Flower Garden of Light, a Mother Farm Illumination: Video Introduction Photo:An illumination at Mother Farm This video, titled "Mother Farm Illuminations 2019-2020 — Flower Garden of Light" (マザー牧場 イルミネーション 2019-2020 光の花園), was uploaded by "Mother Farm" (マザー僕所). In this video, you can watch the 2019-2020 Flower Garden of Light event, a light show which took place at Mother Farm. Mother Farm is located on the slopes of Mt. Kano (鹿野山, kano-zan), from which breathtaking views of the Boso Peninsula, Tokyo Bay, Mt. Fuji, and Japan's beautiful mountain ranges can be seen. Occupying a vast swathe of land in Futtsu, Chiba, in Japan's Kanto region, Mother Farm was established in February 1962 by Hisakichi Maeda, the same man who established the Sankei Shimbun (a daily newspaper in Japan) and Tokyo Tower. One of Mother Farm's biggest draws is the fact that visitors can interact with a large variety of animals through events and feeding experiences. With great food and events, there's enough excitement for both kids and adults to spend a full day thoroughly enjoying themselves here. This hugely popular leisure spot in Japan's Kanto region is one of the first things that comes to mind when people think of Chiba prefecture. Of all of Mother Farm's seasonal events, the one that has people buzzing in anticipation about the most each year is the winter illumination show. With the theme "Flower Garden of Light," the show's colorful lights — which resemble the seasonal flowers of Japan — will bring the farm to life at night once again this year. Check out the video and be captivated by the farm's beautiful illuminations. [Video] 0:13 - One Million Lights [Video] 0:19 - Flower Field of Light [Video] 0:25 - Night-Time Bungie Jumping Amongst the Lights Highlights of Flower Garden of Light, a Mother Farm's Illumination Event Photo:Mother Farm, an amusement park in Chiba Prefecture Next, we'll walk you through some of the highlights of Flower Garden of Light, the illumination event at Mother Farm. ● Flower Field of Light Our top recommendation is the Flower Field of Light; the highest altitude illumination in Chiba Prefecture. In the Flower Field of Light area, visitors can see such delights as Mt. Fuji silhouetted against the dusk sky and Tokyo Bay's night views, all while enjoying the illuminations. The combination of the wintry flower meadow's twinkling lights and the surrounding scenery as the sunlight begins to fade, slowly giving way to night makes this a must-see attraction. ●Photo spot fairy area The newly introduced fairy area in 2023 will feature a landscape of melancholy light such as flower fields and windmills. Let's take a cute picture in "Fairy Country". ● Night-Time Amusement Park The sparkling Night-Time Amusement Park is home to Chiba's tallest (at its tallest point) Ferris wheel, merry go rounds, and, located 321 meters above sea level, the Night-Time Bungie Jump. Both children and adults are sure to lose track of time as they enjoy playing to their hearts' content. Food and Accommodations at Mother Farm Source :YouTube screenshot It would be a crime to miss the warming farm cuisine available at Mother Farm. Available only during the illumination season, the "All-You-Can-Eat Big Double Winter Warmer" (あったか2大食べ放題) offers Meisui Bamboo Steamed Mochi Pork (high quality pork steamed using water from a renowned water source), which can only be eaten at this time of year, and jingisukan (a Japanese mutton dish named after Ghengis Khan) on a 90-minute all you can eat menu. The warm, tasty food is sure to revitalize after enduring the cold temperatures outside. Add in a fully-stocked side menu and collection of limited sale sweets, and even the biggest of appetites will be satiated without a doubt. Mother Farm also offers value set tickets, advance tickets, and group plans, so make sure you check these out as well. [Video] 0:34 - All-You-Can-Eat Big Double Winter Warmer For those wishing to stay overnight, Mother Farm's partner hotel, Okura Akademia Park Hotel will get you in that holiday resort state of mind, and can be reached in 25 minutes by car from Mother Farm. It is also conveniently located approximately 60 minutes from central Tokyo via