Akita - One of the Most Famous Cherry Blossom Sites in the World This video, titled "KAKUNODATE|A Famous Cherry Blossom Spot in Tohoku|Bukeyashiki Street and Hinokinai River Bank, Akita|4K UHD Cherry Blossoms, Akita Tohoku Japan" (KAKUNODATE 東北の桜名所 秋田・角館武家屋敷通りと桧木内川堤の桜並木 4K UHD Cherry Blossoms, Akita Tohoku Japan), was uploaded by "Japan Videography." Cherry blossoms are now a popular flower all over the world, but many of them were selectively bred in Japan and have been designated as protected species. The Yoshino Cherry, which came to be in the Edo period (1603 to 1868) is exported the most around the world and many people enjoy viewing it during the blooming season because of its beauty. Japan is said to be a mecca for cherry blossom fans around the world, which means that Japan's cherry blossom viewing spots are some of the best in the world. This is a 4K video showing Yoshino Cherry trees along Kakunodate's Bukeyashiki (武家屋敷, Samurai Residence) Street and the Hinokinai River in Akita Prefecture, which are said to have the most beautiful rows of weeping cherry trees in Japan. Enjoy the beautiful footage of the entire area dyed pink. The History of Bukeyashiki Street in Kakunodate Source :YouTube screenshot As you can see from 0:39 in the video, Bukeyashiki Street in Kakunodate is a sightseeing destination in Semboku, Akita. The samurai residences of the Edo Period stand side by side in a 2 km radius, and in the spring, beautiful weeping cherries on the stylish black fences, decorate the street. Bukeyashiki Street in Kakunodate is called "the Little Kyoto of Michinoku" and every year during the cherry blossom season, many tourists from both Japan and abroad come to enjoy the contrast between the gorgeous weeping cherries and solemn samurai residences. Kakunodate is a historical castle town that has thrived since the Edo period. Akita was ruled by the Satake clan, and the Kakunodate of today is the domain of Satake Yoshichika who was the first deputy of the Satake Clan of Kakunodate, and his birthplace still retains its former appearance. The history of Kakunodate as a cherry blossom site began when the feudal lord of the Satake domain who loved cherry blossoms brought in a weeping cherry from Kyoto and planted in his garden. Now, there are approximately 400 cherry blossoms stretching from Bukeyashiki Street in Kakunodate to Hinokinai River. It has also been selected as one of the top 100 cherry blossom sites in Japan. You can see weeping cherries filling Bukeyashiki Street from 1:26 in the video. The Yoshino Cherries Along Akita's Hinokinai Riverbank Source :YouTube screenshot The Hinokinai Riverbank, shown from 3:04 in the video, is a bank built along the Hinokinai River, that runs behind Bukeyashiki Street. Unlike the weeping cherries on Bukeyashiki Street, the ones planted here are Yoshino Cherries. The Yoshino Cherries on the banks of Hinokinai River were first planted in 1934 to commemorate the birth of the Emperor. Why not visit to enjoy the beautiful cherry blossoms and experience the history of Japan? Festivals in Kakunodate Photo:Cherry blossom tunnel, Akita Prefecture A Cherry blossom festival is held in Kakunodate every year during the bloom. You can enjoy a lot of fun activities, such as cherry blossom viewing, fishing for sweetfish, the local specialty "Hinai Jidori" Oyakodon, "Inaniwa Udon," beautiful Japanese sweets, the Kakunodate Birch Textile Museum, passing through a cherry blossom tunnel via rickshaw, and viewing illuminated cherry blossom at night. There are shops where you can rent kimono as well. Exploring the historical streets of Kakunodate while donning a kimono is sure to make your trip memorable! Summary of Kakunodate Source :YouTube screenshot The cherry blossoms along Bukeyashiki Street in Kakunodate and Hinokinai River in Akita have been designated a National Site of Scenic Beauty. Akita is located in the northwestern part of Honshu, so the cherry blossoms bloom later