Kibune Chaya, a riverside teahouse in Kibune, Kyoto This video, titled "[4K Video] [Kyoto] Kawadoko in Kibune|Kibune-jaya (streambed cuisine) Washoku (Summer in Japan)" (【4K動画】【京都】貴船の川床(かわどこ)貴船茶屋(川床料理)和食(日本の夏)), was released by "movie fine." Kyoto City boasts an immovable popularity in the ranking of Japanese tourist attractions. The summer feature of Kyoto is your ship's Kawadoko. This is a video introducing Kifune Shrine which is one of the shops where you can enjoy the riverbed of your ship.Kyoto cuisine lunch and sukiyaki are popular. From the video 0:44, attractive dishes such as fish sashimi, tempura and dessert will appear one after another, so don't miss them! What is "Kawayuka" in Kyoto? Photo:Kawadoko cuisine in Kibune, Kyoto There are four areas in Kyoto in the summer that host Kawadoko: Kamogawa River (鴨川), Takao (高雄), Takagamine (鷹峯), and Kibune (木船). Kawadoko are a place to sit near the water and cool off, and are made with Japanese style tatami flooring called "Zashiki." They are also called "Noryo Yuka" in Japanese as well. The reason why Kyoto Takafune's Kawaboko is so popular Your ship is called "Kyo no Okuzashiki" along with the nearby Mt. Kurama (鞍馬山) .The riverbed is built on the Takifune River, which flows right next to Takifune Shrine, which is famous for its power spot. Even in midsummer, your ship is about 10 degrees Celsius lower than the temperature in Kyoto City, and it is also characterized by a comfortable time. It is said that during the Taisho period, people who put floor desks in the river and washed their feet were entertained with tea and food. While listening to the murmur of the river and the sound of the waterfall, you can enjoy Kyoto cuisine mainly with carp and sweetfish. Characteristics and recommendations of "Kifune Tea House" In order to relax and enjoy the riverbed, I would prefer to avoid congestion if possible.I recommend the Takifune tea house that I am introducing to you this time. The biggest attraction of the Kawadoko at Kibune-jaya is that they don't accept large groups or tour groups. The price is reasonable as well, so it won't put a strain on your wallet either. In addition, either side of the platoform faces the river, so you can soak your feet in it. By sampling Kibune-jaya's exquisite kaiseki cuisine while feeling the clear streams of Kyoto, shown at 0:30 in the video, both your mind and body will be at peace. Access to Kifune Shrine is also quite simple. It's only a 2-minute walk from Kibune-jaya. This is another great thing about Kibune-jaya. A pick-up service is available from the nearby Kibuneguchi Station as well, so it's convenient to let them know when you make a reservation. Fireflies in Late June Photo:Fireflies The Kawadoko at Kibune-jaya is open from May to September, but we highly recommend visiting from late June to mid-July. It's also the time when the fragrant Ninose lilies bloom, and fireflies can be seen flying around the Kibune River at night. If you're lucky, they may even appear on the Kawadoko at Kibune-jaya. Kibune is also home to a number of Ryokan (Japanese-style inns), notably "Beniya." It's a good idea to stay overnight after cooling off on the Kawadoko and go sightseeing in a different area the following day. It's also the time of year when Kurama Temple is surrounded by fresh greenery and the hydrangeas are in full bloom at Sanzen-in Temple. You're guaranteed to have a great trip, as Kyoto City is home to numerous places of interest, such as Shimogamo Shrine, Heian Shrine, Nanzen-ji Temple, Ginkaku-ji Temple (the Silver Pavilion), and Kyoto City Zoo. Kibune-jaya Summary Photo:View of the Kifune River Kibune-jaya was completely destroyed by a typhoon in 2019 and is undergoing reconstruction as of September 2020. It'll be interesting to see how the new appearance differs from that of the old shown in the video at 6:06. Check out the blog on the official website of the Kibune-jaya for the latest information! 【Yelp】Kibune-jaya https://www.yelp.com/biz/%E8%B2%B4%E8%88%B9%E8%8C%B6%E5%B1%8B-%E4%BA%AC%E9%83%BD%E5%B8%82?osq=%E8%B2%B4%E8%88%B9%E8%8C%B6%E5%B1%8B -