the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line. Okura Akademia stands on the Kazusa Hill Range, surrounded by the sea and an abundance of greenery. An elegant and refined space with a balcony in each guest room, and seasonal ingredients from the Boso Peninsula in the restaurant, it's a great place to rest your weary body after a fun-filled day. Animal Events at Mother Farm Photo:A sheep at Mother Farm, Chiba Prefecture One of the biggest reasons for Mother Farm's popularity is that visitors can actually interact with the animals. This remains true even throughout the illumination season at Mother Farm. Relax with rabbits and guinea pigs at Bunny-Guinea Touch (うさモルタッチ, usa moru tacchi), or interact with fluffy sheep with a sheep feeding experience. It's a soothing experience for kids and adults alike. We hope you'll have a wonderful time with the adorable animals at these events! Mother Farm Illumination: Roundup Be it the night views, the cuisine, or the events, there's so much to do at the Mother Farm illumination! The fact that the venue is easily accessible by car or train from Japan's Kanto region makes it an even more attractive destination. Dondo Yaki at Oyama Dairi Park: Video Introduction This video, titled "Dondo Yaki Jan. 1, 2016 4K, Oyama Dairi Park" (どんど焼き(4K動画、2016年1月11日、小山内裏公園)), was uploaded by "Hiroharu Ashikaga" (足利宏治). This video introduces Dondo Yaki, a traditional Japanese event that involves lighting bonfires at the end of the New Year holiday in Japan. Have you ever heard of Dondo Yaki? It's a Japanese fire festival that actually has different names in different regions of Japan. Some of these names include Sankuro, Sagicho, Donto Yaki, and Doso Jin Matsuri. This video introduces the fire festival being held at Oyama Dairi Park in Machida, Tokyo, in Japan's Kanto region. During the event, leaves from the kaya tree (Japanese nutmeg-yew) are piled up like a mountain on a scaffold made of wood and bamboo so that the bonfire burns well. Then, Japanese New Year's decorations, such as Shimekazari (a rope decoration to ward off evil and bring luck) and Kadomatsu are placed on top of the bonfire and burned. The bigger the bonfire becomes, the more spectacular it looks. It's a sight you don't want to miss! [Video] 1:38 - Flames Rising Into the Sky What Is Dondo Yaki? The Meaning of the Name and the History of the Traditional Japanese Festival Photo:Dondo Yaki The history of this Japanese Fire festival dates back to Japan's Heian Period (794 AD - 1185 AD). Dondo Yaki is an event to see off the god of the New Year as he returns to the sky after visiting people's homes during the New Year's holiday. Dondo Yaki is a fire festival with a long history, in which local people burn lucky charms and decorations, such as shimekazari and kadomatsu, as well as kakizome, to ward off bad luck for the year and to wish for a good harvest, prosperous business, family safety, good health, and the prosperity of one's descendants. There are various theories as to the origin of the name Dondo Yaki. One suggests that it was named after the crackling noise of bamboo when it burns, which is "Don!" in Japanese. Another suggests that it comes from the word "Don don moeru" (どんどん燃える, lit "to burn gradually"). There is also a custom of skewering mochi (rice cakes), mikan (mandarin oranges), and dango, and roasting them over the bonfire during Dondo Yaki. Doing so is thought to keep one healthy throughout the year and protect them from the cold, and is a custom that has been passed down from generation to generation in almost every region of Japan. Fluffy Omelettes Flying Through the Air! Yokohama Tachibanatei's Professional Omelette-Making Skills! A Look at What Goes in To the Dishes of the Popular Restaurant in Yokohama, Kanagawa

