[Hiking & Walking Event 2024 from the Station]

Implementation will be held in Chiba City to visit famous places in Chiba, such as Oogahas viewing, Chiba Town New Spot "Chiba Park Shiba Garden", Chiba Castle, Chiba Minato, etc.!

■ Mountain trail title: Viewing the world's oldest flower "Ogahasu" & Exploring new Spots, history and culture in Chiba Town
Period: Saturday, June 15, 2024 and Sunday, June 23, 2024
■ Reception hours: 8:30~11:00 *Please finish by 15:00.
■ Required time: Approximately 4 hours (including Visiting the site time at the facility)
■ Walking distance: about 10.0 km
■ Start: Chiba Station East Exit / Chiba City Tourist Information Center
・Passing points: Chiba Park (Renkatei, Shibaiwa), Chiba Shrine, Chiba City Museum of Art, Chiba Castle, Hagoromo no Matsu, Chiba City Science Museum, Chiba Port Square, Chiba City City Office (New Government Building), Chiba Prefecture Museum of Art, Chiba Port Tower, K's Harbor
■ Goal: Chiba Minato Station
■ Fee: Free * Additional costs such as facility admission fees may be incurred.

* During the period, the "Oga Lotus Festival" will be held in around Chiba Park Renkatei and Lotus Pond and around the multipurpose plaza.

〇What is Ogahas?
It is an ancient lotus discovered in 1951 by Dr. Ichiro Ohga and other Roux in the Kemigawa River in Chiba City, and is the oldest lotus in the world that was excavated from an old stratum and successfully germinated and grown. As a result of ancient measurements, it is known that it is a lotus that is more than 2,000 years old.

A walking event sponsored by JR East. It is characterized by the fact that you can easily participate while enjoying the superb scenery points of the four seasons.
