(HSR九州 モースポフェス 白バイvs CB750F② 白バイ隊員の神業的ライテク), shows the incredible skills displayed at the Honda Safety & Riding Motor Sports Festival in Kyushu. In this MO-SPO Festival, one category in particular is grabbing peoples’ attention: the godly performance by the shiro-bai police officers. Firstly, take a look at the video to see the awesome techniques of the shiro-bai police officers that protect Japan. More About Japan's Shiro-bai Photo:Shiro-bai and police officers In Japan, since 1918 (when shiro-bai (white motorcyles) were first introduced to the metropolitan police department), police officers have used shiro-bai to enforce traffic regulations. In addition to traffic regulation enforcement and patrols, shiro-bai is used as a leading vehicle in marathons and long-distance relay races. The shiro-bai at the imperial guard headquarters however, is used exclusively to escort and protect important figures. The shiro-bai has various equipment such as a “speed-measuring indicator” that measures the speed of vehicles exceeding the posted speed limit. Some other features of the shiro-bai is a siren and a speaker used for voicing warnings. Training and Improving Shiro-bai Techniques Photo:Shiro-bai and police officer Shiro-bai police officers belong to the Traffic Police Force and gain the right to be trained to ride a shiro-bai only after they have passed the required examinations. The Traffic Police Force devote tremendous effort to their shiro-bai training in order to prevent accidents. The large motorcycle used as a shiro-bai is very big. In order to drive freely on public roads, police officers repeatedly undergo training such as figure eight runs and wheelie tests in addition to daily practice routines such as acceleration and corner turning. The "CB750F" Shiro-bai Photo:Shiro-bai Honda’s CB750F is one type of shiro-bai used by the Japanese police. The CB750F used by the Traffic Police Force is highly popular among motorcycle fans and is the focus of many MO-SPO Festivals. As you can see in the video, their performance in the MO-SPO Festival is very graceful and thrilling to watch. You can observe the arrest from 1:00 in the video. Next, we see the graceful performances of the shiro-bai from 2:11 in the video. Test Ride Japan's Futuristic Maglev Train! This video, titled "2015/06/12 JR Tokai Maglev traveling at 500 kmph (311mph) in Japan" was uploaded by "kellypicturesjp." When most people think of transportation in Japan they think of the Shinkansen, Japan's first rate bullet train. However, in the not-so-distant future, the new and improved Maglev train is due to be unveiled. JR Tokai's (JR東海) plans for a Tokyo-Nagoya-Osaka Maglev train route are already well under way. In 2015, a Maglev test ride event was held which allowed passengers to experience riding the Maglev before being unveiled to the public. In this video, you too can experience what it's like to take a trip on the Maglev, travelling at an amazing 500km/h. Maglev Test Ride Footage Source :YouTube screenshot The participants of this test ride event previously applied to take part and were chosen through a raffle. The Maglev runs a 43 km course at the test center in Tsuru city, Yamanashi Prefecture. This particular train is a 7 car L0 series Maglev. You can see the speed of the Maglev as it runs with the small screen at the bottom right of the video. Check out the video to get a taste of what it feels like to travel at 500 km/h! From 0:40 in the video you can check out the view from the train window alongside the view from the front of the train on a smaller screen. You can watch as the speed gradually increases until the Maglev reaches 500km/h, just after 3:54 in the video, 14.25 km into the test run. When Will the Maglev Be Unveiled to the Public? Source :YouTube screenshot In 2027, the Maglev will run the Chuo Shinkansen Line (a route that cuts across central Japan) for the first time, changing the world of rail transport as we known it. At first, the Maglev will run from Tokyo's Shinagawa station (品川駅) to Nagoya station (名古屋駅) which will take approximately 40 minutes. After that, the line will be extended to Osaka (大阪), a route which is estimated to take approximately 67 minutes (from Shinagawa station). Eventually, the Maglev is intended to run from Shinagawa Station to Nara prefecture's Hashimoto Station (奈良県の橋本駅), pass through the Japanese Alps by tunnel, with stops in Yamanashi Prefecture (山梨県), Shizuoka Prefecture (静岡県), Nagano Prefecture (長野県), and Gifu Prefecture (岐阜県), finally arriving at Nagoya station. The Nagoya Station – Osaka Station route is planned to pass through Nara prefecture making it a possibility to travel to Nara from Tokyo without the need to transfer. More About the Maglev and Its History So Far Photo:linear motor train Ultra high speed railway plans have been in place since the days of the Japan National Railways, at which time research into the superconducting Maglev (超伝導リニア) also began. JR Tokai has currently constructed a Maglev test route which you can see in the video. The footage was filmed at the Maglev test center in Tsuru city, Yamanashi prefecture. Test runs of the L0 series Maglev train have been being conducted since 2013. Take