Ginkakuji Temple (The Silver Pavilion), officially called Jisho-ji Temple, was built by Ashikaga Yoshimasa, the 8th Shogun of the Muromachi period. The two buildings, Ginkakuji Temple and Togu-Do, are designated as national treasures. Kyoto has a Golden Pavilion and a Silver Pavilion, but unlike the Golden Pavilion, which has a golden exterior wall, the walls of the Silver Pavilion are not silver. The Silver Pavilion's calm and serene appearance with a Zen atmosphere is the charm of the building. The beautiful gardens are also a must-see at the Silver Pavilion. Kumamoto Castle is a famous sightseeing spot in Kumamoto. It was damaged in the Kumamoto Earthquake that struck on April 14th, 2016 and reconstruction is currently ongoing. After Kato Kiyomasa rebuilt the castle, it became the residence of the Hosokawa family of the Kumamoto Domain until the end of the Edo period. Condition of Reconstruction Photo:Restoration of Kumamoto Castle Kumamoto Castle was badly damaged in the 2016 earthquake. However, the castle barely survived, being supported by a single line of stone wall. This came to be called "The Stone Wall Miracle" and became a beacon of hope for the people affected by the disaster. The total cost of repairing Kumamoto Castle is estimated to be about 35.4 billion yen. If you donate more than 10,000 yen, you will receive a "Castle Lord Card" and "Castle Lord Certificate" and your name will be listed on the digital board. As of 2019, donations have exceeded 2 billion yen. The basic plan for reconstruction was created in 2018 and included "the early restoration of the castle tower, a symbol of reconstruction, and "a plan to lay the foundation to survive at least 100 years." Iya, Tokushima: Video Introduction This video, titled "One of the Top Three Unexplored Regions of Japan: Iya Valley and Kazurabashi Bridge: A Hidden Scenic Place in Tokushima (Tokushima, Japan)" (【日本三大秘境】祖谷の秘境とかずら橋 : A Hidden Scenic Place in Tokushima(Tokushima, Japan)), was uploaded by "Anna Film Production." Kazurabashi Bridge in Tokushima, Japan Photo:Kazurabashi Bridge, Tokushima Prefecture Kazurabashi Bridge is a suspension bridge that has been designated as an Important Cultural Property by the Japanese government and is located in Miyoshi, Tokushima, in Japan's Shikoku Region. There is also a Kazurabashi Bridge in Fukui Prefecture, but this article will focus on the bridge in Tokushima Prefecture. There are various theories about the history of Kazurabashi Bridge, such as that it was built the famous Buddhist monk Kukai (Kobo Daishi) for villagers in need, or that it was built by Heike warriors to allow them to escape from their pursuers and easily cut down the bridge. The bridge is approximately 2 meters wide and 45 meters long, and is made of vines from the hardy kiwi. When crossing the bridge, visitors can clearly see the scenery below through the gaps beneath their feet, making it a thrilling experience! This is a popular spot for both Japanese tourists, as well as foreign tourists. If you're looking to take some picturesque photos for Instagram, we recommend visiting during the illumination. [Video] 4:40 - Kazurabashi Bridge Another Vine Bridge in Tokushima Photo:Oku-Iya Double Vine Bridge, Miyoshi, Tokushima In Miyoshi, Tokushima, there is actually one more vine bridge to be found. This is Oku-Iya Double Vine Bridge. There are two bridges, a male bridge, and a female bridge, and together they are called "Meoto-bashi" (wedded bridges). There is also a bridge (gondola) called Yaen, which can be crossed by pulling a rope, but as of June 2022, it is out of service due to a malfunction. [Video] 12:44 - Oku-Iya Double Vine Bridge Ochiai Village – A Nationally Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings Photo:Ochiai Village, Iya, Tokushima Ochiai Village is situated on a steep slope. The village retains a historic original Japanese landscape with houses built from the mid-Edo period to the early Showa period and stacked stone walls. In 2005, it was registered as a Nationally Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings. In the video, you can see thatch-roofed houses and views of houses dotting the hillside. [Video] 0:16 - Ochiai Village The Beautiful Biwa Falls and a Village of Scarecrows Photo:Kakashi no Sato, Tokushima Prefecture Iya in Tokushima Prefecture is also known for its beautiful valleys. The 40-meter-tall Biwa Falls, named after a fallen Heike warrior who played the biwa at the falls in memory of the capital of Kyoto, is a relaxing waterfall where visitors bask in the abundant negative ions. Visitors can also enjoy a walk through the verdant Iya Valley to experience the pristine nature of the area. [Video] 7:29 - Biwa Falls Kakashi no Sato (lit. 