Bougainvillea Between the Onari Bridge and the Itogawa Bridge (about 180 meters) of the Itokawa River, which flows through the center of Atami City, bougainvillea is planted to cover the river. This bougainvillea blooms from May to October every year with beautiful tropical colors such as red, magenta, and purple. There is a staircase going down to the river near the Itokawa Bridge, making it a ♪ hidden photo spot The yellow "Hypericum Hidecoat" also adds color and is very nice. It peaks at the same time as jacaranda (late May ~ mid-June), so please visit here as well. < bougainvillea> A tropical shrub of the family Lycaenidae from South America (Brazil). In tropical countries, it blooms all year round, but in Japan it blooms from May ~ October. What looks like a flower is actually called a bract, and the small white thing that blooms in the center of the three bracts is a flower. The bracts have veins and are leaf-shaped. Thick meat of the bracts are thin, so they flutter in the wind. The bracts include red, white, peach, orange, yellow, and their multiple colors. 【Would you like to experience gold panning in Taiki Town?】 】 Gold dust is a hot topic in the movie "Golden Kamuy", which is currently a big hit, but at "Rekifune River" in Taiki Town, you can still experience gold panning in the old-fashioned way! It is said that the peak period of placer gold mining in the Rekifune River was from the Meiji 30 to the Taisho era, so it was ✨ right around the time when the gold bullion battle was taking place in Golden Kamuy Taiki Town also cooperates a little with the gold panning scene in the movie. Try to find Taiki Town in the end roll! This year's gold panning is scheduled to start around Golden Week. Come and experience it!

🍁 Recommended spots 🍁 in Taiki Town autumn The place where you can feel autumn in Taiki Town is "Sakashita Sensakai" where you can see beautiful autumn leaves. It's a little far away, so I'll show you how to get there! (1) If you run on the Shimizu Taiki Line (Hokkaido Route 55) from the upper Satsunai, you will see the sign on the right, and if you are coming from Taiki, you will see the sign on the left, so turn along the arrow. (2nd photo) (2) The orange bridge "Bikei Bridge" will come into view, so we will pass it. (3rd photo) (3) On the way, the road changes from paved road to gravel road, but if you continue on, you will see the orange bridge "Sakashita Ohashi", so you will pass it. (4th photo) (4) When you pass another gray bridge, you will see dairy farmers. A little further past the dairy farmer, there is a road divided into right and left, but please proceed towards the sign on the left. The sign says "Rekifune River tributary forest road" and you enter the forest road. (Photos 5 and 6) (5) Continue on the forest road for a while. When it rains, there are places that get muddy, and there are times when broken trees are falling, so go slowly. (7th photo) (6) I arrived at the "Hikata Bridge" over the Sakashita Senkai. (8th photo) There is a little space on the right after crossing the bridge, so you can park or make a U-turn. Visit Taiki's topic article "How to get to "Sakashita Senzai"" has more detailed directions, so please refer to it and go feel the autumn!

大井神社

On both sides of the approach to the shrine with a view of the worship hall, there is a pair of stone top dogs, which always protect the gods. This powerful and dignified komainu was dedicated in 1938 by a then-famous Japanese confectionery shop called "Oki Kyodo" in Hondori 5-chome, Shimada, the year after the start of the Sino-Japanese War (China Incident), and was carved by Shimada stonemason Masuno-chohei. The right pedestal is carved with the words "Takeyu" and the left pedestal is carved with "Nagahisa", and it seems that it is a top dog dedicated to pray for Japan's victory and peace, and the safety of those who went to war.

Salmon are running upstream! You can 👀 observe it up close at "Totorodo" Salmon are born in rivers, grow large in the sea, and eventually return up their hometown rivers. Fry recovered from their eggs in rivers descend to the sea in spring with melted snow, and travel back and forth between the Bering Sea in summer and the Gulf of Alaska in winter. Almost four years later, the mature salmon migrate south from the Bering Sea along the Kuril Islands, returning to their hometown rivers to spawn from September to November.
