National Route 383 (四国カルスト公園縦断線, Shikoku Karst Park Traverse) offers extraordinary scenery, including dairy cows and giant windmills. Enjoying Your Trip to Shikoku Karst Photo:The Mezurudaira Camping Ground at Shikoku Karst, Ehime & Kochi Prefectures Shikoku Karst, known as the "Karst of the Skies" and the "Switzerland of Japan," is beautiful in all four seasons. Particularly elegant is the silver grass in autumn, shown at 1:30 in the video. In the summer, we recommend pitching a tent and staying overnight at the Mezurudaira Camping Ground and stargazing under the beautiful night sky. If you aren't able to bring your own camping gear then we recommend staying at "Tenguso" (高原ふれあいの家 天狗荘) on "Forest Therapy Road" (森林セラピーロード). Tenguso also serves an excellent lunch, so be sure to make a reservation. The Godan Highlands (五段高原), Mezurudaira (姫鶴平), Onogahara (大野ヶ原), and the Tengu Forest (天狗の森) of Tengu Highland Forest (天狗高原自然林) in Shikoku Karst are all ideal for hiking. On the roadside, you can see pretty flowers, such as Japanese ligularia, bamboo lily, morning star lily, and more, so be sure to keep an eye out for them. Summary of Shikoku Karst Photo:Shikoku Karst, Ehime & Kochi Prefectures This introductory video for Shikoku Karst shows a spectacular view of the natural scenery and landscapes of Japan. In addition, while many people visit Shikoku Karst by car, it's also possible to visit by bike. Keep in mind, however, that depending on the season, roads may be closed, so we recommend checking live cameras before visiting. Also, make sure to research transportation access, weather, and temperatures before your trip so you'll be fully prepared! 【Official Website】Shikoku Karst – A Place of Scenic Beauty https://www.visitehimejapan.com/en/see-and-do/6614 【Tripadvisor】Shikoku Karst https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g1121435-d1383884-Reviews-Shikoku_Karst-Kumakogen_cho_Kamiukena_gun_Ehime_Prefecture_Shikoku.html -

This video is "A Healing journey in Ehime - A Paradise of Love and Princesses - (Ehime Prefecture Tourism PR Video)"(いやされて愛媛旅~愛と姫の楽園~(愛媛県観光PR動画)) created by "EhimePref". One of Japan's leading tourist destinations, Ehime Prefecture, in the Shikoku region, is divided into three areas: Toyo, Chuyo and Nanyo. Toyo is one of the most popular tourist spots, with Imabari City and Saijo City, which are known for its Imabari Towels. The Nishi Seto Expressway has nine islands connecting Ehime and Hiroshima, with a total length of about 70 km, and we recommend the canyoning route for cyclists. The Chuyo area is the center of Ehime! Dogo Onsen, a World Heritage Site, is located in Matsuyama City, where the prefectural capital is located. There are many tourist spots related to Japanese history and culture there. The area around Dogo Onsen Station can be used for rickshaw strolls and more, which provides an authentic Japanese atmosphere! The Nanyo area is rich in nature, including the sea, rivers, and forests, as well as Ozu City, known as the little Kyoto of Iyo, and Uchiko, one of Nanyo's most famous scenic spots, where you can see nostalgic Japanese scenery that will take you back in time. Oze National Park Travel Guide: Discover Hiking Trails and the Nature of Oze, Fukushima + Learn How to Get to Oze National Park From Tokyo!

The Skunk Cabbage of Oze National Park in 2022: Video Introduction This video, titled "The Skunk Cabbage of Oze Marsh, 2022|A Skunk Cabbage Colony in the Shimono Ohori River" (2022 尾瀬の水芭蕉 尾瀬ヶ原 下の大堀川ミズバショウ群生地), was uploaded by "Northen Japanese Alps Nature Video." The bright landscape of Oze National Park, introduced in the nine minutes of video, is as beautiful as an impressionist painting. In the video, taken on May 29th, 2022, you can see there is some snow left on the surface of Mt. Shibutsu (至仏山, Shibutsuzan) and the majestic mountain can be seen towering against the blue sky. Fully bloomed skunk cabbages sway in the wind on the vast marshland at the foot of Mt. Shibutsu. The abundance of water in Oze National Park is also home to frogs and other creatures and you can even hear frogs, a sound you won't hear in the cities. Walking along the boardwalk of Oze Marsh (尾瀬ケ原, Ozegahara) while listening to the bubbling of the Shimono Ohori River (下ノ大堀川 Shimono Ohori River) is therapeutic. Oze, a Place Whose Beauty is Sung About in Traditional Japanese Songs Photo:Oze National Park The beauty of Oze is no secret to the people of Japan, and it has even been featured in traditional Japanese songs dating back to the 1940s. But for those of us not familiar with Oze, here's a quick introduction. Oze is a plateau that straddles the four prefectures of Fukushima, Niigata, Gunma, and Tochigi. Oze is a basin surrounded by 2000-meter-tall mountains, such as Mt.Shibutsu (至仏山, Shibtsusan), Hiuchigatake (燧ヶ岳, Hiuchigatake), Mt. Keizuru (景鶴山, Keizuruyama), and Mt. Nakahara (中原山, Nakaharayama). The marshland centering on Oze Marsh, which is said to have been formed around 10,000 years ago, was designated as Oze National Park (尾瀬国立公園 Oze Kokuritsu Koen) in 2007 and as such, the terms "Oze" and "Oze National Park" are synonymous with one another. Oze National Park is a major scenic spot that has been selected as one of the Top 100 Views of Japan. Other than the marshland of Oze Marsh, many ponds and swamps can be seen on the nearby mountainsides. After the snow melts in May, all the plants and trees bloom at once. There are boardwalks and benches as well, so visitors can enjoy a refreshing walk while taking in all of the natural scenery. The Skunk Cabbage of Oze National Park – A Treat for the Eyes Photo:Skunk cabbage Asian Skunk Cabbage is characterized by its large white petals, but these white petal-like things are not actually petals, rather, they are bracts, which are specialized leaves. Skunk Cabbage is called "Mizubasho" in Japanese (水芭蕉, lit. 