'Scarecrow Village') is a name derived from the fact that many scarecrows can be seen in the Iya region. You can even see some of the expressive scarecrows in the video. It's a famous sightseeing spot in Tokushima and is also known as Ningyo-mura (doll village). [Video] 8:13 - A Village in the Sky, Kakashi no Sato Accommodations and Dining in the Iya Region of Tokushima, Japan If you are planning to stay in Iya, Tokushima, a recommended hotel is Hotel Kazurabashi. There are many hot spring resorts in Tokushima Prefecture, but this one offers open-air baths in the sky, accessed via cable car, so you can enjoy the natural beauty of the Iya Valley with some great views. We also recommend Hanbee no Ie (半兵衛の), a rest area/restaurant where visitors can relax around a sunken hearth. For meals, you can enjoy local dishes, such as grilled river fish, grilled fish coated with miso, wild vegetables, and other local delicacies. Forest Adventure Iya Valley: Experience the Great Outdoors in Tokushima, Japan Forest Adventure Iya Valley is an outdoor park that opened in 2017. The establishment offers exciting activities in the great outdoors! It features a long zipline, which makes you feel as though you're flying through the sky, and is especially popular with children. It's recommended to wear comfortable clothing and bring a change of clothes as well. Summary of Kazurabashi Bridge in Tokushima, Japan Photo:Kazurabashi Bridge, Iya, Tokushima The Iya region of Tokushima, Japan offers historic Japanese scenery and abundant natural beauty. To reach Kazurabashi Bridge, it takes about one hour from the Ikawa-Ikeda Interchange (井川・池田IC) by car. Iya, which retains its rustic scenery, presents a different beauty in each season, such as the autumn leaves in the fall. If you visit Tokushima, Japan, consider expanding your plan to include the area around the Kazurabashi Bridge. 【Official Website】Kazurabashi Bridge in Iya (Designated as an Important Tangible Folk Cultural Property by the government of Japan) https://miyoshi-tourism.jp/en/spot/iyanokazurabashi/ 【Tripadvisor】Kazurabashi Bridge in Iya, Tokushima https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g1023595-d1397339-Reviews-Iya_Kazura_Bridge-Miyoshi_Tokushima_Prefecture_Shikoku.html -

Aerial Views of Autumn Leaves on Mt. Daisen! Experience One of the Top Sightseeing Spots in Western Japan in Tottori Prefecture!

Aerial Views of Mt. Daisen in Tottori, Japan via Drone: Video Introduction This video, titled "Autumn Leaves of Mt.Daisen JAPAN【Scenery Of JAPAN 4K】," was uploaded by "SCENERY OF JAPAN." It introduces the breathtaking autumn leaves around Mt. Daisen in Tottori, Japan. Enjoy the beautiful panoramic scenery as far as the eye can see, in this magnificent 4.5-minute video of Mt. Daisen blanketed in autumn leaves. Daisenji Temple, a Must-See Tourist Attraction on Mt. Daisen Photo:Daisenji Temple, Tottori, Japan Mt. Daisen in Tottori Prefecture is located roughly in the center of Japan's San'in region. Its official name is "Hoki Daisen." The majestic mountain even appears in the Izumo Fudoki, a record of the history of Japan's former Izumo Region, which is said to have been written in 733 AD, making it one of the most historical mountains in the history of Japan. Daisenji Temple is one of the prominent tourist attractions on Mt. Daisen. To get there by car, take Prefectural Route 24 (commonly known as "Daisen Sightseeing Road" (大山観光道路, Daisen Kanko Douro)) from the Yonago Interchange on the Yonago Expressway to the Bakuroza parking lot (about 15 minutes), or by train or bus from JR Yonago Station to Daisenji Temple by Nikko Bus (about 50 minutes). Both routes offer a great view of the stunning autumn leaves. Daisenji Temple has a history of flourishing as a training center for Shugendo (mountain asceticism). At its peak, the temple had more than 100 temples and over 3,000 monks. Following the Heian period (794-1185 A.D.), the number of temples increased as mountain worship became increasingly Buddhist. It's said that at one time, the temple was as prosperous as Mt. Hiei, Mt. Yoshino, and Koyasan, 3 of the most prominent places for Buddhism in Japan. Beautiful Views, Autumn Leaves, and Mountain Climbing on Mt. Daisen Photo:Autumn leaves on Mt. Daisen The autumn leaves overlooking the rugged southern cliff of Mt. Daisen is truly a photogenic spot. Although there have been some changes over the past few years due to climate change, the leaves usually begin to change color in early October and are at their peak from late October to early November. The white snow on the top of the mountain and red autumn leaves blend harmoniously with each other, adding even more color to the already spectacular view. You can view this in the video. [Video] 0:11 - Spectacular Autumn