What is the Hinamatsuri (doll festival) of the month delay?
In ancient times, the lunisolar calendar (old calendar) was used in Japan, and the Hinamatsuri (doll festival) on March 3 was held in April of the current Gregorian calendar (new calendar). Even now, in snowy areas and farming villages, the custom of celebrating the Hinamatsuri (doll festival) on the lunar calendar when it has become warmer remains strong.