'Water Banana'). The name comes from the shape of its leaves, which resemble those of the Japanese banana plant, and from the fact that it grows near water. It's a perennial plant of the arum family that grows in mountainous marshlands, and its flowers are at their best from late May to mid-June in Japan. Although bloom dates are dependent on the amount of snowfall each year, the best time to see skunk cabbage in Oze National Park is the same; late May to early June. In the first week of June especially, Oze National Park is crowded with tourists looking to see the clusters of skunk cabbage in bloom. The Nature of Oze National Park & 2 Popular Hiking Courses in the Area There are many hiking courses in Oze National Park, but the two most popular hiking courses are the Ozegahara Course and the Ozenuma Course. These two courses are recommended for first-time visitors to Oze National Park. Incidentally, the hiking course introduced in the video is the Ozegahara Course. Photo:Ozegahara ●Ozegahara Course This course circles Oze Marsh, the largest marshland on Japan's mainland. The boardwalk is well maintained, so even beginners can walk the course with ease. [Main route] Hatomachi Toge (鳩待峠, Hatomachitoge)→ Yamanohana Visitor Center (山ノ花, Yamanohana)→ Kamino - Ohori River (上ノ大堀川, Kamino Ohori Kawa)→ Ushikubi (牛首, Ushikubi)→ Miharashi (見晴, Miharashi)→ Ryugu Hut (龍宮小屋, Ryugu Goya) (Overnight stay). ※If you're visiting on a day trip, turn back at Kamino - Ohori River or Ushikubi. Ryugu Hut→ Miharashi→ Akatashiro Branch (Akadashiro Bunki)→ Yoppi Suspension Bridge (ヨッピ吊橋 Yoppi Tsuribashi)→ Ushikubi→ Yamanohana Visitor Center→ Hatomachi Toge [Video] 1:28 - Walkers on a Well-Maintained Wooden Path Photo:Oze Marsh and Hiuchigatake ●Ozenuma Course This is a hiking course around Lake Ozenuma and it's the course with the least amount of inclines and declines. Although this course can be hiked on a day trip, it's recommended that you stay overnight at a lodge. Lake Ozenuma at sunset with the stars in the night sky makes for an unforgettable experience. The Numayama Pass Observation Deck (沼山峠展望台, Numayama Toge Tenboudai) is located at the end of a conifer forest uphill from the Oze Numayama Pass bus stop. Here you can enjoy a panoramic view of Lake Ozenuma. On the first day, go to Sanpeishita (三平下) via the east bank of Lake Ozenuma. From Sanpeishita, you can see Hiuchigatake (燧ヶ岳, Hiuchigatake) and Lake Ozenuma, making it a popular vantage point. On the second day, start from the south bank of Lake Ozenuma to Numajiri (沼尻, Numajiri). Numajiri is also a beautiful place with ponds and in spring and summer, you can see pygmy water-lilies and Japanese thistle. After passing through the north bank of Oze Marsh, return to Numayama Pass. [Main route] Numayama Pass→ Ozenuma Villa (Overnight stay) Ozenuma Villa→ Numajiri→ Oze Marsh→ Numayama Pass Hotels, Hot Springs, and Where to Eat Near Oze National Park Photo:The Hatomachi Toge Rest Area The Hatomachi Toge Rest Area is located at Hatomachi Toge, the starting point of Ozegahara in Gunma Prefecture. Many tourists use this spot to prepare before hiking and to eat. The Hanamame Soft Cream ice cream is also popular. For visitors to Oze National Park, we recommend the Sky Terrace (天空テラス, Tenku Terasu) located 2,000 meters above sea level and the free Foot Bath in the Sky (天空の足湯, Tenku no Ashiyu). It takes about 15 minutes by the Nikko Shiranesan Ropeway (日光白根山 Nikko-Shirane San) to reach the summit station. Located on the border with Nikko, Tochigi, you can relax while enjoying a view of Mt. Nikko-Shirane. At Oze Katashina, a roadside station in Tone, Gunma Prefecture, visitors can enjoy direct sales of fresh highland vegetables from Katashina Village (片品村, Katashina Mura), as well as delicious meals prepared using locally grown vegetables at Katashina Diner (かたしな食堂, Katashina Shokudo)" and "Village People's Kitchen (村民キッチン, Sonmin Kicchin)." If you are considering staying near Oze National Park, Oze Hut (尾瀬小屋 Oze Koya) is another great spot we recommend. Despite the name of "hut," it's clean and has excellent facilities, such as the Oze Hut Terrace (尾瀬小屋テラス Oze Koya Terasu), which is open to outside visitors, as well as hot springs. The food is so good that it's hard to believe that it's located in the middle of Oze Marsh. How to Get To Oze National Park From Tokyo From Tokyo there are several ways to get to Oze National Park and there are also several different trailheads to enter the park from. From Tokyo, the easiest entry to the park via public transportation is the Hatomachi Toge trailhead. Tokyo Station to Oze National Park: Hatomachi Toge Trailhead From Tokyo Station, take the Joetsu Shinkansen to Jomokogen Station (1 hr. 10 mins), from Jomokogen Station, take a Kan'etsu Bus to Numata Station (25 mins), from Numata Station, take a Kan'etsu Bus to Togura Station (1 hr. 15 mins), and from Togura, once more take a Kan'etsu Bus