Leaves on the South Face of Mt. Daisen in the Snow, Captured via Drone The forests are mainly broadleaf forests renowned for their beautiful autumn leaves, with beech, oak, maple, rowans, and mizunara oak being the main species. Mt. Daisen is the largest mountain in Japan's Chugoku and San'in regions and also one of the 100 Famous Japanese Mountains. It is popular among climbers, tourists, and travelers year-round. Although it sits at an elevation of 1,709 meters, its beautiful conical shape seen from the northwestern side has earned it the nickname "Mt. Fuji in the East." Mt. Daisen's 2022 Autumn Illumination Event – Autumn Leaves & Traditional Japanese Umbrellas Photo:Mt. Daisen's illumination event, Tottori, Japan The autumn illumination event started as part of the 1,300th anniversary of the founding of Mt. Daisen in 2018, and is now a tradition of Mt. Daisen. Only because Tottori Prefecture has a large number of craftsmen is it possible to organize the autumn illumination displaying more than 100 wagasa (traditional Japanese umbrellas). The festival is held during the Obon Festival every year, but in 2022, it was held in October for the first time in two years. The event welcomed visitors with 120 wagasa and a variety of lanterns. In addition, there was a system for taking beautiful photos with the use of a smartphone, and a commemorative photo spot as well. It's a remarkable event, great for taking photos. Tickets for the 2022 event were sold exclusively online. No tickets were sold on the day of the event. We recommend checking ticket and other information as soon as possible in advance if you're planning to attend the next event. [Video] 2:44 - The Beautiful 'Mt. Fuji in the East' Summary of Autumn Leaves on Mt. Daisen During autumn on Mt. Daisen, a famous mountain in Tottori, Japan, the entire area is covered in beautiful autumn leaves. One of the most popular driving courses is the tunnel of autumn leaves leading to Kagikake Pass (鍵掛峠, Kagikake Toge). [Video] 1:32 - A Tunnel of Beautiful Beech Trees Leading To Kagikake Pass On weekends and other occasions, you can expect traffic on Prefectural Route 24. Even still, Mt. Daisen's autumn leaves are worth the time and effort to see. The autumn colors paint a magnificent canvas of autumn on Mt. Daisen, and we hope that you will enjoy the unique autumn leaves of Mt. Daisen with your own eyes. 【TripAdvisor】Mt. Daisen https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g1121369-d1373369-Reviews-Mt_Daisen-Daisen_cho_Saihaku_gun_Tottori_Prefecture_Chugoku.html -

Nanao Castle – An Introductory Video on One of the Top 100 Castles of Japan This video, titled "Nanao Castle in ISHIKAWA, JAPAN / #34 of the Top 100 Castles of Japan|4K" (【石川/日本100名城】七尾城/難攻不落の天宮 4K - Nanao castle in ISHIKAWA, JAPAN / The Top 100 Castles in Japan No.34 -), was uploaded by "channel WASABI." Introduces the ruins of Nanao Castle, a mountain castle in Nanao, Ishikawa, in Japan's Koshinetsu region, in beautiful 4K quality! Nanao Castle, one of the Top 100 Castles of Japan and a Nationally Designated Historic Site, is located at an elevation of 300m, overlooking Nanao Bay and the Noto Peninsula from the honmaru (inner citadel). Nanao Castle was considered an impregnable fortress during its prime, and you can still see the stone walls where the major parts of the castle were previously located. In this article, we'll introduce tourist information and travel tips for anyone planning to visit Nanao Castle. The video introduces the breathtaking scenery of Nanao Castle, a vast area located on a mountain ridge in the forests of Japan. For those who have studied or are interested in Japanese history, it paints a good picture of what the Sengoku Period (Japan's warring states period; around 1467 - 1615 AD) was like. Exploring the History of Nanao Castle Photo:Nanao Castle inner bailey ruins, Nanao, Ishikawa Nanao Castle is a mountain castle with a "kuruwa" (castle wall) on each of the seven ridges: Matsuo, Takeo, Umeo, Kikuo, Kameo, Torao, Tatsuo. There are still references that show it was also referred to as "Matsuo Castle," written both "松尾城" and "末尾城" (same pronunciation different kanji/spelling). Nanao Castle was built in the first half of the 16th century as the residence of the Hatakeyama Clan, a Japanese samurai clan who governed the province of Noto. It is a fortified castle that is said to be one of the Five Great Mountain Castles of Japan, and it fell after a roughly year-long battle with Uesugi Kenshin's forces. After that, Oda Nobunaga