■■■What is the Ontake-ryu Kagura Tournament?
The "Ontake Kagura" transmitted to "Kiyokawa" is said to be a kagura that occurred in 1449 at the same time as the founding of Ontake Shrine.
Kagura, which has been passed down for a long time and follows this stream, has been transmitted to Ono, Naoiri, the southern part of the prefecture, and as far away as the Aso region. In 2007 (Heisei 19), it was designated as an "Important Intangible Folk Cultural Asset" of the country.
The local culture of "Kagura" born from such a "Kiyokawa" climate has been reviewed once again, and the "Ontake-ryu Kagura Festival" has been held in since 1988 (Showa 63) with the aim of revitalizing the region through Kagura.