to Hatomachi Toge (35 mins). In total it will take approximately 4 hours to reach the Hatomachi Toge trailhead from Tokyo Station. Keep in mind that this is just one route and there are many different trailheads with which to start a hike in Oze National Park. Summary of Oze National Park's Charming Skunk Cabbage Oze National Park is the largest high-altitude marshland on Japan's mainland, and straddles the four prefectures of Fukushima, Niigata, Gunma, and Tochigi. Because of its vast geographical area, you can enjoy the nature of Oze with both hiking and overnight stays. When the short summer comes, various flowers bloom in Oze National Park. From late May to June in particular, when skunk cabbages, the representative flower of Oze National Park, are in bloom, many people visit Oze National Park to see the beautiful scenery. We hope this article can help you enjoy your trip to Oze National Park. Be sure to follow the hiking courses introduced above if you visit! 【Trip Advisor】Oze Marsh -

The most unique feature of Nabegataki Falls is that visitors can view the waterfall from behind, and see its curtain-like appearance in all of its beauty (video 1:34). Because of this, it's a popular travel destination among tourists looking to explore the nature of Japan. It's said that the same pyroclastic flow from a huge eruption approximately 90,000 years ago, which created the Aso Caldera, created the unique features of Nabegataki Falls as well. Nabegataki Falls is a relatively small waterfall measuring 20 meters wide with a drop of about 10 meters, but the way the water cascades from the top of the waterfall creates a beautiful view that resembles a curtain of water. Another unique characteristic of Nabegataki Falls is how the surrounding greenery gives it a faint glow, making it popular amongst photographers and instagrammers alike. Photo:Nabigataki Falls illuminated, Aso, Kumamoto Furthermore, in the spring, Nabegataki Falls is lit up for a limited time, and visitors can enjoy fantastic views of the waterfall while it's illuminated. There are also stairs on the path leading to Nabegataki Falls, and heart-shaped stones are hidden in the stone pavement along the way, so be sure to keep an eye out for these as well. Enjoy Delicious Food, Sweets, and Sightseeing Spots Around Nabegataki Falls! In addition to Nabegataki Falls, there are a myriad of sightseeing spots around the area that visitors can enjoy. First, there's "Sora Iro no Tane," famously known as "the small bakery in the forest." The bread here is hot and fresh even in the cold, and the cream buns are popular for their hearty and satisfying texture. Next is a soba restaurant called "Waremokou" on the route to Nabegataki Falls. The restaurant is full of delicious dishes and features famous Kumamoto beef and soba. After enjoying the beautiful scenery of Nabegataki, visitors can enjoy beautiful paintings at the Sakamoto Zenzo Museum of Art, a museum covered entirely with tatami mats. Enjoy the abstract paintings of Zenzo Sakamoto a famous Japanese painter. Summary of Nabegataki Falls in Kumamoto Prefecture As you can see, Nabegataki Falls, located in Oguni, Aso, Kumamoto, is loved by many people as one of the most beautiful spots in Japan, and has now become very popular among young people, particularly instagrammers and photographers. Recommended Tourist Attractions in Rishirifuji Rishiri Island is located in the Sea of Japan in northern Hokkaido and has a population of around 2,200. The name "Rishiri" comes from the Ainu word "Riishiri," which means "Island with tall mountain(s)," a reference to Mt. Rishiri, located directly in the center of the island. Located approximately 52 kilometers west of the city of Wakkanai, the northernmost point of Japan, the island can be reached via ferry in roughly 1 hour and 40 minutes. During the summer months, June through August, when the island is busy as a tourist destination, the average temperature in Rishirifuji stays below 68°F. Because the temperature varies depending on the weather and time of day, it's recommended that you bring something you can easily throw on and take off, as it's cool and comfortable in the summer as well. Rishiri Island consists of two towns, Rishirifuji and Rishiri. This article will introduce selected tourist attractions and things to do in Rishirifuji. Otatomari Marsh, the Most Popular Tourist Attraction on Rishiri Island Photo:Otatomari Marsh, Rishiri Island, Hokkaido Located in the southeastern part of the island, Otatomari Marsh is the largest lake on Rishiri Island. You can see Otatomari Marsh, the most popular tourist attraction on Rishiri Island, starting at 21:54 in the video. Otatomari Marsh is located on the opposite side of the island from the port of Oshidomari, and can be reached via bus in approximately 35 minutes. If you visit Otatomari Marsh, we highly recommend a walk along the promenade. On the well-maintained 1-kilometer long, 30-minute walking trail, visitors can enjoy a spectacular view of Mt. Rishiri and the seasonal vegetation in the area. Moreover, if the weather and other conditions are right, you can even see Rishiri Fuji (Mt. Rishiri) reflected upside down on the surface of the lake. The beautiful blue surface of the lake, surrounded by a forest of Sakhalin spruces, is so beautiful that it's no wonder it's called the best tourist attraction on Rishiri Island. Rishiri