The Out-Of-This-World Omurice-Making Skills of “Yokohama Tachibanatei” This video is titled “Graceful Skills, Yokohama Tachibanatei, Omelette Rice Performance, Uncut | Awesome Cooking Demo of Fluffy Japanese Omurice(華麗な技 横濱たちばな亭 オムライスパフォーマンス ノーカット | Awesome Cooking Demo of Fluffy Japanese Omelette Rice)” created by “LifeWith505” and it introduces the omurice-making process of “Yokohama Tachibanatei,” a famous Japanese restaurant introduced in television programs and magazines. The quick hands when stir-frying the chicken rice in the pan and the incredible skill of making the fluffy omelette that is placed atop the chicken rice is artistic and flashy. What is Yokohama Tachibanatei? Photo: Yokohama Minatomirai|Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse Yokohama Tachibanatei, located in Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse and Cubic Plaza Shin-Yokohama in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, is a famous restaurant where you can enjoy authentic Western dishes in Japan and whose most popular dish is its omurice. It’s always crowded during lunch, and its artistically-made omurice is enjoyed not just by the Japanese, but by foreigners as well. The key to its popularity is not just its aesthetic beauty, but also the fact that you can watch the live performance of the omurice being cooked, as this video introduces. In fact, omurice is said to be a Japanese dish made in Japan and its recipes and ingredients differ from restaurant to restaurant. However, this omurice “Omurice of a Western Food Restaurant” uses a recipe where a runny half-cooked egg is placed on the top of some chicken rice. In this video, you can see the amazing performances of the omurice-professionals of Yokohama Tachibanatei, a source of pride for Japan. The Chicken Rice Recipe of Yokohama Tachibanatei Source :YouTube screenshot The key to making the chicken rice, which will become the foundation of the omurice, is to stir-fry it with lots of butter and to make use of the savory flavor of the sauce and ketchup! While stir-frying the rice on a pan with hot butter, you add the first sauce (0:37). After adjusting the flavor with some salt and pepper and then giving it a mix, you add the second sauce at (1:13). Their ability to shake the frying pan without dropping a single piece of rice is truly the skill of a professional. The Fluffy Half-Cooked Egg Recipe of Yokohama Tachibanatei Source :YouTube screenshot The cooking process of the omelette that will be placed on top of the chicken rice begins at 2:28. You make the runny half-cooked eggs by putting a generous amount of mixed eggs in a pan with hot butter and then adjusting the intensity of the heat while finely shaking the chopsticks and the pan. This is the biggest highlight of this video! When the cooked egg flies through the air and lands on the chicken rice, the omelette splits beautifully, showing its fluffy, runny insides! This amazing cooking skill, that separates the amateurs from the pros, will make you go wild. You can see this from 3:21 in the video. If you want to carefully observe the omelette being placed on the chicken rice, we recommend watching the slowed-down version from 3:25. Summary of Yokohama Tachibanatei's Omurice “Yokohama Tachibanatei,” is a Western restaurant where you can enjoy not just the delicious omurice made with a special recipe, but also the incredible professional skills of the cooks. An original demi-glace sauce full of savory deliciousness is poured over the omurice, and you you'll be filled with satisfaction for the mere price of 880 yen (~$8 USD). Yokohama Tachibanatei, the restaurant introduced in this video, is located in Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, which is overflowing with diverse foreign cultures, gives the feeling of being inside a Western-style house, and is a popular restaurant highly rated on gourmet websites. In addition to the omurice, the menu also has dishes such as cutlet sandwiches and curry rice. In the Shin-yokohama restaurant, you can also get some take-out dishes such as tonkatsu bento (pork cutlet lunchbox). It’s a popular restaurant, so you may need to reserve some seats depending on the time you visit, but please visit the restaurant and enjoy the delicious taste of the omurice and the amazing cooking skills that you can watch live, both the pride and joy of Japan! ◆Yokohama Tachibanatei, Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse Restaurant◆ 【Address】First floor of Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse Building No.2, 1-1-2 Shinko (新港, Shinko), Naka Ward (中区, Nakaku), Yokohama City 【Access】6 minutes by foot from Minatomirai Line Bashamichi Station (馬車道駅, Bashamichieki), Nihon-Odori Station (日本大通り駅,Nihonodorieki) 【Hours】11:00〜21:00 【Closures】None 【Parking】None 【Telephone No】045-650-8752 【Official Website】Red Brick Warehouse Restaurant | Western Food Yokohama Tachibanatei https://yokohama-tachibana.net/akarenga/ -

