Azuchi Castle, located in Omihachiman City, Shiga Prefecture, is a tourist destination known to many people for the taiga drama "E~Princess no Sengoku~" broadcast in Japan in 2011. Azuchi Castle, which no longer exists, is said to have once been a gorgeous castle.
The ruins of Azuchi Castle, the site of Oda Nobunaga's residence, are now a nationally designated special historic site and are also protected as a Class 1 Special Area of Lake Biwa Quasi-National Park.