Island is known as the area where cherry blossoms bloom the latest in Japan. On the Otatomari Marsh boardwalk, you can enjoy cherry blossom viewing in early June. Photo:Minamihama Marsh, Rishiri Island, Hokkaido Around Otatomari Marsh is the largest marshland on Rishiri Island, Numaura Marsh, which has been designated as a Natural Monument by the town of Rishirifuji. The marshland is called "Mikazukinuma" (lit. "Crescent Moon Marsh"), and is said to be a phantom swamp because it can only be seen for a couple months during the winter when there is snow on the ground. At the rest house in the parking lot of Otatomari Marsh, visitors can purchase snacks made from freshly caught seafood from Rishiri, such as scallops baked in butter and grilled whelks, as well as souvenirs like Rishiri Kombu, the high-quality dried seaweed of Rishiri. On the way to the promenade you'll find Memory Bridge (想い出橋) (video 18:17~), a suspension bridge spanning the Omobetsu River, which is surrounded by greenery and has a wonderful atmosphere. The murmur of the river below is therapeutic. The main attraction of Hime Marsh is the reflection of the upside-down Rishiri Fuji (another name for Mt. Rishiri) on the surface of the pond. From early- to mid-morning is the best time to see the upside-down Rishiri Fuji, as the surface is of the pond is still undisturbed by the sun and there are few waves caused by the wind. Hime Marsh is also a popular photo spot on Rishiri Island for capturing fantastic photos. Photo:Rishiri Fuji at Hime Marsh, Rishiri Island, Hokkaido Hime Marsh, with a circumference of approximately 800 meters (~2,600 ft) and a depth of 2 meters (6.5 ft), is said to be the remains of an explosion crater, and it looks as though the ground has been gouged out. Photo:Rishiri Yu-Yu Running marathon, Rishiri Island, Hokkaido Hiking on Mt. Rishiri – A Climbing Guide for Beginners and Advanced Climbers Photo:Rishiri Fuji (Mt. Rishiri), Rishiri Island, Hokkaido Mt. Rishiri, the northernmost of Japan's "100 Famous Japanese Mountains," stands at 1,721 meters (5,646 feet) above sea level in the center of Rishiri Island. Although its official name is Mt. Rishiri, it's often called Rishiri Fuji (not to be confused with the town Rishirifuji) for its beautifully conical silhouette reminiscent of Mt. Fuji. It's also known for its abundance of alpine flora, many of which are unique to this area. The Oshidomari Hiking Trail is a well-maintained trail, so beginners can hike up the mountain with relative ease. That being said, it's a 5-to-6-hour ascent and a 3-to-4-hour descent, making it an all-day affair, so it's recommended that those who are not confident in their stamina do not attempt the hike. The greatest attraction of this day-long climb up Mt. Rishiri is the view from the summit. Rishiri Island itself is a mountain, and the summit offers an amazing panoramic view of the island. The view can only be seen by those who reach the summit of Mt. Rishiri, but it's well worth the climb. Climbing Season: June to September Photo:Remaining snow on Rishiri Fuji (Mt. Rishiri) ・Early June The average temperature at the summit in early June is 6.4°C (43.5°F), and crampons may be required at the summit due to lingering snow ・Early July The average temperature at the summit in early July is 9°C to 12°C (48.2°F to 53.6°F); and crowds and congestion often occur during the peak of climbing tour season. ・Late August - Early September In late August and early September, the minimum temperature can drop below freezing, so be sure to bring cold weather gear. During the climbing season, it's warm with alpine plants in full bloom, and the carpet of flowers that spreads across the mountain has earned led to it being recognized as one of the best places to see mountain flowers in Japan. Mt. Rishiri Hiking Trails Mt. Rishiri is a popular climbing spot visited by about 10,000 climbers annually, and there are two hiking trails located on the mountain: the Oshidomari Hiking Trail and the Kutsugata Hiking Trail. It's recommended that you start with the Oshidomari Hiking Trail, which is appropriate for beginners and intermediate hikers. There was a third trail, the former Oniwaki Hiking Trail, but it has been closed due to hazards. Oshidomari Hiking Trail (Beginner - Intermediate Hiking Trail) The trailhead is about 60 minutes on foot from Oshidomari Port at Rishiri Hokuroku Campsite (利尻北麓野営場) where there is also a hiking trail for Mt. Pon (ポン山, Pon Yama). Since there are no buses running early in the morning, care must be taken when going to the trailhead. It's best to find a guest house that can provide transportation to the trailhead. At the 3rd station, you'll find Kanro Sensui (甘露泉水) (video 9:59), the only source of water on Mt. Rishiri, which has been selected as one of Japan's 100 Remarkable Waters. The water from Kanro Sensui, which is subsoil water from Mt. Rishiri, is characterized by its mild sweetness. It's an oasis for climbers of Mt. Rishiri to quench their thirst. From the 5th station, the trail continues gently uphill through the trees, but from the 6th station, the incline gradually increases. From the 9th station, the trail converges with the Kutsugata Hiking Trail, and the footholds on the way to the summit become worse, so ropes are placed at dangerous spots. Kutsugata Hiking Trail (Advanced Hiking Trail) The Kutsugata Hiking Trail is shorter than the