Approximately 10,000 candles will be lit at the Enoshima Samuel Cocking Garden on Enoshima Island. The warmth of the candlelight is very different from the dazzling winter illumination. Autumn is a season when people start to feel lonely, so consider making some date plans for the Shonan Candle and enjoy a nice evening out. A Recommended Summer Illumination Event on Enoshima Photo:The lantern light up event on Enoshima At the Enoshima Samuel Cocking Garden, where the Enoshima Sea Candle, a symbol of Shonan, stands, light-themed events are also held in the summer. As a summer tradition, the Enoshima Lantern Festival has been held annually since 2008, and this year the event was held from July 23 (Saturday) to August 31 (Wednesday). The event features 1,000 lanterns, as well as the light installation "Hikari no Emaki" (光の絵巻, lit. 'A Picture Scroll of Lights') at Enoshima Shrine, offering a different atmosphere in summer than in autumn and winter, making it an event you don't want to miss. Summary of Illumination Events on Enoshima Enoshima is known for its impressive winter illuminations, and every year large scale light events are held in summer, fall, and winter in order to revitalize the local community. No matter which season, the events are always romantic thanks to the perfect location of Enoshima. We encourage you to go out with your family and friends, or for a nice, romantic date. You're sure to have a great time, making memories and taking photos at all of the picturesque photo spots. Enoshima is also a great place for tourists, as it's relatively easy to get to even from distant places. However, because this is a popular event, traffic jams and other congestion are to be expected, especially on weekends and holidays. Parking lots in the neighborhood can also fill up. Therefore, we recommend that you avoid coming by car if possible and use public transportation. Enjoy the festive mood of the colder months with a trip to this heartwarming illumination event. 【Official Website】Enoshima and Kamakura Travel Guide 【TripAdvisor】The Jewel of Shonan -

The Cute Akita Dogs of Japan This video, titled "Akita dogs - Loyal Japanese Dogs" (秋田犬 〜忠誠心に厚い日本の犬〜), is an introductory video that shares the charm of Akita dogs, famous for Shibuya Station’s Loyal Dog Hachiko. The video was produced by "JVT Channel." The Akita is a Japanese dog that has been designated a national natural treasure and is very familiar to the Japanese people. Loyal and gentle, the Akita is a popular dog in other countries as well. In this article, we'll take a look at the adorable Akita! The Akita Photo:Akita dog Akita, not to be confused with the prefecture of the same name, are a Japanese dog breed. Their gentle and loyal nature has made them a popular dog around the world. They have a lovely round face, triangular ears, and a curled-up tail. The Akita Dog comes in a variety of coat colors, such as brindle, but the most common color is red fawn. The red variety has a reddish-brown tinge around the forehead and on the back. They are sold at pet stores at prices ranging from 60,000 to 120,000 yen. It is the only large dog among the six types of dogs native to Japan and stands about 61-67 cm tall, with a life span of 10-13 years, which is the average for large dogs. Contrary to its larger size, their gentle characteristic are one of the main reasons for their popularity. You can see the features of the Akita dog at 0:07 in the video. The Akita dog's ancestors lived in the city of Odate, Akita Prefecture, in the Tohoku region of Japan. After dogfighting became popular in Japan, the Akita was crossed with the Tosa Inu and Mastiffs and became larger, which led to their current form today. Since they are large dogs, they need to be trained from when they are puppies and need to be walked regularly, as they were originally hunting dogs. The