a Trip to the Maglev Test Center! The Maglev test center in Yamanashi prefecture currently operates Maglev test rides for the public. If you wish to only observe the train, booking in advance is not necessary. At the Maglev test center you can learn more about the history of the train and how it is constructed. If you're lucky, you might even be able to catch a glimpse of the train as it's running. The Maglev train runs by electrically charged coils which enable the train to levitate above the tracks using magnets. This allows the train to run at high speeds without the damage that occurs due to friction of the wheels on the tracks. In Japan, the Maglev is still in the trial stages, however in Shanghai, the Maglev train is already in use. Japanese Maglev Test Ride Event Introduction Summary Source :YouTube screenshot It's amazing to think that the Maglev, a train that most people would have only imagined could exist in sci-fi books, is soon to become a reality! The Maglev is still under construction, but why not try a test run? You can also take some great photos for social media! Enjoy high-speed travel at 500km/h! -

Introducing JAF Tow Trucks and Car Transporters This video, titled "(Vehicle Guide) JAF Tow Truck and Car Transporter" (【のりもの図鑑】レッカー車・積載車(JAFの車)), was broadcast on the t.v. show "Go! Go! Norimono town!" (ゴーゴー!のりものタウン!), on the Kids Station (キッズステーション) t.v. channel. (*Norimono means vehicle in Japanese). JAF's tow truck is used to move broken down vehicles and repair them. They can repair a large range of vehicles as well. The tow truck, made by manufacturers such as Tomica, is a very popular toy with kids. The toy version of the truck also comes with a loading apparatus used to repair and move broken down vehicles. More About JAF Source :YouTube screenshot JAF (Japan Automobile Federation) is an organization that deals with various automobile related requests and problems, including breakdowns. They also hold several sporting events throughout the year. It costs 4,000 yen a year to become a JAF member. If you were to request roadside assistance and were not already a member, you would have to pay the joining fee and membership fee on top of the cost of the repairs at the time of the request. However, If you are already a member, JAF will repair your vehicle at no extra cost, however fuel and battery charges still apply. Tow Truck Breakdown Repair Source :YouTube screenshot From 1:52 in the video, you can see staff at the JAF call center take various requests from customers requesting assistance. As soon as a call comes in, a tow truck is sent to the site. After arriving at the scene, the customer is asked a variety of questions, and if the vehicle cannot be fixed on site it will be towed. At 3:14 in the video, you can see a boom truck lift up a car with its crane. Using the crane, the JAF staff can lift the car and have it ready for transportation in around 20 minutes. A pivot arm is used to lift the front wheels and fix them in place. The rear wheels and steering wheel are then fixed in place, ready to be pulled away by the JAF vehicle. Due to safety concerns, a special license is required to lift and tow vehicles weighing more than 750kg. Types of Tow Trucks Source :YouTube screenshot There are five additional types of tow trucks in addition to the regularly used JAF tow truck. At 4:59 in the video, you can see a car transporter towing away a large vehicle that a regular tow truck would be incapable of transporting. From 6:03, we see a multi-purpose tow truck transporting motorbikes. There are also two trucks capable of driving down narrow roads, two-wheeled vehicles that can filter through traffic, and four-wheel drive vehicles that can traverse through the mountains. The Difference Between a Tow Truck and a Car Transporter Photo:Car transporter The difference between a tow truck and a car transporter lies in whether or not the broken down car is loaded onto the vehicle or towed from behind. A car transporter is capable of loading a broken down car onto the vehicle, reducing any risk of damage to the car and its large size, allowing for multiple cars to be loaded onto the vehicle at one time. Car transporters are often used to transport brand new vehicles or when moving homes. JAF Tow Truck and Car Transporter Summary Source :YouTube screenshot We hope you enjoyed learning more about the JAF tow truck, a vehicle you might see often while you're in Japan. For our readers with cars, we recommend looking up JAF services online for when you find yourself in need of assistance. 【Official Website】JAF Road Service Car (Tow Truck) https://english.jaf.or.jp/?_ga=2.56236011.1793953263.1594781068-1575817741.1593570784 -