than the Kanto region. Introducing Gifu Prefecture's "Monet's Pond"! First of all, let’s take a look at the video "[4K Ultra HD] Monet's Pond - The pond, such as Monet paintings (Shot on RED EPIC)([ 4K Ultra HD ] モネの池 The pond, such as Monet paintings (Shot on RED EPIC))". Many of you may be surprised by the beauty of the video. This video introduces Monet's pond, a popular tourist spot in Seki City (関市, Seki shi), Gifu Prefecture, Tokai region. The beautiful spring pond in Gifu Prefecture is said to be visited by many tourists from Tokyo and Osaka. The beauty can be enjoyed in videos and images in this article. Colorful water lilies, kohone leaves, and clear water are just some of what's introduced in this 3-minute video. What Is Monet's Pond? Photo:Gold carp Monet's pond is an (officially) unnamed pond about the size of a tennis court made of spring water around Nemichi Shrine (根道神社, Nemichi jinja) in the mountains. It was popularized through TV programs and word of mouth as the “Water Lilies" of famous French painter Claude Monet. The beautiful Monet pond where colored carp (錦鯉, Nishikigoi) swim through the transparent pond is great for Instagram photos. There are koi whose head pattern looks like a heart symbol in the pond and a gold carp for luck as well. The History of Monet's Pond In 1999, the nearby flower seedling producers weeded and some carp were brought in by locals. It's purpose was not sightseeing, so it was mere chance that such natural beauty came to be. Golden Week in 2016 attracted 3,000 tourists per day. Highlights and Recommended Seasons for Visiting Monet's Pond Photo:Monet's Pond The best time to visit Monet's Pond to experience its full beauty is during the fall when you can enjoy the magnificent view of the autumn leaves reflected in the pond. This can be seen from 1:10 in the video. We also recommend going in early May when the greenery is fresh or in the winter when the snow has created a beautiful snowscape. As the appearance will change considerably depending on the weather, we recommend avoiding rainy days and going at night. Traffic access to Monet's pond is about 35 minutes from Mino IC on the Tokai Hokuriku Expressway. You can also go to Gifu Prefecture through a sightseeing bus tour around Monet's pond and other surrounding areas. Sightseeing at "Monet's Pond" Photo:Grilled sweetfish There are shops selling the famous "chimaki" (a dumpling wrapped in bamboo leaf) in the area around Monet's pond, so definitely don't miss out on it! We also recommend having the specialty eel or sweetfish (ayu cuisine) lunch at Seki City. When visiting Monet's pond, you can visit the Gifu Prefecture Hundred Year Park, Kasuga Shrine, Asakurayama Promenade, Kifune Shrine, Kaore Valley, Takaga Valley, Seki Kaji Densyokan, Koka Shrine Horado Enku Memorial Hall, Road Station “Rusten Hola Do,” and more. In Seki City, Gifu Prefecture, the Itadori Hydrangea Festival is held in early summer, so be sure to visit Flower Park Itatori when the hydrangeas are at their best. Summary of Monet's Pond This time, we introduced a 4K video of Monet's pond as beautiful as an impressionist painting. Monet's Pond is perfect for those who want to enjoy the charming scenic beauty created by nature, as well as for photography lovers. Book a hotel in Seki City and set out on a sightseeing trip to enjoy the best views. If you like the artistic scenery of Monet's pond, we recommend visiting Monet's garden in Kitagawa Village, Kochi Prefecture. The landscape of Monet's pond changes depending on the weather. We recommend that you check the weather on the day of sightseeing so that you aren't disappointed because you weren't able to see it at its most beautiful. ◆Monet's pond◆ 【Address】 〒501-2901 1643-17 Itadori Kamigase, Seki City, Gifu Prefecture 【Access】About 35 minutes from Tokai Hokuriku Expressway Mino IC 【Closures】None 【Average time spent here】1-2 hours 【Parking】200 ordinary cars 【Telephone No】0581-57-2111 【Entrance