appointed Maeda Toshiie as Lord of Noto giving him the castle, however, after Toshiie moved to Kanazawa Castle, Nanao Castle was abandoned. Nanao Castle - Highlights and Tourist Information Photo:The view from Nanao Castle, Nanao, Ishikawa Nanao Castle is a large mountain castle. Highlights of Nanao Castle include the many stone walls that remain in nearly the same condition they were in hundreds of years ago, as well as the scenery of Nanao Bay and the Noto Peninsula which can be seen from the top of the mountain. The climbing route to reach Nanao Castle is covered with wood chips, but we recommended wearing shoes that are easy to walk in. If you want to climb from the foot of the mountain, you can use the Nanao Castle Trailhead Parking Lot (七尾城登山口駐車場), or you can park your car in the parking lot of the Nanao Castle History Museum and purchase a Nanao Castle Seal Stamp or a memorial stamp of the Top 100 Castles of Japan before starting your hike. At the Nanao Castle History Museum, visitors can explore exhibits such as excavated items related to Nanao Castle and reconstructions of Nanao Castle via computer generated architecture. In addition, the Nationally Registered Cultural Property "Kaikokan" (the former Iida family residence), which is adjacent to the museum, is another tourist attraction worth checking out. The time required to climb the mountain is about ~40 minutes from the parking lot of the Nanao Castle History Museum, following the formerly used road to the honmaru (inner citadel) ruins. There is also a 150-minute course for those looking to really explore and conquer the vast grounds of Nanao Castle. Photo:Nanao Station If you visit Nanao Castle via public transportation, you can reach the Nanao Castle History Museum from "Nanao Station" on the JR Nanao Line by taking the city circuit bus "Marin-go" (まりん号) and getting off at "Joyama no Sato" (城山の里). From there it's about a 60-minute walk. The stone wall of the Sakurababa Bailey Ruins above Chodo-maru (a former weapon's warehouse) is shown at 0:40 in the video, and the stone wall of the Honmaru Ruins at 2:42 are some of the highlights of Nanao Castle. There's also a shrine in the honmaru, and the scenery you can see from the Nanao Joyama Observatory, which is known to have been praised by Uesugi Kenshin, is shown at 3:52 in the video. Summary of the Nanao Castle Ruins This video, titled "Nanao Castle in ISHIKAWA, JAPAN / #34 of the Top 100 Castles of Japan|4K," introduces Nanao Castle, a formerly impregnable mountain castle in Ishikawa Prefecture, in beautiful 4K. Flower Garden of Light, a Mother Farm Illumination: Video Introduction Photo:An illumination at Mother Farm This video, titled "Mother Farm Illuminations 2019-2020 — Flower Garden of Light" (マザー牧場 イルミネーション 2019-2020 光の花園), was uploaded by "Mother Farm" (マザー僕所). In this video, you can watch the 2019-2020 Flower Garden of Light event, a light show which took place at Mother Farm. Mother Farm is located on the slopes of Mt. Kano (鹿野山, kano-zan), from which breathtaking views of the Boso Peninsula, Tokyo Bay, Mt. Fuji, and Japan's beautiful mountain ranges can be seen. Occupying a vast swathe of land in Futtsu, Chiba, in Japan's Kanto region, Mother Farm was established in February 1962 by Hisakichi Maeda, the same man who established the Sankei Shimbun (a daily newspaper in Japan) and Tokyo Tower. One of Mother Farm's biggest draws is the fact that visitors can interact with a large variety of animals through events and feeding experiences. With great food and events, there's enough excitement for both kids and adults to spend a full day thoroughly enjoying themselves here. This hugely popular leisure spot in Japan's Kanto region is one of the first things that comes to mind when people think of Chiba prefecture. Of all of Mother Farm's seasonal events, the one that has people buzzing in anticipation about the most each year is the winter illumination show. With the theme "Flower Garden of Light," the show's colorful lights — which resemble the seasonal flowers of Japan — will bring the farm to life at night once again this year. Check out the video and be captivated by the farm's beautiful illuminations. [Video] 0:13 - One Million Lights [Video] 0:19 - Flower Field of Light [Video] 0:25 - Night-Time Bungie Jumping Amongst the Lights Highlights of Flower Garden of Light, a Mother Farm's Illumination Event Photo:Mother Farm, an amusement park in Chiba Prefecture Next, we'll walk you through some of the highlights of Flower Garden of Light, the