The PR Video for "Chusen," a Traditional Japanese Dyeing Technique This video, titled "Chusen - Hand-dyeing technique (Japan)," produced by "IKIDANE NIPPON" features one of Japan's traditional dyeing techniques. "Chusen" is a traditional dyeing technique that originated in Sakai (堺市:Sakai-shi), Osaka in the early Edo Period. Chusen is also called "Sosogi-zome." Dyed textiles are used not only for rolls of cloth and clothing like Yukata, and Jinbei, but also for commonly used items like dish cloths or handkerchiefs. This video clip features the traditional dyeing technique Chusen. We hope you enjoy this rare footage! The Chusen Dyeing Technique Source :YouTube screenshot Chusen is a traditional dyeing technique whereby you dye each piece one by one, and requires highly skilled craftsmen to create perfect, even dyeing. First, place the material cloth on the board and apply anti-dye adhesive to the non-dyeing areas using patterned paper. (0:05). After the pastes are dried, set a frame to an area to be dyed (1:08) and pour the dye compounds onto the cloth. If cloths are dyed twice, in a distinct way, by layering them on top of each other by the bellows, a beautiful color will be produced, and the back side will have a vivid appearance. Dyed textures are washed with water and dried. You can see the completed product in the footage from 3:04. Chusen uses the same technique to dye yarns, therefore, it does not lose its elasticity and breath-ability. Let's Use Chusen Dyed Products Source :YouTube screenshot As you can see from this video clip, these traditional dyed products are made by hand, one by one. These Chusen products, with an air of Japanese culture, are very popular as souvenirs. Chusen products are available on online shopping sites. In recent years, MUJI has introduced a new line of chusen items that have attracted a lot of attention. If properly cared for, Chusen products will change into a beautiful color and can be used for a long time. We also recommend trying a Chusen experience class to see what Chusen dyeing is like. Summary of Chusen, the Traditional Hand Dyeing Technique Source :YouTube screenshot The footage from 3:11 features various Chusen products. Chusen has many different types of patterns such as such as small crests, stripes, chidori patterns, and floral patterns. There are also various techniques, such as using multiple dyeing compounds to make colors brighter, or discharge dyeing to make colors dark. There is another traditional dyeing method in Japan besides Chusen; it is called "Nattsen." Definitely check out some chusen products if you have the chance! 【Official Website】Tenukuri kobo |Tokyo Wasarasi Sozokan https://souzou-kan.info/en/ -

Japan's Emperor System and Abdication Photo:General visit to the Imperial Palace Emperor Akihito's declaration had a great deal to do with Japan's Imperial House System and Law. Currently, the abdication of the throne is only carried out when the emperor at the time passes away. In order to make abdication possible, the Imperial House Law needs to be amended. As there had never been such a case in modern times, the abdication of the Emperor during his lifetime and next era name were carefully chosen. Subsequently, after extensive discussion, the abdication of the Emperor was approved by amending the laws of the Japanese Constitution to allow him to abdicate during his lifetime. In June 2017, the Special Imperial Household Law on the Abdication of the Emperor and Other Matters was promulgated and came into effect on April 30, 2019. Accordingly, on April 1, 2019, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga announced the new era name, "Reiwa." A CT Scan of a Buddhist Statue Reveals It to Be the Work of Genius Buddhist Sculptor Unkei?! This Massive Work of Art Has the Potential to Change What We Know About History!

CT Scanning Research of the Four Heavenly Kings Statues of Nan'en-do at Kofukuji Temple in Nara! This video, titled "Unkei’s ‘mark’ found on Four Heavenly Kings standing statues," is about the Four Heavenly Kings statues at Nan'en-do in Nara Prefecture. It was published by "Asahi Shimbun." In 2017, the Tokyo National Museum conducted CT scans on the Buddhist statues of Kofukuji Temple in Nara Prefecture (奈良県, Nara-ken) to coincide with a special exhibit called "Unkei—The Great Master of Buddhist Sculpture." It opened up the possibility that the creator of the Mujaku and Seshin standing statues (無著世親菩薩立像, Mujaku Seshin Bosatsu Ryuzo), known as the most highly acclaimed Japanese sculptures, was none other than genius Buddhist sculptor Unkei. Presently in Japan, it is said that there are 31 other statues created by Unkei, but there is a likelihood that the number will rise as surveys continue. The CT Scan Research of the Four Heavenly Kings Statues Source :YouTube screenshot According to the video, by CT scanning the Four Heavenly Kings statues of Nan'en-do, and the Mujaku and Seshin standing statues of the North Round Hall (北円堂, Hokuendo), it was discovered that wooden parts containing tree cores had been combined to make both groups of statues. It is therefore said that the Four Heavenly Kings statues at Kofukuji Temple were created by Unkei. The commonality in technique used in the Mujaku and Seshin statues is an important factor to back the claim that the creator of both groups of statues is Unkei. In the video, the statue, over 2 meters tall, is neatly wrapped, and from 0:49 in the video, the x-ray CT scanning begins. From 0:10 in the video, Ryusuke Asami, section chief of the planning division at the Tokyo National Museum, says in interview, "the Four Heavenly Kings statues have never been photographed using x-rays before and the structures of the insides of the statues has also not been understood." What are the Four Heavenly Kings? Source :YouTube screenshot The Four Heavenly Kings are the four gods of Buddhism that protect the four directions and consist of the Jikokuten statue (持国天像, Jikokuten-zo) of the east, the Zojoten statue (増長天像, Zojoten-zo) of the south, the Komokuten (広目天像, Komokuten-zo) statue of the west, and the Tamokuten statue (多聞天像, Tamonten-zo) of the North. The Four Heavenly Kings statues at Kofukuji Temple were thought to be the works of Unkei’s father, Kokei, but from this research and