The Sagano Romantic Train Running Between Sagano, Kyoto and Kameoka This video, titled "Sagano Romantic Train [4K] Feel the Pale Pink of Spring on the Sagano Romantic Train" (嵯峨野観光鉄道【4K】薄桃色の春を散らしながら走るトロッコ列車), was created by "eo official." It introduces the Sagano Romantic Train that runs through the beautiful cherry blossom of Hozukyo, Kyoto. The Sagano Romantic Train is a small, simple, red and black sightseeing train that runs at a speed of about 25 km/h. Because it moves slow, you can enjoy the seasonal views along the Hozu River (保津川, Hozugawa) making it one of the most popular tourist spots in Kyoto. In this article, we'll introduce the history of the Sagano Romantic Train, as well as tourist information, alongside the video. Before reading on, we recommend taking a look at the beautiful, windowless, open carriage Sagano Romantic Train "Sagano Rich" that runs through Hozukyo Gorge in spring. What is the Sagano Romantic Train? Photo:The Sagano Romantic Train, Arashiyama, Kyoto The Sagano Romantic Train was opened in 1991 after the JR Sanin Line, which was no longer in use, was converted to a double track. Since then, it has been a popular sightseeing train in Kyoto, where you can enjoy the magnificent views of the Hozu River valley in all four seasons, including cherry blossoms, fresh greenery, autumn leaves, and winter scenery, as well as the unusual rocks of the Hozu River, such as Magoroku Rock, Lion Rock and Frog Rock. Sagano Romantic Train "Sagano Rich," an open carriage with no windows, is especially popular because the seats are made of wooden chairs, and you can enjoy the nostalgic atmosphere of the train car and the surrounding scenery while feeling the breeze. You can see the inside of the train at 1:00 in the video. Recommended sightseeing course of Sagano Torokko train Photo:Togetsukyo Bridge, Arashiyama, Kyoto The Sagano Romantic Train runs from Saga Torokko Station to Kameoka Torokko Station, with Hozukyo Torokko Station and Arashiyama Torokko Station along the way. JR Sugano Station and Saga Torokko Station are next to one other, so we recommend getting on a train to Kameoka Torokko Station and going back on the Hozu River boat ride and enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Oi River, Togetsukyo Bridge, and Arashiyama. The standard fare for the Sagano Romantic Train is ¥630 for adults, regardless of route. The trains are closed during the winter season from December 30 to the end of February and on Wednesdays. You can book a ticket online, at stations, and at travel agencies. Reservations can be checked online, and same-day tickets are also available. For the latest information and timetables, please check the official website. A railway diorama and steam locomotive D51 are exhibited at SL square at Saga Torokko Station. In addition, original goods of the trains, etc. are sold at the station shop. These make the perfect souvenirs. What is the best time to see and see cherry blossoms in Hozukyo from Sagano Torokko train? "There are about 700 cherry blossoms along the Sagano Torokko train line, and you can enjoy fireworks for about 25 minutes along with the view of Hozugawa River from the train." I recommend Sakura Tunnel from the first car, and you can also feel like a driver.Especially, you must see the Sakura Tunnel in front of Torokko Kameoka Station. The best time to see cherry blossoms in Hozukyo from the Sagano Torokko train is usually from late March to early April. It seems that it was in full bloom around March 25th in 2023. On the official website of Sagano Torokko train, there is also a "Sakura Map" with highlights written on it, and on SNS, there are announcements such as blooming conditions and special trains running through the illuminated Sakura Tunnel." Similarly, AKANE, another high-speed ferry of Sado Steam Ship, serves the route between Naoetsu Port (直江津港, Naoetsu-Ko) in Joetsu City (上越市, Joetsu-Shi), Niigata Prefecture and Ogi Port (小木港, Ogi-Ko) in Sadogashima. What Exactly is Jetfoil SUISEI? Photo:The Sea Jetfoil SUISEI, operated by Sado Steam Ship, started its service in 1991. Its distinct characteristic is its maximum travel speed of 80km/h. Its waterjet pump, powered by a gas turbine engine, fires high-pressure water to make it hover and propel it through the water. It is also called "Plane of the Seas" because the lift of the hydrofoils in the front and back of the hull allows it to rise to the surface of the sea and navigate at high speed. In the video, the vessel starts floating from around 2:40. Watching the clip, the high standard of Japanese technology is sure to impress you. How to Enjoy the Voyage on Jetfoil SUISEI Photo:Sotokaifu from the Sea The experience starts right when you board the boat and set sail. The footage, from 0:14, captures the embarking vessel. The cozy seats onboard will ensure that you are comfortable! For safety reasons, passengers are required to fasten their seatbelts. But, don't worry! The journey on Jetfoil SUISEI is so steady that you can even take a nap and prepare yourself for the awaiting tourism! The view from the windows is exceptional too! The panorama of the vast Sea of Japan and the height of the Osado Mountains (大佐渡山脈, Oosado Sanmyaku), including Mt. Kinpoku (金北山, Kinpoku-San) on Sado Island, is a sight to behold. Get the best possible experience by sitting in a window seat! The ferry is equipped with a toilet and a nursing room. It is kept safe with various safety devices, such as the Automatic Control Systems, an echo sounder, a hydrofoil up/down device, a radar, wireless devices, inflatable rescue rafts, life jackets and an automatic firefighting device. It's a popular line among railroad enthusiasts and tourists