illumination event at Mother Farm. ● Flower Field of Light Our top recommendation is the Flower Field of Light; the highest altitude illumination in Chiba Prefecture. In the Flower Field of Light area, visitors can see such delights as Mt. Fuji silhouetted against the dusk sky and Tokyo Bay's night views, all while enjoying the illuminations. The combination of the wintry flower meadow's twinkling lights and the surrounding scenery as the sunlight begins to fade, slowly giving way to night makes this a must-see attraction. ●Photo spot fairy area The newly introduced fairy area in 2023 will feature a landscape of melancholy light such as flower fields and windmills. Let's take a cute picture in "Fairy Country". ● Night-Time Amusement Park The sparkling Night-Time Amusement Park is home to Chiba's tallest (at its tallest point) Ferris wheel, merry go rounds, and, located 321 meters above sea level, the Night-Time Bungie Jump. Both children and adults are sure to lose track of time as they enjoy playing to their hearts' content. Food and Accommodations at Mother Farm Source :YouTube screenshot It would be a crime to miss the warming farm cuisine available at Mother Farm. Available only during the illumination season, the "All-You-Can-Eat Big Double Winter Warmer" (あったか2大食べ放題) offers Meisui Bamboo Steamed Mochi Pork (high quality pork steamed using water from a renowned water source), which can only be eaten at this time of year, and jingisukan (a Japanese mutton dish named after Ghengis Khan) on a 90-minute all you can eat menu. The warm, tasty food is sure to revitalize after enduring the cold temperatures outside. Add in a fully-stocked side menu and collection of limited sale sweets, and even the biggest of appetites will be satiated without a doubt. Mother Farm also offers value set tickets, advance tickets, and group plans, so make sure you check these out as well. [Video] 0:34 - All-You-Can-Eat Big Double Winter Warmer For those wishing to stay overnight, Mother Farm's partner hotel, Okura Akademia Park Hotel will get you in that holiday resort state of mind, and can be reached in 25 minutes by car from Mother Farm. It is also conveniently located approximately 60 minutes from central Tokyo via the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line. Okura Akademia stands on the Kazusa Hill Range, surrounded by the sea and an abundance of greenery. An elegant and refined space with a balcony in each guest room, and seasonal ingredients from the Boso Peninsula in the restaurant, it's a great place to rest your weary body after a fun-filled day. Animal Events at Mother Farm Photo:A sheep at Mother Farm, Chiba Prefecture One of the biggest reasons for Mother Farm's popularity is that visitors can actually interact with the animals. This remains true even throughout the illumination season at Mother Farm. Relax with rabbits and guinea pigs at Bunny-Guinea Touch (うさモルタッチ, usa moru tacchi), or interact with fluffy sheep with a sheep feeding experience. It's a soothing experience for kids and adults alike. We hope you'll have a wonderful time with the adorable animals at these events! Mother Farm Illumination: Roundup Be it the night views, the cuisine, or the events, there's so much to do at the Mother Farm illumination! The fact that the venue is easily accessible by car or train from Japan's Kanto region makes it an even more attractive destination. They produce purple-red flowers as well as peach-red and light-red flowers, and are at their best from late May to mid-June in Japan. A unique plant found only in the high mountains of Japan's Kyushu Region, it's distributed on Mt. Kirishima, Mt. Aso, Mt. Kokonoe, Mt. Unzen, etc. On Mt. Tsurumi in Beppu, Oita, in Japan's Kyushu region, approximately 5,000 Kyushu azaleas bloom all at once every spring. [Video] 0:45 - Kyushu Azaleas The contrast between the pink carpet of azaleas, the mountains in the distance, and the blue skies makes this a truly photogenic spot! You can see the birds chirping and butterflies fluttering about in the video as well. [Video] 10:49 - Azaleas and the Mountains of Kyushu The Seasonal Views of Mt. Tsurumi is famous for its rime in winter. Rime is a phenomenon that occurs when the temperature drops below freezing, covering the trees and other flora with frost. When this happens, the entire mountain is transformed into a silvery white world. Mt. Tsurumi is a mountain rich in nature where you can enjoy completely different views in each season. Mt. We recommend wearing clothes that are easy to move in