Charm of Akita Dogs - Obedient and Energetic Pets Photo:Akita Dog The charm of Akita dogs are their cute faces and gentle nature. There are several types of Japanese dogs, including the small Shiba Inu (dog), and the medium-sized Kishu inu, Shikoku inu, Hokkaido inu, and Kai inu, but among them, Akita dogs are considered the most loyal and gentle. At 0:47 in the video, you can see the bronze statue of Hachiko in front of Shibuya station in Tokyo, where he waited for his master every day, for nearly 10 years after his master had already passed away. His loyalty is still praised today. The original Akita dog was bred as the Akita Matagi (a hunting dog), but the number of Akita dogs has declined dramatically in recent years due to the growing popularity of small, easy-to-keep dogs and other indoor breeds. However, in recent years, the Akita has begun to attract attention again! There was a news that an Akita dog was sent as a gift to the Russian figure skater gold medalist Alina Zagitova, and she named it "Masaru." In addition to Zagitova, many foreigners have become fascinated by the Akita, and more and more people are adopting them as pets. Source :YouTube screenshot The city of Odate in Akita Prefecture, the birthplace of the Akita dog, is also working to promote the dog's appeal to a wider audience. They visit nursing homes and elementary schools to allow communities to interact with them. You can see this at 2:10 in the video. In Odate, you can also visit Akita Inu no Sato (Akita Dog Visitor Center) and interact with the dogs. Summary of the Cute and Gentle Akita Dogs Photo:Akita Dog The video, "Akita dogs - Loyal Japanese Dogs," produced by "JVT Channel" is an introductory video that shares the charm of Akita dogs. Although the number of Akita dogs is decreasing due to the popularity of small, easy-to-keep dogs, the Akita is by far the cutest and most loyal. They are loyal to their owners, and their gentle nature attracts many people. If you're a dog lover, this video is a must watch! -

How Rice Crackers Saved Chiba's Choshi Railway! A Look at the Unique Idea That Transcended the Bounds of a Railroad Company to Overcome a Business Crisis!
Transportation- 114 plays

President Takemoto Katsunori, Who Saved Choshi Railway The video "Local Line Protected by Creativity: The Struggle of the President of Choshi Dentetsu" (発想力で守るローカル線 銚子電鉄社長の奮闘) was uploaded by "Nikkei." The Choshi Electric Railway, which is only 6.4 kilometers long, runs on the east side of the Kanto region and is famous for its unique events, such as the "Ghost Train" and its moist rice crackers. President Katsunori Takemoto, a former tax accountant, utilized his ingenuity to protect the Choshi Railway, which serves as the main form of transportation in the area. What is the Choshi Railway? Photo:Choshi Railway・Tokawa Station Choshi Railway (Choshi Dentetsu), Choden for short, is a train that connects Choshi Station and Tokawa Station in Chiba. The entire line is in Choshi City, and it passes through the easternmost part of the city, near Cape Inubō (犬吠埼, Inubōsaki). Including its predecessor, Choshi Yuran Railway, the railway has a history of more than 100 years. The trains were acquired from major private railroads, and some of them are more than 50 years old. The railway has been in danger of being abandoned many times due to poor performance. Although it is difficult to run the train due to the decreasing population, the management is partly supported by the sale of snacks such as "mazui bo" and wet rice crackers. These wet crackers have generated more than twice the profit of the Choshi Railway, and President Katsunori Takemoto says "the Choshi Railway is a cracker shop" at an interview at 0:56 in the video. You can see crackers being baked at 1:09 in the video. The Brilliant Idea of President Takemoto Katsunori Source :YouTube screenshot President Katsunori Takemoto became the electric railway's tax advisor while also performing conductor duties. His innovations, such as naming rights for event trains and stations, were also successful. The selling of naming rights wasn’t limited to short sighted planning either; it was also to attract companies that were committed