for its spectacular scenery. The Tadami Line is a local line with a reputation for enjoyable train travel. This video features the SL (steam locomotive) Aizu-Tadami Koyo-go, one of the most popular trains on the line. Aizu-Tadami Koyo-go's Tadami Line - Ranked the #1 Local Line Source :YouTube screenshot The Tadami Line is a 135.2 km long line belonging to East Japan Railways (JR East) and connects Fukushima and Niigata prefectures along the valleys of the Aburuma (破間川) and Tadami Rivers (只見川). The Tadami line runs through one of the most mountainous areas in Japan, so the scenery from the train windows is incredibly beautiful and it's very popular among travel lovers. With fresh greenery in the spring, autumn leaves in the fall, and snowy scenery in the winter, you can enjoy the scenery from the train windows all year round on the Tadami Line. As the train runs along a canyon, there are many railway bridges. Among them, the "No. 1 Tadami River Bridge," which can be seen from 0:03 in the video, is a popular spot for photographing the beautiful SL Aizu-Tadami Koyo-go. The "No. 1 Tadami River Bridge," which frequently appears in the video, was completed in 1938 as a truss arch bridge. In a survey by The Nikkei on October 11, 2008, the Tadami Line was ranked first in the NIKKEI PLUS1 "Top Ten Railway Lines with Beautiful Fall Foliage." You can see the scenery of the steam locomotive Aizu-Tadami Koyo-go running on the No. 1 Tadami River Bridge at 0:10 and 1:18 in the video. The Allure of the SL Aizu-Tadami Koyo-go Source :YouTube screenshot The most attractive part of the SL Aizu-Tadami Koyo-go is that you can enjoy a landscape found only on this local line. The SL Aizu Tadami Koyo-go is a C11 325 type, and has three coaches. It starts from Aizu-Wakamatsu station and ends at Tadami Station. The C11 325 model has been running on many routes since it was manufactured in 1946, and is still in service today as the SL Aizu-Tadami Koyo-go. When the steam locomotive is not in operation, there is also a trolley train called the Kaisoku Kazakko Tadami Line Koyo-go. This is another train we highly recommend riding if you have the chance. The Tadami Line is famous as an "unexplored line," and what better way to experience it than traveling through it on a steam locomotive? Sightseeing Destinations in Aizu via the SL Aizu-Tadami Koyo-go Photo:Higashiyama Onsen, Fukushima Prefecture The SL Aizu-Tadami Koyo-go starts at Aizuwakamatsu Station in Fukushima Prefecture. This is the center of Aizu tourism, and is home to the famous Higashiyama Onsen (hot springs). There are many other onsen inns along the route, so we recommend staying at one to relax for an evening. We recommend enjoying Fukushima's famous horse sashimi, Aizu-Jidori chicken, and the mushroom dishes in autumn when staying at one of the local hot spring inns. The Nissan GT-R This video is a promotional video of Nissan's GT-R, titled "Nissan introduces GT-R in Hong Kong." It was published by Nissan. The video was produced to celebrate Nissan's introduction of the 2018 GT-R R35 to Hong Kong. Skyline GT-R is highly popular all around the world. This promotional video shows the excitement brought about by the arrival of the latest model, which many people admire, in Hong Kong. In this article, we will introduce the appeal of the Nissan Skyline GT-R alongside the video. The Skyline GT-R Photo:Nissan The Skyline GT-R is a luxury sports car produced and sold by Nissan. The GT-R is the highest grade of Skyline produced for racing. The one shown in the video is the R35 GT-R, which was introduced to Hong Kong starting with the 2018 model. Starting with the R35 model, the "Skyline" crown has been removed and it's now the "GT-R." It's an ultra-luxury car with a price tag of over ¥10 million (~$95,000 USD), but it's one of the most popular cars in the world. Apart from the newest model, the R35, other popular models from the past, including the R32 at the beginning of the video, the R33NISMO400R at 0:28, and the R34V Spec II Nur at 0:41, are also featured in the video. The history of the GT-R dates back to the 15th Tokyo Motor Show in 1968, when the Skyline GT Racing version, a successor to the Prince Skyline 2000 GT-B, which had been active in touring car racing, was exhibited as a concept car with a Skyline 2000 GT-B body and an in-line 6-cylinder DOH engine. In 1969, the first Skyline GT-R was made commercially available based on these specifications. It has a distinctive appearance with four round tail lights. The Skyline GT-R has also been known as "Hakosuka," "Kenmeri," "R," and "Suka G-R" (in Japan). Many people were captivated by the Skyline GT-R, customizing and modifying it to their own tastes. Today, the GT-R is sold at specialty GT-R shops. Since it's a high-octane gasoline car, its fuel consumption is poor and its maintenance costs are high. However, the tires last longer than ever before and the oil change costs are slightly lower, making the car more affordable than when it debuted. The Appeal of the Skyline GT-R Photo:Nissan GTR The Nissan Skyline GT-R is one of Japan's most iconic high-performance cars. It features a dedicated engine and equipment built to maximize its power