This is the scenery of Hachimantai in Iwate Prefecture. Hachimantai is a 1,614 m high mountain and surrounding plateau that straddles Akita and Iwate prefectures. It is included in Hisaya Fukada's Japan 100 Famous Mountains, and this mountain area is designated as Towada-Hachimantai National Park. I photographed the idyllic scenery of Hachimantai, which is about to enter autumn, and a very rare rainbow.