to rebuilding the Choshi Railway's management and contributing to the community as owners. Examples include "Never Give Up" Choshi Station (絶対にあきらめない銚子駅), "Roswell" Kimigahama Station (ロズウェル君ヶ浜駅) and "Thank you" Tokawa Station (ありがとう外川駅). In this way, the Choshi Railway has been contributing to society and the region as a hub of the local economy. In recent years, they have released various characters under the anthropomorphic railcar project "Loco MOTION," and a superhero named "Chodenjin Go Gusher" was also created. The Rice Crackers That Saved Choshi Railway Source :YouTube screenshot In 1989, the Choshi Railway was threatened with closure due to a decline in population. In 1998, they started selling moist rice crackers, surpassing earnings from the railway's main business. This was picked up by many media outlets and was the talk of the town at the time. Unfortunately, in 2004, the company took on the debt of the president at that time and began to decline once again. However, rice crackers came to the rescue once again, pulling the railway out of a crisis. The online sales of rice crackers, which were not doing well at the moment, were replaced with crackers that said "Please buy me, I have to earn money to repair the trains." Fans responded to the cry for help, and the railway was able to dodge yet another bullet. Incidentally, the rice crackers, popular survival masks, scarves, and other original Choshi Dentetsu goods are also available by mail order, so please visit the online shop on their website if you're interested. Summary of Choshi Dentetsu's Rice Crackers Photo:Choshi Railway Did you enjoy reading about the innovation of Choshi Dentetsu and their rice crackers? Taking a ride on the quaint railway may make you feel like you're on a sightseeing trip to a far-away land. A movie depicting the history of the Choshi Railway was released in winter 2019 as well. If you're in the area, be sure to take a ride on the Choshi Railway! 【Tripadvisor】Choshi Dentetsu https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g1021144-d1774621-Reviews-Choshi_Dentetsu-Choshi_Chiba_Prefecture_Kanto.html -

Introducing the Outstanding Craftsmanship of Tokyo Some-Komon! The Delicate Designs of These Kimono and Obi Are Carefully Handmade by Artisans
Traditional Crafts- 423 plays
- YouTube
An Introductory Video on "Tokyo Some-Komon," a Traditional Japanese Craft This video, titled "手技TEWAZA「東京染小紋」tokyo some komon dyeing/伝統工芸 青山スクエア Japan traditional crafts Aoyama Square," was released by "Traditional Crafts Aoyama Square." Tokyo Some-Komon, the traditional Japanese craft introduced this time, may be more familiar to those living in Tokyo or the Tokyo metropolitan area. A Closer Look at Tokyo Some-Komon, a Traditional Japanese Craft Source :YouTube screenshot Tokyo Some-Komon is a traditional craft that encompasses a wide range of items, from luxury garments, such as kimono and obi, to everyday items such as furoshiki and folding fans. Clothes and kimonos made via the outstanding artisanship and carefully hand-dyed not only on pure silk and cotton but also on handmade Japanese paper, have been highly valued as works of art; and many Tokyo Some-Komon craftsmen have been awarded the Order of Culture. The raw materials used for dyeing include astringent persimmon juice, which has antibacterial and deodorizing properties. Since each piece is handmade by craftsmen, it cannot be mass-produced. There are some workshops where you can experience Tokyo Some-Komon, so consider giving these a visit. "Komon" is a small pattern drawn on the paper stencil which can be seen from 0:26 in the video. The history of Tokyo Some-Komon dates back to the Muromachi Period (1336-1573) and spread during the Edo Period (1603-1868). Dyeing craftsmen gathered in Edo (today Tokyo) to compete with their techniques, and because the crafts popularity blossomed in Edo, it was nicknamed Edo Komon. The Making of Tokyo Some-Komon Source :YouTube screenshot [Step 1: Making the Paper Pattern] The stencil is made of handmade Japanese paper laminated with astringent persimmon. Ise-katagami (made in Suzuka, Mie) is used for Tokyo Some-Komon. On the paper pattern, starch is applied to