in auto racing. The R32, which debuted in 1989, is one of the most popular cars in the GT-R series, with used cars being sold abroad often. The R32 was created as the culmination of Nissan's technology, with the goal of creating a car that could win the All Japan Touring Car Championship. It was equipped with a twin-turbo RB26DETT engine and entered the All Japan Touring Car Championship in 1990. Its design gives off a proud aura and has a charm that draws you in. The Ford Sierra RS500 also participated in the championship, but the R32 was overwhelmingly fast, lapping other cars for the win. The R32 was a first-class car in terms of design, features and equipment, and its subsequent models were also built without any major changes to the design concept or basic engine settings. Summary of the Skyline GT-R Source :YouTube screenshot "Nissan introduces GT-R in Hong Kong," published by Nissan, is a video that introduces the appeal of the Nissan Skyline GT-R. It's a must-see for car fanatics as you can get a close up look at the popular GT-R series. Introducing "Lady" "C571 SL Yamaguchi-go - Lady's return!- 2019 Oct 19-20(C571 SLやまぐち号 【貴婦人完全復活!】 2019.10.19-20)" is a 4K video that captures the steam train that runs between Shin-Yamaguchi Station and Tsuwano (Yamaguchi Prefecture) on the JR West Yamaguchi Line. In 2019, SL Yamaguchi-go celebrated its 40th anniversary since its return. A commemorative event held at the relevant stations and in the train, attracted many fans. The old-fashioned steam train chugging along with smoke coming out of its stack, its whistle, and the steam shooting out the side is spectacular to watch. Enjoy the video of the retro-chic locomotive train. About the Steam Locomotive, SL Yamaguchi-go Photo:The SL Yamaguchi-go C571 The steam train C571 was withdrawn from mainline service in 1965, but made a comeback in 1979 owing to the passionate requests from local enthusiasts and steam locomotive fans. As of November 2019, it runs between Shin-Yamaguchi and Tsuwano that takes about 2 hours and only runs on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays. This elegant machine is popularly known as "Lady". Steam Locomotives are powered by a steam engine: The water contained in a boiler turns into steam when heated, and creates high pressure. Because of this, steam locomotives puff black smoke and big gray clouds of steam when they depart (seen in the video from 1:21). The video shows the SL Yamaguchi-go running through the autumn landscapes in the area stretching between Yamaguchi city and Tsuwano. Cosmos flowers swaying in the wind along the track present an astonishing coincidence of mixed colors, making a fine contrast with the black body of the steam train (from 6:25). You can take beautiful pictures of the SL Yamaguchi-go when it crosses Tsuwano Bridge, or passes by Honmonmae Crossing, Nakaza Crossing, or Nayoshi District. The impressive sight of the train making a turn on the railway turntable also offers a perfect photo opportunity. The SL Yamaguchi-go typically pulls 5 coaches, but occasionally gets double-headed with another steam locomotive, D51200 (Degoichi) -

The 0 Series Shinkansen Returns as the World’s Slowest Bullet Train/Railway Hobby Train! The video "[Railway Hobby Train] Debut|Ehime Newspaper," (「鉄道ホビートレイン」デビュー・愛媛新聞), released by "ehimenp," is about the 0 series Shinkansen (The world’s slowest bullet train) running on the JR Shikoku Yodo Line, which stops at Uwajima station and Chikanaga station. This line runs along the Shimanto River. The Shinkansen is Japan's high-speed railway, celebrating its 50th anniversary. The first Shinkansen train to celebrate this anniversary is the 0 series, a car with a cute round nose that everyone has seen at one time or another. The 0 series Shinkansen can be seen at 1:10 in the video. Although the 0 series Shinkansen was retired in 2008, a diesel train car was converted to a 0 series Shinkansen-style train in 2014 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Yodo Line, which runs from Kochi Prefecture to Ehime Prefecture in the Shikoku region. That happens to be the "Railway Hobby Train" introduced in the video. The nicknames of the 0 series shinkansen are Hikari and Kodama. At the time, it attracted a lot of attention in Japan and around the world as a high-speed train that ran at the world's highest speed of 210km/h. Check Out the Introductory Video of the Genbi Shinkansen, Running Through Niigata “The ‘fun bullet train to ride’ in Niigata - Steps until its operation begins”(新潟の「のってたのしい列車」~現美新幹線・運行開始までの軌跡~) is a documentary video of the The Genbi Shinkansen. The word “Genbi” is an abbreviation of “Gendai Bijutsu (現代美術),” meaning “modern art” in Japanese. This train, limitedly operated by JR East Joetsu Shinkansen, belongs to the Niigata Shinkansen Vehicle Center. When its operation started in 2016, the Genbi Shinkansen used to run between Echigoyuzawa Station to Niigata Station only within Niigata prefecture. After 2017, however, it now runs between Niigata Station and Tokyo Station as a travel-only train. It also runs from Sendai in Fukushima to Omiyama in Saitama for a special tour. In this three-minute video, you can see the production