyoshino, light pink colored cherry blossoms, but there are also Shiroyamazakura which have many different colors, such as white and light red. The variety of colors is one of the reasons for the park's beauty! In the Nakasenbon area, there is a hidden spot for enjoying hanami (cherry blossom viewing). That spot is Nyoirin-ji Temple. This is a good spot for those looking to enjoy the cherry blossoms in a relaxed atmosphere. [Video] 7:23 - Cherry Blossoms at Nyoirinji Temple From the viewing platform in the Shimo-Senbon area, you can see the beautiful cherry blossoms of Nanamagari-zaka. You can also enjoy a wonderful view of the cherry blossoms from the nearby Mt. Yoshino Ropeway. The Tradition of 'Hanami' in Japan "Hanami" (花見) is the Japanese word for "cherry blossom viewing." Every year when spring arrives in Japan and the cherry blossoms begin to bloom, all across Japan you'll find people making preparations to go see them. The tradition's roots can be traced back to famous Japanese warlords from hundreds of years ago, when large banquets were held to appreciate the beauty of the flowers. Even today, cherry blossom parties are held and you can often see people going out to parks, etc. with their friends and families to relax below the beautiful blossoms while enjoying a variety of foods, such as onigiri and mochi, and having fun barbecuing and drinking sake. If you're planning on visiting Japan yourself, we recommend experiencing hanami like the Japanese and doing just this! Pick up some snacks at a nearby store and spend a day appreciating the beauty of nature. Don't forget to take some photos as well! Summary of Cherry Blossoms on Mt. Yoshino During cherry blossom season in Nara, traffic is regulated and parking lots are closed. Because of this, we recommend visiting by bus. During the peak blooming period for the cherry blossoms on Mt. Yoshino, you can even enjoy viewing them at night! There will be illumination events that light up the beautiful flowers. The nighttime scenery is truly magical! Around Mt. Yoshino, you can also enjoy various food. Try the famous Kuzu-Udon or Kakinoha-Zushi for lunch, and go for a hike up the mountains afterwards. You can also relax and take a break with some matcha tea and traditional Japanese sweets while enjoying the cherry blossoms at Nyoirinji Temple! The rooftop hot spring overlooking Suruga Bay is also available for private use once per stay. The hot springs at Umi-no Hotel Isaba can be seen at 0:37 in the video. The rooms are very luxurious and we highly recommend the special room floor "Akane-no-Uta," which was renovated and reopened in July 2020! There is also a beauty spa, souvenir shop, terrace lounge, and lobby, all of which are very beautiful! Why not relax and spend a luxurious holiday at Umi-no Hotel Isaba? Sightseeing Around Umi-no Hotel Isaba Photo:Mihama Cape, Shizuoka Prefecture Nishiizu in Shizuoka Prefecture, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Japan, has many spectacular sightseeing spots. Let's take a look at some of them! ・Mihama Cape Mihama Cape is a cape shaped like a bird's beak, and was formed through the accumulation of sediment carried in by the currents of Suruga Bay. It's also a good fishing ground where you can enjoy fresh seafood at lunch time. ・Deai Misaki Cape This is a great sightseeing spot with a panoramic view of Heda Port, Mihama Cape, and Mt. Fuji. The name "Deai" (出会い) means "encounter" and the monument, from the hole of which you can see Mt. Fuji, signifies a meeting between two lovers. ・Tabibito Misaki Cape Tabibito Misaki Cape is located about 1km north of Matsubara Park on Prefectural Road 17. The beauty of the sunset that can be seen from here is absolutely breathtaking. The name "Tabibito" (旅人) means "traveler(s)." ・Koibito Misaki Cape Koibito Misaki Cape is a cape along Route 136, approximately 8 km south of Toi Onsen. "Koibito" (恋人) means "lovers," and, as its name suggests, it's a popular location among couples as a power spot for romance. It is said that couples who take a photo with the "I Love You" hand-sign statue on the cape or get a certificate of declaration of love from the Koibito Cape Office are said to have a better chance of achieving a successful relationship. (Whether or not you believe that is entirely up to you...)
