The best thing of summer is the exciting outdoor activities and weekend trips near seaside... During my trip to shirahama we enjoyed lovely sunny beach moments. This is one of the most photogenic spots where you can see the gateway of the shrine and how the two rocks connected with each other with a long rope kind of thing and in between the sea approaches.

Lotus has ability to bloom from a dirty water but it looks very beautiful. May be because of that in many culture lotus is considered as symbol of purity and enlightenment. Its true for Japanese culture too. This photo was taken from the Shinobazu pond in Ueno park. On the opposite side of the park there is shrine which can also be seen from this photo. The combination of the lotus and shrine is very important for shinto, hindu and buddhism since lotus also symbolise the spirituality and eternity. Additionally lotus also symbolises fertility and prosperity. May be because of all this, lotus is the national flower of India and Vietnam.

The first thing that comes in mind when I think about Japan and Sea is the great painting of Katsushika Hokusai. Yes , The Great Wave off Kanagawa.
That image shows the deep relation of this country to the sea and summer is the best time to enjoy the seaside activities and fun. Coincidentally this image was taken at Enoshima, Kanagawa. Just in that famous painting boats were tactically crossing the huge wave , this surfer too riding on that huge wave and brilliantly overcome it and came to the shore.

ID:1I'd like to try surfing. I know there's a lot of spots in Japan that are good for it. I went down to Kagawa for the long weekend and we saw people wind surfing. Looked like a lot of fun