scene of the Genbi Shinkansen until its debut. Did you know that such a beautiful train runs in Japan...? What Is the Genbi Shinkansen? A Look at Its Designs! Source :YouTube screenshot The Genbi Shinkansen in Niigata attracts the attention of many people, as it’s known as the train of the “fastest art appreciation gallery in the world.” As a train with a brand-new concept of the “moving museum,” the Genbi Shinkansen displays many modern artworks made for this bullet train. The artwork on the body of the train, which you can see at 0:40 in the video, is designed by Japanese photographer Mika Ninagawa. The inside of the train was designed and created by a lot of artists. Many artists designed and created various exteriors and interiors, which make for great photos. In 2018, the exterior design was renewed; the Genbi Shinkansen became a more attractive bullet train. As of November 2019, the Genbi Shinkansen runs as a temporary train of the bullet train “Toki (No. 451-456),” making three round trips a day, mainly on Saturdays and holidays. It operates between Echigoyuzawa Station and Niigata Station within Niigata prefecture, which takes about 50 minutes. It stops at the following five stations: Echigoyuzawa Station, Urasa Station, Nagaoka Station, Tsubamesanjo Station, and Niigata Station. The Interior of the Genbi Shinkansen! Source :YouTube screenshot As seen at 0:59 in the video, people started to work on the interior of the Genbi Shinkansen at the Niigata Shinkansen Vehicle Center in February 2016. Artists started to move their artworks into the train on the very first day. From 1:32, the video shows each interior design of the Genbi Shinkansen. The 11th car (designed by the artist Nao Matsumoto), is a reserved seat car with limited express tickets, and is designed with the concept of the “five harvests,” “festivals,” and “lights,” while the 12th car (designed by the artist Yusuke Komuta) is designed with mirrors to reflect the world through its car windows. You can also enjoy each innovative contemporary art exhibit in the 14th car (designed by the photographer Naoki Ishikawa), the 15th car (designed by the artist Haruka Kojin), and the 16th car (designed by the artist Brian Alfred). In the 13th car, there is a playing room for kids with the toy Pla-rail (designed by the artist paramodel) and a café (designed by the artist Kentaro Kobuke), where you can enjoy drinks from Tsubame Coffee by Tatsuyuki Tanaka and sweet treats of the cake shop Romi-Unie. In the café space, you can also buy some railway items, including the N-scale model railway. Please find your favorite item there. The 12th, 14th, 15th, and 16th cars have non-reserved seats where you can enjoy artworks. The Genbi Shinkansen was completed in March 2016 and its departure ceremony was celebrated on April 29, 2016, as you can see at 1:55 in the video. Summary of the Genbi Shinkansen Source :YouTube screenshot The Genbi Shinkansen, operated as Joetsu Shinkansen’s joyful train, runs at a top speed of 240 kilometers per hour. So we can definitely call it the "fastest art museum in the world." When you travel to Niigata or Sendai, please try out the Genbi Shinkansen. For more information please take a look at the official website of JR East; You can see its schedule, fares, reservations, operation days, operation routes, connections, and so on. At 2:33 in this video, you can see a colorful Shinkansen running through the nature of Japan. Video introduction of "Isumi Railway" & "Kominato Railway" rape blossoms and cherry blossoms in Boso Peninsula, Chiba Prefecture This video, titled "[4K UHD] Kominato and Isumi Railways in Spring (shot on Samsung NX1)" ([ 4K UHD ] 春の小湊鉄道といすみ鉄道 - Kominato railway and Isumi railway in Spring - (shot on Samsung NX1), was uploaded by "AQUA Geo Graphic." The video shows the Kominato Railway (小湊鉄道, kominato tetsudo) and Isumi Railway (いすみ鉄道)—which run across Chiba prefecture's Boso Peninsula—in spring. No matter your age or where you come from, this is definitely a place you'll want to check out, especially if you’re a train enthusiast. Visible in the window across from the train driver are the figures of excited children. Check out this uplifting three-and-a-half-minute video, filled with pink cherry blossoms and vibrant yellow rapeseed blossoms. [Video] 1:28 - Cherry Blossoms, Rapeseed, and the Smiling Faces of Children The Difference Between the Isumi and Kominato Railways Photo:Kominato Railway The Isumi Railway covers around 27 kilometers on the JR Boso line (JR房総線, JR Bososen), stretching from Ohara station (大原駅, ohara-eki) to Kazusa-Nakano station (上総中野駅, kazusanakano-eki). The Kominato Railway makes up around 39 kilometers of the JR Uchibo line (JR内房線, JR uchibo sen) between Goi station (五井駅, goi-eki) and Kazusa-Nakano Station. The two railways meet at Kazusa-Nakano station, and if you switch trains there, it's possible to ride across the entire Boso peninsula—just the right distance for a railway day trip. There's even a "Boso Coast to Coast Commemorative Ticket" (房総横断記念乗車券, boso odan kinen joshaken) available as a souvenir via a collaboration between the two companies. If you're visiting from Tokyo, it should take a little under an hour via the JR Sobu Rapid (JR総武快速線) and Uchibo lines. Arriving at Chiba's Goi station, a walk across the bridge will take you to the local line (the Kominato railway) and the start of your journey. In a location that can be enjoyed as a day trip from downtown Tokyo, those with train-loving kids can have an enjoyable day out as well. Cherry Blossoms & the Nanohana Ressha on the Isumi Railway Most famous amongst the Isumi railways trains is the "Nanohana Ressha," (菜の花列車, lit. 