and that you do not mind getting dirty. Since you will be walking on unpaved terrain, heels and sandals are not permitted, and sneakers or other comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Helmets are required on the Niseko Zipline, so if you have long hair, tie it up with a hair band in advance. If you're thinking about riding the Niseko Zipline on a rainy day, we recommend wearing a waterproof windbreaker or rain jacket. This will protect you from rainwater and provide a comfortable aerial experience. That being said, in the event of inclement weather, some activities may not take place or the number of active ziplines may change. Please check the weather forecast in advance. The Hydrangeas of Yanagidani Kannon (Yokokuji Temple): Video Introduction This video, titled "Hydrangea and Yanagidanikannon Youkoku-ji Temple"(【京都の紫陽花】柳谷観音(楊谷寺):hydrangea and Yanagidanikannon Youkoku-ji Temple/花手水)) was uploaded by "Kawaii Kyoto." Located deep in the mountains, approximately 10 minutes from the city center of Nagaokakyo in Kyoto via car, sits Yanagidani Kannon (Yokokuji Temple), a temple with a variety of interesting sights throughout the year. A temizuya or chozuya is a basin at a temple or shrine where water is available for washing and purifying the hands and mouth before visiting the temple or shrine. It is often located alongside the approach to the temple/shrine. Yokokuji Temple is said to be the birthplace of hanachozu (花手水), which are chozuya filled with flowers. During hydrangea week, the temple grounds are filled with colorful hydrangeas. The color of hydrangeas, a cool light blue, is said to refresh the body and mind and relieve stress. Enjoy the beautiful images of Yokokuji Temple to the sound of birds chirping, along with the flower pots, the hydrangeas blooming on the temple grounds, and the lush greenery of the garden. Introduction to Yokokuji Temple, Kyoto, One of the Most Famous Ancient Temples in Japan Photo:Yanagidani Kannon (Yokokuji Temple), Kyoto Located in Nagaokakyo, Kyoto, Yokokuji Temple is an ancient temple that was opened in the early Heian Period (794 - 1185 AD). The principal deity is the eleven-faced, thousand-armed, thousand-eyed Kannon (Goddess of Mercy), who is said to cure people of eye diseases. The temple is open to the public on the 17th of every month, so be sure to remember that if you're planning on stopping by for a visit. The temple is also home to a spring water called "Okouzui," which is believed to be a holy water for healing eye diseases, and attracts many visitors. The Seasonal Faces of the Flower Pots at Yokokuji Temple Photo:Hanachozu at Yanagidani Kannon (Yokokuji Temple), Kyoto Yokokuji Temple, rich in natural beauty, offers different views in each season. These include Hydrangea Week from early June to early July, when the hydrangeas are at their best, and Momiji Week from mid-November to mid-December, when the autumn leaves are at their best. The hanachozu (the water basins filled with flowers) are highly popular on Japanese social media. In addition to the hydrangeas, there are cherry blossoms in spring, sunflowers and dahlias in summer, and colorful autumn leaves in the fall, all of which can be seen decorating the flower pots in their respective season. Be sure to check out the official Instagram page for Yokokuji Temple (@yanagidanikannon) to see the seasonal flowers floating in the flower basins. In the summer of 2022, the temple grounds were also decorated with pinwheels and wind chimes. Hydrangea Week at Yokokuji Temple Photo:Hydrangeas at Yanagidani Kannon (Yokokuji Temple), Kyoto Hydrangea Week at Yokokuji Temple is usually held around early June to early July, the best time to view the hydrangeas. The official website confirms that the hydrangeas will be in full bloom on June 23 in 2023. There are approximately 5,000 hydrangeas at Yokokuji Temple, making it the largest hydrangea temple in Kyoto. If you're thinking about visiting during the full bloom period, be sure to check the official website or Instagram to see the blooming conditions before you visit. Moreover, crowds can be expected during the Hydrangea Festival and Momiji Week. There are several parking lots available, but please note that the parking lots in front of the gate fill up quickly during the high season. Hands-on Classes at Yokokuji Temple Yanagidani Kannon/Yokokuji Temple also offers a variety of hands-on classes. In addition to seal making using pressed flowers, which is held on the 17th of every month, bead bracelet making and other