researches on their styles, it has become increasingly believable that these were created by the hands of Unkei himself. The National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties of Kofukuji Temple Photo:Nara Prefecture・Kofukuji Kofukuji Temple, located in Nara Prefecture, consists of historical buildings, such as the East Golden Hall (東金堂, Tokondo), the West Golden Hall (西金堂, Saikondo), the North Round Hall, and the South Round Hall (Nan'en-do). The wooden statues of the Four Heavenly Kings at Kofukuji were moved from the Old Golden Hall (旧金堂, Kyukondo) to the South Round Hall replacing the Four Heavenly Kings statues in the South Round Hall, which are introduced in the video. Other than these, there are many temple treasures at Kofukuji Temple which were created during the Heian period (794-1185) and the Kamakura period (1185-1333), including the Asura statue, the wooden Medicine King (Bhaishajyaraja) and Medicine Superior standing statues (薬王菩薩・薬上菩薩立像, Mokuzo Yakuobosatsu・Yakujobosatsu Ryuzo), the bronze Medicine Master sitting statue (薬師如来坐像, Yakushinyorai Zazo), Ryowakiji statue, the wooden Manjushri standing statue (文殊菩薩立像, Monjubosatsu Ryuzo), the wooden Vimalakirti sitting statue (維摩居士坐像, Yuimakoji Zazo), the wooden Twelve Heavenly Generals standing statues (十二神将立像, Junishinsho Ryuzo), and the bronze Buddha head. Summary of the Four Heavenly Kings of Kofukuji Source :YouTube screenshot This article introduced the massive discovery of the Four Heavenly Kings of Kofukuji possibly being created by the genius Buddhist sculptor, Unkei. The research by the Tokyo National Museum may lead to an important discovery that unravels the mysteries of history. Nara Prefecture has flourished for more than a thousand years, back when it was called Heijokyo (平城京, Heijo-kyo), and it still has many sightseeing locations, such as Todaiji Temple, Kasuga Shrine (春日大社, Kasuga-taisha), Yakushiji Temple, Taima Temple (当麻寺, Taimadera), and more. Blind soccer is played in accordance with a modified version of the futsal rules set by FIFA. The sport is managed by the Japan Blind Football Association (JBFA). Blind soccer is generally played by players with visual impairment at the level of complete loss of sight. They play by discerning where the ball is through a bell that rings inside the ball as it moves, and through voice communication. There is a caller (guide) behind the goals who gives the distance and the angle to the goal. The only exception to the blind players is the keeper who has full sight. Each game consists of 20-minute halves. When charging for the ball to defend or going to the sideline for a ball, players shout "Voy!" to prevent collisions. In addition, she exhibited her work at Christie's, the world's longest-running art auction house, showing the gap between the world's top aesthetic collectors and the timid Komatsu, who watched with bated breath as she waited to see if her work would be evaluated by them. About the video of the Type 10 tank that went on a rampage at the Nerima Garrison This video is titled "Type 10 Tank Rampage! Nerima Garrison Memorial Event Type10 MBT"(10式戦車大暴れ! 練馬駐屯地記念行事 Type10 MBT). It was taken by "kinokopack," at the exhibition for the Type 10 tank at the Nerima Garrison Memorial Event held at Nerima Garrison. The Type 10 tank is a Japanese main battle tank that was manufactured at a development cost of 48.4 billion yen (~$455m USD). You can see the powerful, dexterous movement of the tank in the video. If you like tanks or other war machines then you don't want to miss out on this video. In this article, we'll introduce the Type 10 tank that appeared at the Nerima Garrison event. Be sure to follow along with the video! Japan's Type 10 Tank: Features and Capability Source :YouTube screenshot The Type 10 tank is a fourth-generation domestic tank, the successor to the Ground Self Defense Force Type 90. The Ministry of Defense's Technology & Research Division is in charge of its development, and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is responsible for its production. The Type 10 tank has incredibly high firepower, defenses, and mobility, and is an overall well-rounded tank. The main gun is a domestic .44 caliber 120 mm smooth-bore cannon. The shells are a new domestic armor-piercing round characterized by their high penetration. In the video, you can see footage of the Type 10 tank rampaging at the Nerima garrison. From 3:50 in the video, you can also see how it was made at the venue and its hill-climbing ability. The Type 10 tank is also equipped with an air conditioner for cooling the electronic equipment, but not the passengers. As tanks generally run with the windows open, it doesn't make much sense to equip an air conditioner for passengers, and it seems that cooling suits are often used when it's hot. The fuel consumption of the Type 10 tank is not disclosed as they are military secrets. The purchase price is 950 million yen per tank, and seeing as they are weapons, cannot be purchased by civilians. You can make high quality plastic models of Type 10 tanks, radio-controlled models and model cars as well. Why not give them a try? What Is Nerima Garrison? Photo:Japan's Ground Self-Defense Force The Nerima Garrison is a garrison used by the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force where the 1st Division Headquarters and other units are stationed. It is located in Nerima Ward, Tokyo. Because it is close to the city center, politicians and defense ministers often visit for inspection. In addition to the "1st Division Command," the "1st Division General Regiment," "1st Logistic Support Regiment," "1st Inspection Team," "1st Music Team," etc. are also stationed here. The anniversary celebration is held in April and the summer evening festival is held in July. There is also a military parade where you can see the tanks up close. In addition, during the commemorative events of Nerima Garrison, there is a display of equipment and a test-ride corner, so you can experience a once in a lifetime opportunity! Summary of Nerima Garrisons Type 10 Tanks Source :YouTube screenshot The video "Type 10 Tank Rampage! Nerima Garrison Memorial Event Type10 MBT" introduces the exhibition activities of the Type 10 tank at the events held at Nerima Garrison.