fee】Free 【Notes】Feeding the fish is prohibited. Cherry Blossoms, Rape Blossoms, and Blue Skies at Gongendo Park in Beautiful 8k! This video, titled "8K - Gongendo Park - Saitama - 権現堂堤," was released by "TokyoStreetView - Japan The Beautiful." The video shows the contrast between the pink of the cherry blossoms and the yellow of the rape blossoms in 8K video. With the addition of the clear blue skies, you can enjoy a beautiful tri-color cherry blossom viewing experience! Gongendo Park, located in Satte, Saitama Prefecture (埼玉県幸手市, Saitama-ken Satte-shi) in Japan's Kanto region, is one of the most popular and Instagram-worthy cherry blossom viewing spots in Japan's Kanto region. According to documents from the late Edo Period (~1750-1860 A.D.), the name of Gongendo Park comes from the fact that there were three "Gongen" in the village. Located within Gongendo Park in Uchigouma, Satte, Saitama Prefecture, a field of rape blossoms spreads out beneath a 1km long embankment of blooming cherry blossoms. The Satte Cherry Blossom Festival at Gongendo Park, Satte, Saitama Prefecture - One of the Best Cherry Blossom Viewing Spots in Japan’s Kanto Region! Photo:Gongendo Park, Saitama Prefecture Gongendo Park in Satte, Saitama Prefecture, hosts the Satte Cherry Blossom Festival from late March, when the cherry blossoms start to bloom, until early April, when they are in full bloom. You can view the cherry blossoms in full bloom from the beginning of the video. During the Satte Cherry Blossom Festival, there are around 100 booths, as well as marathon races, haiku contests, and many other fun events. The rows of cherry blossoms and Sotono Bridge over the Nakagawa River are lit up beautifully at night. As a famous place for all-day cherry blossom viewing, it attracts local, domestic, and even foreign tourists. The scenery of the cherry blossom tunnel made up of approximately 1,000 Someiyoshino cherry trees, coupled with the field of rape blossoms is highly regarded, and has been selected as one of the "Top 100 Hometown Prides of Saitama for the 21st Century." The prefectural park where Gongendo Park is located has a large parking lot, so if you're planning on coming by car you can rest assured there will more than likely be parking available. During the Satte Cherry Blossom Festival, there is a fee for parking, so coming via public transportation is also fine. If you don't like crowds and want to enjoy the cherry blossoms at your own pace, we recommend checking out the Nakagawa Miyuki Observation Live Cameras. Information on bloom conditions is also available on the Gongendo Park official website, so be sure to check it out. There's More Than Cherry Blossoms! Gongendo Park Is a Famous Place in Satte, Saitama Prefecture, with Flowers That Bloom All Year Round! Photo:Hydrangeas Gongendo Park is famous for its cherry blossoms, but it's like a completely new wonderland of flowers in every season. After the cherry blossom and rape blossom seasons introduced in the video, the hydrangeas are quick to follow! Around 15,000 hydrangeas of 100 different varieties bring life to Gongendo Park, making them the main attraction during the rainy season. On the last day of the Satte Hydrangea Festival, pruned hydrangeas are given away to visitors as gifts. In the fall, millions of red spider lilies begin to bloom. The "Red Spider Lily Festival" is also held here. In 2014, there were around 1 million red spider lilies, but now there are approximately 5 million! In winter, there's a Daffodil Festival at Gongendo Park as well. In 2020 there were sunflowers planted in the rape blossom fields and it became a widely talked about event. Gongendo Park is also very popular with the media! In 2007, Gongendo Park won the Flower Tourism Award in the "Flower Tourism Development Awards" (花の観光地づくり大賞, Hana no kankouchi-zukuri Taisho) sponsored by the Japan Tourism Association. The Secrets of Gongendo Park in Satte City, Saitama Prefecture! A Tidbit