the parts that will not be colored when dyeing. When the starch is washed off after dyeing is completed, the parts covered with starch will remain white, creating beautiful patterns. After applying the starch, the pattern is dried. [Step 2: Colored Paste] (Video: 1:03 ~) Colored starch is formulated by mixing salt with glutinous rice and rice bran and steaming it, and then kneading the color with dye. Since the color and finished color of the dye are different, the formulation requires a high level of craftsmanship. [Step 3: Stenciling] (Video: 2:01 ~) Colored paste is applied to the fabric with a spatula. This work is sometimes called "shigoki." [Step 4: Steaming] Before the colored paste dries, it is folded into layers and placed in a steaming box to steam it. From here it is steamed for 15 to 30 minutes while the temperature is gradually raised so that the base color will settle into the material easily. [Step 5: Washing] (Video: 3:04 ~) The steamed fabric is then transferred to a water tank and rinsed with groundwater and sawdust to soften the paste. In the past, many dye artisans in Japan were located along rivers because it was convenient for washing fabrics. Source :YouTube screenshot [Step 6: Finishing] (Video: 3:16 ~) Having been washed with water, the fabric is placed in a spin drier, dried, then finely colored, thus completing the piece. Summary of Tokyo Some-Komon Source :YouTube screenshot It's no exaggeration to say that the main characteristic of Tokyo Some-Komon is the density of the Komon designs. Seen from a distance, it looks like a solid color, but as you get closer, you can see the intricate patterns, which has led to pieces made with Tokyo Some-Komon being referred to as works of art. From the Muromachi Period to the Edo Period, Japan had a samurai society, and its culture was simple. For this reason, it is believed that at first glance, a plain small pattern was preferred rather than the ostentatious patterns found in yukata and Kyoyuzen (silk fabrics made in Kyoto). Looking closer, the fashionable and luxurious dyeing techniques would have been loved by the people of Edo. It can be seen in literature and cultural heritages of the Edo period that the culture of Tokyo Some-Komon had become prevalent in formal samurai wear. Also, Tokyo Some-Komon expanded from samurai to the culture of the common people from the middle of the Edo period (around 1700 to 1800). Daily necessities brimming with a playful spirit, such as Tokyo Some-Komon kimono and furoshiki, not only for men but also for women's semi-formal wear, have become very popular. Tokyo Some-Komon was designated as a National Traditional Craft by the former Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry in 1974. Today, the craftsmanship is used and loved in a wide range of fields such as scarves, lampshades, and traditional handicrafts using handmade Japanese paper. Autumn Leaves on Mt. Takao: Video Introduction This video, titled "Autumn Leaves and Hiking on Mt. Takao|Travel|Sightseeing in Tokyo|Michelin Guide|Autumn Leaves in Japan|4K 2021" (4K 2021紅葉の秋の高尾山 TOKYO Autumn leaves of Mt. Takao 紅葉ハイキング 高尾山観光 旅行 Michelin Guides 東京観光 日本の紅葉 紅葉の名所), was uploaded by "Discover Nippon." Mt. Takao, a 599-meter-tall mountain in Hachioji, Tokyo, in Japan's Kanto region, is a national park that has received three stars in the Michelin Guide and is a tourist attraction where visitors can enjoy hiking. Mt. Fuji can be seen from the top of the mountain, and Takao Yakuoin Temple is crowded with many visitors. [Video] 1:55 - Takao Yakuoin Temple Be sure to check out the video to see the autumn leaves of Mt. Takao Hiking and Mountain Climbing – Recreational Activities on Mt. Takao Photo:Autumn leaves on Mt. Takao, Hachioji, Tokyo Mt. Takao, located in Hachioji, Tokyo, is 599 meters above sea level. As a relatively easy-to-climb low-lying mountain, it's gaining popularity as a mountain where hikers and climbers can enjoy casual hiking and mountain climbing. There are both full-scale mountain climbing courses and hiking courses that can be completed in casual clothing, making the mountain enjoyable for adults and children alike. From the observatory at the top of the