[Hakone Ekiden Museum]
The outgoing championship commemorative trophy made of Hakone parquet is on display!
The Hakone Ekiden Museum is exhibiting the Tokyo Hakone University Ekiden Race Outbound Trophy on display in the museum's special exhibition space until March 31, 2024 (Sunday), with the cooperation of the outgoing champion school from the 73rd edition of the Hakone Ekiden Race in 1997. At the Hakone Ekiden, which celebrated its 100th anniversary this year, there was a lot of cheering from the roadside on both the outward and return journeys, and the players were impressed by the scene where they ran hard to win the championship.
The trophy commemorating the outgoing victory is made of Hakone parquet, a traditional craft of Hakone, and by putting together trees of different colors to create a pattern, no two things can be the same, and it is the only championship cup in the world.
Please take a closer look at the precious Hakone parquet trophies won by the three schools that cooperated in this special exhibition, Kanagawa University, Toyo University, and Soka University.