on Gongendo’s Hidden Gem! Photo:Goats at Gongendo Park, Saitama Prefecture Flowers are not the only attraction of Gongendo Park. Gongendo Park was developed to be a "recreational center and a place to enjoy playing in water," and is made up of four different zones. In addition to the Satte Gongendo Cherry Blossom Embankment (幸手権現堂堤) (Park No. 4), which is famous for its cherry blossoms and beautiful waterfront, there's also the Multipurpose Athletic Grounds (多目的運動広場) (Park No. 1) with a full range of playground equipment, and Gongendo Park (権現堂公園) (Park No. 3), which is a popular place for relaxation and enjoying a beautiful field of grass and nature. There's also a goat pen somewhere in these three parks, so keep your eyes peeled for it! After relaxing with the playful goats, we recommend taking a break at "Toge-no-Chaya," a teahouse located in the center of the Gongendo Park. Their homemade bread is a hit! Gongendo Park Is Full of Attractions, but as You Might Expect, the Cherry Blossoms Are the Main Event! Summary of Gongendo Park Photo:Cherry blossoms at Gongendo Park, Saitama Prefecture Gongendo Park shows a different face in each season, with each having its own unique charm. All of the flowers at Gongendo Park are beautiful, but the contrast between the cherry blossoms and rape blossoms is truly something else. In the Meiji Period (1868-1912 A.D.), there were around 3,000 cherry trees in the area, but during the war years they were cut down to be used for fuel. Introducing the Beauty of Toyama- The “Sparkling Firefly Squid” This time, we introduce a rare video called "The Mysterious Lights of Firefly Squid(富山湾、ホタルイカの身投げ (Mysterious Lights of Firefly Squid))". Firefly squids are a creature with a special characteristic where the tip of their tentacle emits a pale bluish light. As you can see in the video, the firefly squid gather on the dark beach at night and emit blue light, it's a very romantic scene. The Mysterious Lights of Toyama Photo:full moon The Mysterious Lights of Firefly Squid is a phenomenon in which a firefly squid comes close to the coast for spawning and is launched onto the beach by the power of the waves. The lights of Toyama's firefly squid cannot be seen easily unless the conditions, weather, and time allow it. The phenomenon occurs at midnight in early spring (March to May), near the mouth of the Jinzu River or the Hayatsuki River, and frequently occurs on high tide days with gentle waves. It is said that the firefly squid loses direction on a moonless day, so they are more likely wash ashore before and after the new moon. From 0:38 in the video, you can see many firefly squids rushing to the beach. How to Observe the Mysterious Lights of Firefly Squid Source :YouTube screenshot During the spring season, firefly squid fishing boats sail around Toyama Bay. In the Namerikawa area, there are also fixed shore nets in the Namerikawa fishing port. The place where the firefly squid swarm is also a nationally designated special natural monument. If you want to see the firefly squid in action, take a firefly squid marine sightseeing boat. Since it is possible to collect firefly squid brought to the beach without a fishing license, we recommend taking a sightseeing tour of firefly squid throwing and scooping. From 0:06 in the video, many people have nets, and you can watch a video of people fishing for firefly squid in shallow water. Tasting Toyama's Firefly Squid Photo:Firefly squid with vinegar miso Spring is a season when many firefly squid come to the shore. After challenging firefly squid scooping, it's time to eat the local specialty of Toyama. In addition to raw firefly squid, recipes such as boiled firefly squid with vinegar miso are also exquisite. Summary of the Mysterious Lights of Toyama The appearance of the pale light at 0:59 in the video is exactly what is referred to as the "jewel of the sea." Watching the shimmering firefly squid on the sandy beaches of Yaezuhama shoreline will surely be an extraordinary experience. You can also get some great Instagram photos at the photo locations shown at1:32 in the video. -