'Rapeseed Train'), whose rolling stock is yellow, just like the rapeseed blossoms. The best time to see the rapeseed that lines the railway and is famous for its incredible views is between early March and early April of each year. From late March, the cherry blossoms are in season, and by early April you can see beautiful scenes of cherry blossom in full bloom. Keep an eye on the cherry blossom bloom maps and enjoy both cherry blossoms and rapeseed blossoms from the window of a train. The Best Spots to Photograph the Isumi Railway's Rape Blossoms & Cherry Blossoms! Photo:Isumi Railway On the Isumi Railway between Kazusa-Azuma Station (上総東駅, kazusa azusa-eki) and Nittano Station (新田野駅, nittano-eki), Shiromiaoka Station (城見ヶ丘駅, shiromigaoka-eki) and Otaki Station (大多喜駅, otaki-eki), as well between as Fusamoto station (総元駅, fusamoto-eki) and Nishihata Station (西畑駅, nishihata-eki), you can see rapeseed blossoms and cherry blossoms competing for the spotlight. See if you can't capture a shot of the pinks and yellows under the blue skies of spring. Rapeseed blossoms bloom along 15 kilometers of the Isumi Railway's 27-kilometer span, meaning you can enjoy them along almost the entire length of the track. If you're a train enthusiast, finding the best photo spot is part of the fun! The Isumi Railway is often compared to Moomin Valley in Japan. The comparison originates from the Moomin Train (ムーミン列車, mumin ressha) which operated on the line until March 2019. Apparently at the time there was a Snufkin Lake, and statues of popular characters such as the Moomins, Little My, and Snufkin, in addition to the Moomin-themed trains. There's no doubt that the lush scenery was a good match for the world of the Moomins as well. The Best Spots to Photograph the Kominato Railway Photo:Kominato Railway's Satoyama Romantic Train Kominato Railway's Satoyama Romantic Train (里山トロッコ, satoyama torokko) is hugely popular with tourists. Rail enthusiasts gather from across Japan to get a photo of the sightseeing train against the backdrop of the rapeseed blossom fields. A particularly notable photo spot is the Ishigami Rapeseed Blossom Field (石神菜の花畑, ishigami nanohana-batake), which allows visitors to take some really incredible photos. ■ Ishigami Rapeseed Blossom Field | Chiba, Ichihara, Ishigami, 225 If you get off part way along the Kominato Railway, you'll find Yorokeikoku Station (養老渓谷駅, yoro keikoku eki), where there is a footbath that is available free of charge when using the railroad. It's a 15-minute walk from the station. People visiting by car can use the parking lot by the road—from which there are several superb photo spots within a few minutes' walk—and wait for the sightseeing train. Incredibly, the sightseeing train actually slows down as it passes through the middle of the rapeseed blossom fields—a show of consideration for railway enthusiasts. [Video] 2:18 - The Sightseeing Train Passing Through Rapeseed Blossom Fields Additionally, within the wooden station building of Tsukizaki Station (月崎駅, tsukizaki-eki) is Mori Radio Station (森ラジオステーション, mori rajio suteshon), a popular tourist attraction also known as "Mori Radio" (森ラジオ, mori rajio). The building, which was originally a filling station for railroad maintenance workers of the Kominato Railway, was exhibited as an art installation covered with moss and wildflowers during the Naka-boso International Art Festival's (中房総国際芸術祭, nakaboso kokusai geijutusai) Ichihara Art x Mix (いちはらアートxミックス, ichihara ato x mikkusu) event in 2014. Its atmospheric appearance makes it a popular spot for tourists even now. [Video] 2:53 - Mori Radio Station, Covered in Moss and Wild Grasses Another recommended stop on the Kominato Railway is Itabu Station (飯給駅, itabu-eki). Known as the "world's largest toilet," the spot is quite popular during the daytime. It's a single toilet, surrounded by glass walls that was created as an art installation. At night, the station is popular as a place to take photos of the illuminated cherry blossoms along with the trains. Sightseeing Along the Kominato and Isumi Railways While the cherry blossoms and rapeseed are of course beautiful, they're best enjoyed between visits to various tourist attractions along the railway lines. Below is a list of several tourist attractions you can consider visiting along the railways. Yoro Valley (Yorokeikoku Station) Yoro Valley (Yoro Gorge) is one of the most famous hot spring areas in Chiba Prefecture, and is located roughly in the middle of the Boso Peninsula. The valley is home to numerous waterfalls with popular hiking courses and during the fall, it's a great place to enjoy the autumn leaves. Kasamori Temple (Kazusa-Ushiku Station) This temple sits atop a large