Oshidomari Hiking Trail, but is more difficult due to its steeper incline and is therefore recommended for advanced climbers. The trailhead is located at the Mikaeridai Park, approximately 500 meters (1,640 ft) above sea level, and the trailhead is the 5th station. After the 8th station, the incline increases toward Mt. Sancho (三眺山), and the difficulty persists beyond this point. From the 9th station, the trail converges with the Oshidomari Hiking Trail. By having a veteran guide or a guide with expertise accompanying you, you can enjoy hiking with peace of mind while receiving advice on climbing etiquette and route selection, as well as an explanation of the alpine flora. Photo:Hikers on Rishiri Fuji (Mt. Rishiri) Because the weather on Mt. Rishiri can change abruptly, windproof and waterproof jackets, warm innerwear, and a hat/helmet to protect your head are a must. In addition, non-slip hiking shoes are recommended for a safe ascent. The huts on Mt. Rishiri were built as refuge huts and are not lodging facilities, so they cannot be used for overnight stays and can only be used for napping or in the case of an emergency. As the number of climbers increases year after year, the alpine flora has been damaged by ill-mannered climbers who walk outside of the designated trails, trampling the alpine flora and reducing the size of the colonies. Trails near the summit are so bare that they crumble at the touch of a finger. Because of this, rules have been established on Mt. Rishiri to ensure that each and every climber behaves in a manner that is respectful of the natural environment. Mt. Rishiri Climbing Rules 1. Use portable toilets 2. Use rubber tips on hiking poles (to prevent damage to vegetation) 3. Do not sit or step on the vegetation Please follow these rules and enjoy a safe and enjoyable climb up Mt. Rishiri. The Best Foods on Rishiri Island The Mouthwatering Sea Urchin of Rishiri Island Photo:Rishiri Island sea urchin, Hokkaido Rishiri Island is known not only for its tourist attractions and spectacular natural scenery, but also for its mouthwatering seafood. The smooth texture and unique flavor of the locally caught sea urchin is to die for! It's a treat for any foody traveling to Japan! Sea urchin caught locally in Rishirifuji is one of the most highly regarded gastronomic delicacies in all of Japan thanks to the depth of its flavor. Its sweet and rich flavor are truly unforgettable. After you've tried it, you'll be craving a second helping. What makes the sea urchin of Rishiri Island so exquisite you ask? The reason for this is that the waters around Rishiri Island are rich in nutrients caused by the collision of warm and cold currents. In addition, the sea urchins grow on high-grade Rishiri Kombu kelp, which is rich in nutrients from the undersea spring water flowing from Mt. Rishiri. Approximately 40% of all domestic sea urchins in Japan are caught in Hokkaido. Rishiri Island is home to two species of sea urchin, called "nona" and "ganze," and sea urchin fishing is regulated to maintain the population. Photo:Left: ganze sea urchin, Right: nona sea urchin The opening of the season for the sea urchins differs, with the opening of the season for ganze sea urchins being June 1 and the opening of the season for nona sea urchins being on June 10. Both are in season until the end of August and have a mellow flavor. Nona sea urchins have short spines on the outside and are dark orange inside. They are much rarer and more valuable than ganze sea urchins because of their rich and delicious flavor and sweetness. On the other hand, the ganze sea urchin has long, purplish spines, is larger than the nona sea urchin, and is characterized by its elegant sweetness. Photo:Ganze and nona sea urchin bowl In Rishirifuji, you can enjoy sea urchin bowls with either one of the two types of sea urchin, or a combined seafood bowl where you can compare their flavor. Sea urchin is made with the food additive "alum" (ミョウバン, "myouban" in Japanese) to keep it clean longer, but it causes bitterness and spoils the original taste of the sea urchin. Therefore, please try to find sea urchin that does not contain alum. From 26:51 in the video, you can see the woman traveling to Rishiri Island eating two kinds of fresh sea urchin. Photo:Rishirifuji Sea Urchin Festival, Rishiri Island, Hokkaido Rishirifuji also hosts an annual event in which the sea urchin plays a leading role. The Rishirifuji Sea Urchin Festival (うにうにフェスティバル) is held every year on August 11 at the Rishirifuji Community Center parking lot. Photo:Grilled nona sea urchin, Rishiri Island, Hokkaido At the food and beverage corner, you can find grilled sea urchin, sea urchin bowls, sea urchin soup, and fresh scallops and octopus caught in Rishiri. The Sea Urchin Cracking Contest (ウニむき大会) for elementary school students and the Sea Urchin Speed-eating Contest (ウニの早食い大会) are just a few of the local events that make for a day full of sea urchin fun. Kamui Kaigan Park also organizes a sea urchin fishing experience (video 24:30). You can crack open the sea urchin you've caught yourself and enjoy them as fresh as they come! For those residing in Japan, Rishiri Island's sea urchin is also a Furusato Nozei (Hometown Tax) tax return gift, so you can enjoy fresh sea urchin from Rishiri Island anywhere in Japan by utilizing this system. Iheya Island - A Tropical Travel Destination in Okinawa!