mountain, visitors can view the symbol of Japan, Mt. Fuji. Mt. Takao is also home to legends of tengu, Japanese goblins, that have been passed down for generations. Takao Yakuoin Temple, a Shingon sect temple located halfway up Mt. Takao, is said to bring good luck and ward off evil spirits. The main deity, Izuna Daigongen, a deity worshipped by Japanese warlords during the Warring States Period, is said to be accompanied by a tengu, and you can see statues of tengu in many places on Mt. Takao. [Video] 2:00 - Takao Yakuoin Temple Mt. Takao is also famous for its autumn leaves, which attract many tourists in the fall. Even though the mountain is not very tall, the temperature is lower than that of the ground, so be sure to dress warm when visiting. When to View the Autumn Leaves on Mt. Takao Photo:The cable car on Mt. Takao, Hachioji, Tokyo Mt. Takao's annual autumn leaves are at their best from mid-November to early December. The best places to view the autumn leaves on Mt. Takao are around Takao-yamaguchi Station, in front of Kiyotaki Station on the cable car, and halfway up the mountain on the cable car. In addition, a festival to celebrate the autumn leaves is held every year from early November to coincide with the autumn foliage of Mt. Takao. On holidays, various events, such as demonstrations of Tokyo Kokeshi doll-making and masu-zake (sake served in small boxes) enliven the celebration of the autumn leaves. Be sure to check event schedules in advance, as they are subject to change. Advanced Hiking Courses and Crowding Information on Mt. Takao Photo:Autumn leaves on Mt. Takao, Hachioji, Tokyo As Mt. Takao can be climbed by cable car or lift to the midpoint of the mountain, it attracts many visitors. It's said to be the most visited mountain in the world, with 3 million climbers per year. During the high season, particularly during the fall when hikers can view the autumn leaves, it's not unusual for visitors to have to wait up to an hour for the cable car. If you're planning on climbing or hiking Mt. Takao, we recommend checking the latest information regarding crowding conditions on social networking sites before visiting the mountain. If you want to see the autumn leaves in a relaxed atmosphere, we recommend arriving at the mountain early in the morning. The cable cars start running at 8:00 a.m., and there are fewer people on the mountain first thing in the morning, making this the best time to arrive. If you're a beginner, Mt. Takao can be ascended in about an hour by cable car, but there is also a course that can be enjoyed by advanced climbers. However, there is also a trail that advanced climbers can enjoy. This is the advanced course located at the branch leading to the southern trails 2 and 6. Compared to the gently paved beginners' trails, this trail is not paved and climbs along a mountain path that's too slippery for ordinary sports shoes. Therefore, trekking shoes or other mountaineering shoes are required for this trail. It's the most mountain trail-like course on Mt. Takao. Mt. Takao is truly a mountain that can be enjoyed by both beginners and advanced climbers alike, so if you're a nature lover, or just looking to enjoy some wonderful scenery, consider going for a hike up the mountain while appreciating the autumn leaves. Summary of Autumn Leaves and Sightseeing on Mt. Takao We've introduced Mt. Takao during the fall foliage season, but you can also enjoy Mt. Takao lit up in the summer. At Takao Yakuoin Temple, the statues at Niomon gate and the bronze statues of tengu are lit up with green and red lights. The nighttime scenery is completely different from that of the daytime, and will have you feeling as though you're in a scene from some mythological story. Mt. Takao, a famous place for viewing the autumn leaves, can be reached in about an hour by train from Shinjuku Station in central Tokyo. There are parking lots in the area, but expect crowds during the fall when people come to view the autumn leaves. Be sure to check information in advance before visiting the mountain as well. Mt. Takao is a great spot for climbing and hiking to view the autumn foliage. It'd be a shame to miss such beautiful scenery! 【TripAdvisor】Mt.