boulder and features a unique architectural style. Founded in 784 AD, the temple has been dubbed the "Temple of Prayer and Fragrance" thanks to the lovely scent of the flowers that cover the temple grounds. Hours: April - September: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, October - March: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm Admission Fee: Adults: 300 yen, Children: 100 yen Otaki Castle (Otaki Station) Otaki Castle is said to have been built in 1521 by Honda Tadakatsu, one of the "Four Heavenly Kings of the Tokugawa." Hours: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Closures: Irregular (Please check the official website) Admission Fee: Adults: 200 yen, High school and university students: 100yen, Elementary and middle school students, seniors (65+), and those with disabilities: Free There are many other spots along the railway lines to check out, so if you see something that looks interesting, don't be afraid to hop off the train and explore! Summary of the Kominata and Isumi Railways in Spring The sight of trains reflected in rice paddys and the spring rapeseed and cherry blossoms featured in the video are enough to capture anyone's heart, railway fan or not. There are plenty of wonderful hotels and ryokan (Japanese style inns) in the surrounding area. Even if you usually travel by car, consider booking a trip across the Boso peninsula by train! Take in the fresh spring air and relaxing scenery from the window of your carriage. -

The No. 1 Itasha Event in Japan! Cute Cosplayers and Cars Covered in Anime Wraps at Itasha Heaven!

Introducing Itasha! Have you ever heard the word "Itasha"? In this article, we'll introduce the Japanese pop culture "Itasha" alongside the video, titled "OTAKU CAR HEAVEN 痛車天国2019," produced by "Rescue the Princess!" The video is an introduction to the Itasha event "Odaiba Itasha Heaven 2019" held at the Odaiba outdoor special venue in 2019. Itasha is a form of otaku culture, and is a car with an exterior designed with an anime or game theme, featuring beautiful girl characters or heroines. The name "Itasha" (痛車) comes from the characters "痛" (pain) and "車" (car), literally meaning "painful car," as some people find them painful to look at. Source :YouTube screenshot There are small itasha with stickers on the hood, doors and other parts of the body, as well as fully-wrapped cars with film affixed to the entire car. You can see a number of Itasha throughout the video. In the past, "otaku" culture used to have a somewhat negative image, but now, with the popularity of Japanese anime and manga overseas, "otaku" are respected as authorities and professionals in their field. Fully-wrapped vehicles and airplanes have also appeared in public transit agencies such as airplanes, trains, buses, and motorcycles, and they are very popular with young children and in the otaku community. These vehicles, which are derived from the Itasha and wrapped with characters, are called "Itansha" (motorcycles) and "Itadensha" (trains). In addition to Itasha, you can see a custom bicycle (Itacheri) at 0:22 and a scooter bike (Itansha) at 1:02 in the video. Making Itasha Source :YouTube screenshot Since Itasha designs are based on characters that appear in other works, they are copyrighted. However, since the character Hatsune Miku, which often appears in videos, is a free license, there is no copyright issue if you design your own vehicle with Hatsune Miku. Also, each vehicle can be designed however the owner wants it to be, but if you're a hardcore otaku, you can make your own design with paint and cutting sheets. Recently there are even companies that specialize in Itasha design. Even if you're not an otaku, you can just get a professional to do it for you. In some cases, companies produce itasha by advertising and collaboration, and collaboration itasha, such as Evangelion and Re:Zero, (Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World) were also a hot topic. As for Shinkansen, there is an Evangelion train called "Type EVA" vehicle, and the interior even uses the colors of Evangelion's first mech. Some manufacturers have asked for image collaborations with luxury cars for popular works. In particular, anime and games such as Gundam, Macross, and Super Mario prove the importance of Japanese culture through Itasha. Event Information and Summary of Odaiba Itasha Heaven 2019 Source :YouTube screenshot This video shows cosplay models in a variety of poses, dressed in gorgeous cosplay to add to the appeal of the Itasha. As you can see from 3:21 in the video, there's also a talk show with songs and voice actors on the event stage, so you can see that this isn't just an event to look at the cars. More than 1,000 Itasha participated in the event, the largest of its kind in Japan, in Odaiba that day. Otaku culture, which originated in Akihabara, has now taken off from Japan and is attracting attention around the world. In other words, Itasha Heaven is the largest exhibition of Itasha in the world. As long as there is anime and manga culture in Japan, so too will there be an Itasha culture! Itasha are also known as "Moesha" (cute cars) among otaku, and to otaku "cute" is justice! -