Adorable capybaras enjoying the hot springs! Capybaras are the largest members of the rodent family, and the video 「みんなで入浴 カピバラ温泉~桶風呂~始めました! 2017.12.5(埼玉県こども動物自然公園 公式/SaitamaChildrensZoo official )capybara onsen』, created by 「埼玉県こども動物自然公園(SaitamaChildrensZoo)」compiles scenes of capybaras enjoying bathing in the hot springs. These scenes of six capybaras considerately entering the hot springs together will warm your heart. The video has also become popular, not only among the Japanese, but also with people from overseas. What are the capybaras introduced in the video, and why are they in the hot springs? Photo:Capybaras Capybaras are members of the rodent family, and can be found from Panama in South America, all the way to Northeast Argentina. With calm and gentle personalities, capybaras are also popular as pets, and are the largest members of the rodent family, growing up to 106 to 134 centimeters. Males weigh around 77 to 141 pounds, while females weigh around 81 to 145 kilograms. Being proficient swimmers, capybaras tend to escape to the water once they sense approaching danger. They can remain underwater for up to 5 minutes. Although the water is their shelter and haven, due to their warm natural habitat, capybaras are weak to the cold. As a countermeasure to combat cold winters, the “Capybara Hot Springs” was created. The Capybara Hot Springs and the Saitama Children’s Zoo Source :YouTube screenshot The Saitama Children’s Zoo holds a “Capybara Hot Springs” event every year. The event lasts from November through March, with the location being at the Capybara/Wallaby enclosure. Pools built to look like rock baths are filled with water warmed to a suitable temperature by the sun. Besides the unique springs such as the yuzu bath, a waterfall bath and tub bath are also prepared. The video begins with five capybaras heading towards the hot springs. Of the five, three enter the bath with floating yuzu, one makes for the smaller tub bath, and the last heads for the waterfall bath. Without any jostling or competition for space, the atmosphere is calm and peaceful. From 1:22 in the video, another capybara appears. The scene of this capybara unobtrusively lowering itself backside-first into the yuzu bath is extremely heartwarming. From 1:43 in the video, the capybara in the waterfall bath can be seen wiping its face, and from 1:53 is seen staring peacefully into space, contently settling into the water. The fact that these capybaras act just like little humans will bring a smile to your face. In the Saitama Children’s Zoo, you can enjoy viewing the capybaras while warming your feet in the foot baths. Why not stop by and enjoy the relaxing hot springs together with the capybaras? Saitama Children’s Zoo Photo:Saitama Children’s Zoo Saitama Children’s Zoo is a spacious park located in Saitama Prefecture, Higashi-Matsuyama City in Japan's Kanto region (関東地方・埼玉県東松山市, Kanto-chiho・Saitama-ken Higashi-matsuyama-shi). Besides the zoo, the park also boasts the "Children’s Castle" (こどもの城, Kodomo no jo) as well as a large playground (みんなの広場, Minna no hiroba) where children can run around and play. In the playground is the “Adventure Forest Athletics” area (冒険の森アスレチック, Bouken-no-mori asurechikku) as well as the “Shabu-shabu Pond” (じゃぶじゃぶ池, Shabu-shabu ike) with water activites. Here, children can enjoy playing and being active. In the animal area, pony-riding as well as animal-feeding activities are available. Introduction of Obihiro Zoo’s Japanese Raccoon Dogs! This video, “しぐさが可愛い!