Local PR Travel Nature- 293 plays

This Introductory Video of Iheya Island, Okinawa, Shows the Incredibly Beautiful, Dreamlike Scenery of the Island This introductory video, "The Mystic 'Iheya Island'" (神秘の島「伊平屋島」) was produced by the Iheya Island Tourist Association using aerial drone footage. You'll see the incredibly beautiful scenery of the isolated Iheya Island, in Okinawa. Iheya Island is a remote island with breathtakingly clear, pristine waters and nature. It is even famous in Okinawa, one of Japan's most popular tourist resorts. In this article, you'll find recommendations for places to see and things to do around Iheya Island, Okinawa. The video shows aerial photos of the emerald green coral reefs and the natural mountains of Iheya Island in Okinawa. You'll be astonished watching the video and realizing that such beauty exists in Japan. All About Iheya Island, Okinawa Photo:Iheya Island's sandy beach and sea Iheya Island is located 117 km north of Naha on the main island of Okinawa, a part of Japan's southwestern archipelago. It is also north of the main island of Okinawa, 41.1 km from Nakijinson Kamiunten harbor, a ferry depot in the northernmost inhabited island of Okinawa. At southern end of Iheya Island, there is Izena Island. Iheya Island is a mysterious island where the original landscape of Okinawa has been preserved, and many legends and gods continue to live on. Iheya Island (Area: 20.66km2 Perimeter: 34.23km) is a long, thin island connected to Noho Island (Area: 1.06km2 Perimeter: 4.8km) by the Noho bridge and as of July, 2009, has a population of 1,405. To get to Iheya Island, you can take a bus or car from Naha Airport on the main island of Okinawa to Unten Port in Nakijin Village where the ferry dock is located. An 80-minute ride on the ferry takes you to Iheya Island. As there are only two ferry services a day, and a day trip is difficult, we recommend spending at least one night on Iheya Island. Local transportation is either rental cars, taxis, the island's community bus, or rental bicycles, as well as the ferry that takes you to Iheya Island. It's also possible to bring your own car onto the ferry as well. If the weather is good, we recommend renting a bicycle to see the island and enjoy the natural scenery. Touristic Information to Enjoy Iheya's Beautiful Emerald Green Sea Photo:Sea turtle The brilliant emerald-green sea shown in the video is so beautiful that you might feel like you're dreaming. The sea is transparent up to 50 meters and the view of a small boat casting its shadow on the seafloor is fantastic. You can see this amazing scenery from 1:12 in the video. The sea of Iheya Island is comparably beautiful to that of popular Yaeyama Island and Miyako Island. In these beautiful waters, you can enjoy coral reefs, marine life, snorkeling, diving, sea kayaking and other marine sports, as well as fishing to your heart's content. The beaches which are worth visiting on Iheya Island are ‘Kumaya beach’ for fishing, and ‘Suga-hama’ and ‘Yonesaki-kaigan’ for enjoying beautiful scenery. Because there are only two ferries a day and no large tourist facilities, there are very few tourists in Okinawa, so you can enjoy the sea to your heart's content, as it is a lesser-known beach in Okinawa. White sandy beaches with endless blue skies and seas await you. Enjoy the Sights and Sounds of Iheya Island Photo:Hiramatsu Starting at 1:31 in the video, the sights of Iheya Island, with its unspoiled nature and culture, are introduced. One of the must-see spots is “Kumaya Cave” which is said to be the southernmost place related to a legend about Amaterasu Omikami. Japan has a lot of places where the “Amano Iwato legend” allegedly took place. The natural light that floods the cave is so magical and Instagram-worthy. It's also a popular power spot not to be missed when visiting Iheya Island. At 1:46 in the video, “Nento hiramatsu” is also a popular touristic spot on Iheya Island and visitors will be overwhelmed when they see the branches of the “Ryukyu matsu” looming over them. We also recommend visiting the Iheya Lighthouse from which you can overlook the whole of Iheya Island. This can be seen in the video from 1:51. You can enjoy a spectacular view of nature with 200-meter-high mountains and blue waters. There are also plenty of other places with beautiful scenery as well. From 1:58 on the video, “Yahe Rock” is a historical place and said to be the ruins of an old castle that protected the island from the Nakijin army. The sunset seen through the rocky mountains quite the spectacle as well. If you're looking for something good to eat, be sure to try the fresh seafood dishes on Iheya Island. As it's surrounded by the sea, it has some of the freshest seafood you can get! After a day of fishing, a seaside BBQ with the fish you caught will make for an unforgettable experience. Mozuku seaweed and local sea salt from Iheya Island make for great souvenirs as well. Other Tourist Attractions at Iheya Island There are even more tourist destinations on Iheya Island that weren't shown in the video! “Kuba mountain at Tana”, “Tiger head Rock”, “Yagurabaka”, “Iheya History and Folklore Museum” and “Kami asagi” are also places we recommend visiting. If you prefer joining activities or events, "Iheya Village Trail," "Iheya Moonlight marathon," "Iheya Festival," "Iheya Scarecrow Festival," and “Iheya New Year Trim Marathon” are some things that might interest you. Of course, there are also hotels and inns on Iheya Island, so you can stay overnight for sightseeing. Wrap-Up Photo: Iheya Island from a plane The video, "The Mystic 'Iheya Island'" (神秘の島「伊平屋島」), introduces the beautiful, clear sea and the splendid natural scenery of Iheya Island, one of Japan’s remote islands. Sometimes the waves are so calm, and you can see the seafloor so clearly, that it's as if there's no water at all. Be sure to check this out in the video! In this article, we introduced you to Iheya Island's attractions, marine activities, and food, as well as how to access it. There are also agriculture and fishing experiences, as well as home-stay accommodations where you can interact with the islanders and experience Japan's original landscape and nature. Take a trip to the remote Iheya Island, forget about your troubles, and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. 【Tripadvisor】Iheya Island https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g1121620-d1373491-Reviews-Iheyajima_Island-Iheya_son_Shimajiri_gun_Okinawa_Prefecture.html -