classes are held occasionally as well. If you're interested, be sure to follow their social media accounts to find out when these classes are held. They also have a variety of regular classes as well. Colorful Autumn Leaves at Yokokuji Temple Photo:Autumn leaves in a hanachozu at Yanagidani Kannon (Yokokuji Temple), Kyoto In autumn, Yokokuji Temple is actually a great spot for viewing the autumn foliage. The entire mountain is beautifully colored and you can enjoy the autumn leaves from the temple precincts. The best time to view the autumn leaves is from November to mid-December. In 2022, the best time to view the leaves was in late November, so you can expect the same in 2023. It's a lesser-known tourist attraction, so it's possible to avoid the crowds here to a degree in a relaxed and quiet atmosphere. The inner shrine approach and Ganriki Inari (眼力稲荷) shrine area of the precincts of the temple, as well as Kamishoin (上書院) and Meisho Garden (名勝庭園, Meisho Teien), which is open to the public only on the 17th of each month, are also highlights of the autumn foliage season. During Momiji Week, the garden is illuminated brilliantly at night, creating a wonderful atmosphere. Why not capture the beautiful scenery with your camera at Yokokuji Temple, where there are many scenic spots to view the autumn leaves? How to Get to Yanagidani Kannon (Yokokuji Temple) Unfortunately, Yokokuji Temple is not the most accessible attraction. The easiest way to get to the temple if you don't have your own vehicle is by taxi from Nagaokakyo Station, Nagaoka-Tenjin Station, or Nishiyama-Tennozan Station (Approximately 10 mins.). Even by bus, from the nearest bus stop it's a 40-minute walk to the temple. If you like hiking or just want to explore a lesser-known tourist attraction in Japan, we definitely recommend making the hike. Other Temples to Visit in Kyoto Being the ancient capital of Japan, Kyoto is home to an estimated 3,000 temples. Below are 3 temples you should visit when traveling to Kyoto: Kiyomizudera A UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its elevated stage with beautiful seasonal views. The temple is also home to a 3-story pagoda overlooking the city of Kyoto. Kinkakuji Also known as the golden pavilion, the temple, covered in golden leaf, was built in the 14th century and is located inside of a beautiful Japanese garden. It is also a registered UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ryoanji Temple A Zen temple in northwest Kyoto that was founded during the Onin War (1467 - 1477 AD). On top of being a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the temple features a lovely dry rock garden. Summary of Yanagidani Kannon (Yokokuji Temple) Kyoto's Yanagidani Kannon, aka Yokokuji Temple, is a healing spot where you can have a wonderful time throughout the year. The flowers in the flower pots remind visitors of the changing seasons in Japan. When you visit Kyoto on a trip, be sure to stop by Yokokuji Temple! [TripAdvisor] Yokokuji Temple -

Hydrangeas at Unshoji Temple Photo:Hydrangeas at Unshoji Temple, Oga, Akita The highlight of Unshoji Temple is the beautiful blue world that can be seen there. On a clear day, the blue of the cloudless sky, the blue of the sea in Oga, and the blue of the hydrangeas at Unshoji Temple all combine to create a unique view that you won't find anywhere else. Hydrangeas at Unshoji Temple, also known as "hydrangea temple," date back to when the temple's deputy chief priest was captivated by the beauty of a single hydrangea that was blooming quietly in a corner of the temple's grounds. After seeing this he began to take cuttings and plant the hydrangea to the delight of his parishioners and local residents. After 15 years, the hydrangea bloomed like a carpet of blue, moving the hearts of all who saw it. At night, when the hydrangeas are lit up, their blue color becomes deeper and more beautiful than in the daytime, creating fantastic scenery. The best time to view the hydrangeas is usually from mid-June to early July, and they are in full bloom in late June. In addition to the joint tomb of the statues of Kannon and Kshitigarbha, the temple grounds are dotted with photogenic spots where you can take great pictures for Instagram, including elegant bamboo groves, Japanese umbrellas (wagasa), and the view from the observation deck. There are also "heart stones" in seven locations around the temple, which are said to grant wishes if found, and the gentle-looking Smiling Jizo. Be sure to check them out when you visit.