おびひろ動物園のタヌキが人気に” (Too cute! The Popular Raccon Dogs of Obihiro Zoo!), is an interview-style video first televised on HTB News. In the video, “buried raccoon dogs”, the adorable sight of raccoon dogs playing in the pool of fallen leaves prepared by the zoo’s staff, is shown. But just why are the raccoon dogs of Obihiro Zoo (おびひろ動物園, Obihiro dobutsuen) burying into the fallen leaves? In this article, we will introduce these animals along with a video of the adorable raccoon dogs peeking out from the fallen leaves. Obihiro Zoo's Raccoon Dogs Source :YouTube screenshot The raccoon dogs shown in the video are named An and Shiro. Originally, the zoo staff had hidden food in the fallen leaves. However, the raccoon dogs continued to bury themselves comfortably in the pool of leaves, as shown in the video, due to the warmth provided by it. The adorable sight of their faces peeking out from amongst the leaves can be seen from 0:25 in the video. This video of the raccoon dogs playing in the pool of leaves was posted on Twitter by zoo staff, and began to trend on social media sites. What Are Japanese Raccoon Dogs? Source :YouTube screenshot Japanese raccoon dogs are a member of the Canidae family, and are a Japanese subspecies of the Asian raccoon dog. They can be found in certain areas of Hokkaido. Japanese raccoon dogs grow to a length of about 50 centimeters and weight about 4 to 8 kilograms. Those living in the wild have a lifespan of 6 to 8 years. They are mostly nocturnal, and subsist on an omnivorous diet of fruits, insects, and meat. The ezo tanuki species of Hokkaido is said to be different from the hondo tanuki species found in other areas of Japan. Japanese raccoon dogs come under the Wildlife Protection and Hunting Act of Japan, and cannot be raised as pets without special permission. Let’s Visit the Zoo to See the Japanese Raccoon Dogs! Source :YouTube screenshot The raccoon dogs can be seen in Obihiro Zoo, as introduced in the video. However, as mentioned at 0:44 in the video, the zoo closes for a certain period of time during the winter season, so do make sure to confirm the opening days before visiting. In recent years, the “natural behavior display”, where visitors can observe the behavior of animals in their natural habitat, has become a popular display method in zoos. In Hokkaido, besides Obihiro Zoo, zoos such as the popular Asahiyama Zoo (旭山動物園, Asahiyama dobutsuen) and Sapporo City Maruyama Zoo (札幌市円山動物園, Sappro-shi maruyama dobutsuen) also make use of such displays. In the souvenir shop of the zoo, you can purchase adorable raccoon dog plush toys as well. Summary of Japanese Raccoon Dogs at Obihiro Zoo In this one-minute video, you can get a sense of just how adorable and charming the Japanese raccoon dogs are. As seen from 0:50 in the video, as the season begins to change to winter, the raccoon dogs’ fur grows out rapidly and becomes soft and fluffy. For those who want to view this adorable sight, definitely pay a visit to Obihiro Zoo in the winter. 【Official Website】Obihiro Zoo | Obihiro City Homepage Tokachi https://www.city.obihiro.hokkaido.jp/zoo/ -

The Beautiful Sight of 1,200 Brilliant Hydrangeas in Full Bloom! Take a Moment to Relax and Enjoy the Nature, History, and Culture of Sendai, Miyagi!

Sendai’s Hydrangea Temple- Shifukuji (寺資福寺, Shikufuji) This video, "「[4K]Ajisai Temple 仙台のあじさい寺・資福寺に咲く1200株の紫陽花 hydrangea flower in the shifukuji temple, Miyagi Japan」," introduces the Shifukuji Temple, where hydrangeas bloom during Japan's rainy season. Shikufuji Temple, also known as the Hydrangea Temple (あじさい寺, Ajisai-dera), is located in Kitayama, Aoba Ward, Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture in the Tohoku region of Japan (Miyagi-ken Sendai-shi Aoba-ku Kitayama). The temple is formally known as the Shiunzan Shikifu-ji Zen Temple (慈雲山 資福禅寺, Shiunzan Shikifu-zen-dera) of the Myoshinji Sect of the Rinzai school of Buddhism (臨済宗妙心寺派, Rinzai-shu Myoshinji-ha). As suggested by the name “Hydrangea Temple,” Shikifuji Temple is known for its more than 1,200 bunches of blooming hydrangeas. The temple is a popular sightseeing destination in Sendai. An especially popular and Insta-worthy spot is the hydrangea-lined path leading to the sanmon gate. This can be seen at 0:56 in