Uenohara Tourism Promotional Video This video is a promotional video on Uenohara, titled "Uenohara - It's Closer Than You Think! Guy's Trip" (実は近いぞ上野原。男たちのアクティビティー編), produced by the Uenohara Tourism Board, in which the destination is explored by three young male travelers. Located on the extreme eastern edge of Yamanashi Prefecture, Uenohara has an estimated population of 23,160 (July 2019). It is also known as the location for the Teikyo University of Science. The video portrays the three young men enjoying the diverse tourist experiences in Uenohara while highlighting the beautiful natural environment. The natural beauty of Uenohara is sure to get you fired up for a journey into the wilderness. And why not go? It's only an hour from Tokyo. Uenohara Is a Great Place to Visit! Does Uenohara sound familiar to you? Probably not unfortunately... Too bad... because Uenohara is such a great destination! The three travelers in the video seem to be having a really great time in Uenohara. This article is to give more detailed information about the places in Uenohara that appear in the video, so be sure to follow along. Source :YouTube screenshot First up, we have Mt. Yaeyama which can be seen at 0:12 in the video. Mt. Yaeyama is easily accessible by car (15mins from Chu-o Ko-soku National Highway, Uenohara IC) and there are parking lots at the foot of the mountain. The recommended activity in Yaeyama is hiking. A 20-minute hiking trail leads to an observation deck where you can even see Mt. Fuji, when the weather is nice. Then they visit Fudo no Taki (a waterfall) from 0:44. Being showered with negative ions, you may get the chance to encounter wild animals. After being immersed in Mother Nature, the travelers go to have lunch at the local market, Yuzurihara Furusato Cho-jukan. "Cho-ju" means longevity in Japanese, and Yuzurihara is known as a village whose residents have a long lifespan. You can try their "healthy diets" in the restaurant that supports their longevity, with meals such as homemade Tofu, Miso, Yuba, etc. Liked Even by Hollywood Stars?! "Seida no Tamaji," a traditional local dish with small potatoes boiled in Miso, is introduced from 1:16. Uenohara's Mascot character "Tamaji-maru" represents this popular local dish. Source :YouTube screenshot Satisfied With Lunch? Time for a Swim! The travelers try fishing at local campground at 1:27 (The campsites in Japan are often more like a forest park offering outdoor activities). Surrounded by vast landscapes, Uenohara features many campsites. Catching and cooking fresh trout on the grill is a great way to spend the day and enjoy the fruits of your labor. After a good time fishing, they head to "Nagai Saka Manju store" from 1:57, which sells a famous speciality of Uenohara- Saka Manju (Manju is a bun filled with sweet bean paste). Saka Manju, although pronounced Saka, actually comes from the word "Sake" a type of Japanese alcohol. It is a type of Manju where "Koji" is used to produce fermentation in the dough, which gives it a unique taste and smell. There are a variety of flavor filled options you can choose from, such as miso, salt, or takana (pickled mustard leaf). After getting their fill of outdoor activities, the travelers bathe in the hot springs to relieve the wearies of their travels. The sauna at the day visit spa, Akiyama Onsen, appearing from 2:17, is a steam sauna where you can work up a nice sweat. It also has a swimming pool to cool down afterwards. The quality of the hot spring is high carbon dioxide gas alkaline. Akiyama Onsen is easily accessible from the JR Uenohara Station. A pickup shuttle bus is also available. You can stay overnight in Akiyama Onsen as well, as there are plenty of hotels in the area. It's time to wrap up the trip -- The three travelers enjoy taking a nice open-air bath. Wi-Fi in Japan: Video Introduction This video, titled "Should I Get a Pocket Wi-Fi in Japan? - JAPAN and more," was uploaded by "Japan and More." 今回こんかいは、『Japan and More』さん制作せいさくの『Should I Get a Pocket Wi-Fiわぃふぁい in Japan? Wi-Fi Availability in Japan 日本にほんのWi-Fiわぃふぁい事情じじょう Photo:Free Wi-Fi(写真しゃしん:Free Wi-Fiわぃふぁい) One of the most important things to consider when traveling is internet access. Being able to access the internet will allow you to find what you're looking for, get help if trouble arises, and save you time while traveling. While almost all hotels in Japan are going to have Wi-Fi, once you leave the hotel to do some sightseeing, you're going to have to find public Wi-Fi or be left with no internet. In recent years, public Wi-Fi has become increasingly accessible, and many train stations and cafes now offer publicly accessible Wi-Fi. That being said, most of these Wi-Fi networks require you to register to use them. This can be troublesome as you'll have to register to use a Wi-Fi each time you find a new one, and if you leave that location, you also lose your Wi-Fi connection. To avoid these problems, we recommend getting your own Wi-Fi plan. [Video] 0:39 - Wi-Fi Availability in Japan 【動画どうが】0:39~ 日本にほんのWi-Fiわぃふぁいの事情じじょう Pocket Wi-Fi, SIM Cards, & Wi-Fi Apps in Japan 日本にほんで利用りようするポケットWi-Fiわぃふぁい、SIMカード、Wi-Fiわぃふぁいアプリ Photo:Pocket Wi-Fi(写真しゃしん:ポケットWi-Fiわぃふぁい) There are 3 main ways to get Wi-Fi when traveling in Japan: pocket Wi-Fi, SIM cards, and Wi-Fi apps. Pocket Wi-Fi refers to small mobile routers that can quite literally fit in your pocket. They can be rented online from a variety of companies. [Video] 3:22 - What is Pocket Wi-Fi? Photo:People with smartphones(写真しゃしん:スマホを持もつ人ひとたち) Now that we've gone over the 3 main ways to get Wi-Fi in Japan, let's talk about how you choose what's best for you. There are a number of things to keep in mind when choosing what kind of Wi-Fi to use: Wi-Fiわぃふぁいを選えらぶときには、いくつかの注意点ちゅういてんがあります。 [SIM Unlocked] 【SIMフリー】 If you're thinking about getting a SIM card, the first thing to do is make sure that your phone is SIM unlocked. If you purchase a SIM card without doing this, you run the risk of paying for something you can't use. Furthermore, if it takes a while to purchase Wi-Fi, you'll have less time to enjoy traveling. [Number of people] 【人数にんずう】 The next thing to keep in mind is how many people you're traveling with. Most pocket Wi-Fi devices allow upwards of 10 people to connect to them at a time. If you're traveling with a group of people, we recommend pocket Wi-Fi, as it will help save money. Another thing to consider is how long you'll be staying in Japan. If you're only going to be staying in Japan for a week or two, then carrying around a pocket Wi-Fi device probably won't be too much of a hassle. That being said, if you're going to be staying any longer than that, you might be better off getting a SIM card so you don't have to keep a pocket Wi-Fi device with you at all times. This also removes the risk of accidentally losing your pocket Wi-Fi device, giving you peace of mind. The last thing to keep in mind obviously is budget. SIM cards tend to be a bit more expensive than pocket Wi-Fi because of their ease-of-use. If you value ease-of-use and don't want to worry about the potential costs of having to pay for a lose pocket Wi-Fi device, then a SIM card could be your best option. Summary of Wi-Fi for Traveling in Japan 日本旅行にほんりょこうで使つかえるWi-Fiわぃふぁいまとめ nd that was our introduction to pocket Wi-Fi, SIM cards, and Wi-Fi apps, the 3 main ways of getting Wi-Fi in Japan. Our recommendation is to use a combination of both apps and pocket Wi-Fi or SIM cards. If you know you're going to be in one place for a while, you can use the apps to connect to a publicly available Wi-Fi network to save data on your pocket Wi-Fi or SIM card. Also, be sure to disconnect from your pocket Wi-Fi when you reach your hotel or whatever accommodation you may be staying at, and make sure to connect to the Wi-Fi network that they provide. That concludes our guide to Wi-Fi in Japan in 2023. We hope this guide can come in handy if you're considering traveling in Japan! h2 ruby { font-weight: bold; } .mod-article-caption .caption-heading { font-size: 2.4rem !important; } .caption-text { font-size: 2rem !important; } -

The Beautiful Snowscapes of Japan This video, titled "4K Beautiful snow scene in Japan 日本の雪景色 TOP14名所 winter scenery snowscapes snow light tourism trip," was produced by Discover Nippon. Japan is a country where you can enjoy the nature of all four seasons. The Japanese archipelago has a unique vertical topography, which means that in winter, the temperature in Hokkaido, located in the north of the country, can drop below 10 degrees Celsius, while in the subtropical region of Okinawa, it's possible to wear a t-shirt year round. In this article, we'll introduce you to some of the most beautiful snowscapes of winter in Japan alongside a beautiful 4K video! Sightseeing in Tokyo on a Snowy Day When people think of snow in Japan, they generally think of the snowy landscapes of Tohoku and Hokkaido; however, several times a year, snow falls in the capital city of Tokyo as well. The snow brings the city to a halt, making the Imperial Palace and Sensoji Temple, with its low traffic (both human and vehicle), a tasteful, hidden tourist destination. Tokyo's snowy scenery, which can only be seen once or twice a year, is a rare sight. However, transportation is tremendously impeded, so please be cautious when collecting information on traffic and weather forecasts. Places to See Japan's Representative Snowscapes If you're looking for beautiful snowscapes in Japan, then we've got just the list for you: ・Akita Prefecture:Igloos ・Gifu Prefecture:Shirakawa, The Northern Alps ・Hokkaido:Otaru Canal, Sapporo Snow Festival ・Yamagata Prefecture:Ginzan Onsen, The Ice Trees of Zao ・Ishikawa Prefecture:Kenroku-en covered in snow Even if you're not in the Tohoku region, you can still enjoy the spectacular snowscapes of the mountains, and even in the Tohoku region, there's not so much snow on the Pacific side. We recommend the hot springs in the mountains and onsen areas on the Sea of Japan side. Active Snowfall Scenery and Sights to Enjoy There are also plenty of places to enjoy winter sports in Japan. Japan is a popular destination for winter sports, having hosted two Winter Olympics to date. Many of the ski resorts where you can snowboard are located near hot spring resorts, so you can relax after a long day of skiing/snowboarding with delicious food and hot springs. If You're Traveling the Snowscapes of Japan, Hot Spring Tourism Is the Way to Go! Here's a list of hot spring resorts with snowy landscapes and winter sports: ・Nagano Prefecture has a great view of the Northern Alps and popular hot springs and ski resorts such as Hakuba. ・Niigata Prefecture is famous for its snow, hot springs and delicious seafood. ・Hokkaido is a paradise of hot springs, where many foreign tourists come to enjoy the large scale resort hotels with ski slopes. After skiing and snowboarding, you can replenish your stamina with Ghengis Khan (Jingisukan), a Japanese lamb dish. ・After skiing, you can enjoy playing in the snow in an igloo and relaxing in hot springs in Akita Prefecture. Kiritanpo hot pot is the specialty in this area! All of these are great places to visit, so find which one suits you best! Hokkaido and Nagano Prefecture are the host cities of the Winter Olympics, so it's safe to say that they're the Meccas of winter sports in Japan. Sightseeing at Temples and Shrines Where You Can Enjoy the Majestic Snowy Scenery Here are some temples and shrines we recommend checking out: ・Yamadera (Yamagata Prefecture): Yamadera, also known in children's songs, is a famous temple located in Yamagata Prefecture. ・Chuson-ji Temple (Iwate Prefecture): Chuson-ji is a World Heritage Site! The beauty of Konjikido with a snowy landscape is unbeatable. ・Iwakiyama Shrine (Aomori Prefecture): Iwakiyama Shrine, located on Mt. Iwaki, which is often mentioned in songs, is an Important Cultural Property of Japan and is the setting for Sansho the Bailiff. ・Towada Shrine (Aomori, Japan): A historical shrine with a lake with a beautiful emerald green surface. The contrast between the snowy winter landscape and the lake is like a beautiful painting. Summary of the Snowscapes of Japan Winters in snowy countries can be hard in terms of climate, but the beautiful, ink-painting-like world created by the snow that covers Japan's beautiful natural landscape is well worth seeing. Enjoy Japan's snowy landscape in the beautiful 4K video.