the video. Shikifuji Temple (Hydrangea Temple) has a long and rich history. It was originally constructed in Takahata Town, Yamagata Prefecture (山形県高畠町, Yamagata-ken Takahata-machi) in the Tohoku region of Japan. During the Warring States period (1467~1615), Kosai Soitsu (虎哉宗乙, Kosai Soitsu) became the chief priest of the temple. After Kosai became the educator of Sendai’s feudal lord Date Masamune (伊達政宗, Date Masamune), the temple was moved to Sendai. The ruins of the former Shikifuji Temple can still be found in Takahata Town, along with the graves of Date Masamune’s ancestors and Endo Motonobu (遠藤基信, Endo Motonobu), one of the Date clan’s chief vassals. Shikifuji Temple is also known for the statue of Ninomiya Sontoku (二宮金次郎, Ninomiya Sontoku). Access to Sendai’s Hydrangea Temple Photo:Shifukuji・Hydrangeas Parking spaces are available behind the Main Hall of Shikifuji Temple. However, as the roads leading to the temple are narrow, we recommend that visitors take public transportation such as buses. The peak viewing season for the hydrangeas is late June, and many events, such as matcha-tasting at Shoshoin (小書院, Shoshoin), are held. However, as many visitors congregate during this time, it can be difficult to find a free parking space. In addition, a zen meditation session is held on the 1st of every month. This is also a popular event that draws many visitors. The Hydrangeas of Sendai’s Hydrangea Temple Photo:Shifukuji・Hydrangeas Hydrangeas bloom during Japan's rainy season, and appear in shades of white, purple, blue and red from May to July. They grow to about 1m to 2m. In Japan, they symbolize both a young girl’s love or persevering love, as well as the opposing meaning of capriciousness and betrayal. The latter meaning is thought to be derived from the fact that the flowers’ color changes depending on the quality of the soil. The colorful cluster which is frequently mistaken for flowers is actually the calyx of the hydrangea, with the flower petals hidden in the middle of the cluster. This is where pollination occurs and seeds are formed. The hydrangea is native to Japan, China, Taiwan and South America. They are deciduous shrubs of the Hydrangeacae family, and are also known as the Western hydrangea. The various species of hydrangea include the hydrangea macrophylla f. macrophylla, hydrangea quercifolia, hydrangea serrata, as well as the hydrangea macrophylla f. normalis. Cultivating Hydrangeas Photo:A potted Hydrangea The cultivation and care of hydrangeas is fairly simple, making it great plant even for beginners at gardening. For potting, first cut 2 centimeters off the stem of the hydrangea. Place the cut stem in water for about 30 minutes. In the meantime, place a net at the bottom of the pot, then fill the pot with Kanuma soil or Akadama soil and then moisten it. Next, create an opening to insert the cut stem. In about one month’s time, roots will grow. After the roots have grown sufficiently, transfer the shrub to a large pot. Place the pot in a place with plenty of sunlight, water the shrub frequently, and the hydrangea will grow healthily. View Hydrangeas at Sendai’s Hydrangea Temple! Photo:Shifukuji・Hydrangeas How about it? Revitalize yourself and enjoy the sight of colorful hydrangea at the Hydrangea Temple! Furthermore, besides the hydrangea season, during other times of the year, you can enjoy the majestic bamboo forest as well! There is even a goshuin (commemorative seal stamp) available. This can be seen at 1:50 in the video. ◆Shikifuji Temple Overview of Facilities◆ 【Address】〒981-0931 Miyagi Prefecture Sendai City Aoba Ward Kitayama 1-13-1 【Access】12 minutes walking from Kita-Sendai Station on the JR Senzan Line (仙山線 北仙台駅, Senzan-sen Kita-sendai-eki) 【Parking】Free, with around 50 spots available 【Telephone No.】022-234-5730 【Tripadvisor】Shikifuji Temple https://www.tripadvisor.jp/Attraction_Review-g298249-d14920878-Reviews-Shifuku_ji_Temple-Sendai_Miyagi_Prefecture_Tohoku.html -
