The rice is bottled, so customers can purchase it as if they were selecting a bottle of wine, all while enjoying the fashionable atmosphere of the store. Alongside KOME-SHIN is SAKEICE Tokyo Shop, where patrons can enjoy sake ice cream. The ice cream sold at this store is mixed with sake, giving it a high alcohol content. Because of this, minors and patrons coming by car are advised to keep this in mind. Of course, non-alcoholic versions are also available. Currently, Yanmar is holding a campaign in which participants who follow Yanmar's official Twitter account and retweet campaign posts will be entered into a drawing to win a NIPLUX NECK RELAX, a neck stiffness relief product. Up to 10 people will win prizes. The campaign is currently underway, so be sure to join in! Yanmar Tokyo Summary Photo:Yanmar Tokyo Yanmar Tokyo is a hub where Yanmar, which has been involved in agriculture for many years through its efforts to reduce environmental impact and create an appealing food culture, communicates the joy of continuing to take on new challenges. Introduction of sightseeing video of “Kyoto Railway Museum” in Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture This video, titled "Things to Do: Kyoto Railway Museum [4K]," is an introduction to the Kyoto Railway Museum located in Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture in Japan's Kansai region. It is produced by Discover Kyoto. You can feel the history and tradition of Japanese railways at the Kyoto Railway Museum. It houses valuable train cars and is also one of the biggest railway museums in Japan. With beautiful 4K images, you can watch popular train cars from both the past and present. Experience the excitement you once felt as a child when you first saw a train, with this video. Various Experiences at the Kyoto Railway Museum Source :YouTube screenshot The main attraction of the museum is that you can experience riding a train car that is led by a real steam locomotive, the SL Steam. There are limited opportunities to ride a steam locomotive in Japan, so it'll definitely be an experience to remember. You can see the steam locomotives at the start of the video. After a day's work, the cinders are removed, and new coals and water are loaded. This process is referred to as feeding water to the boiler. Watching the steam locomotive dynamically change direction is a sight to behold. You can see your favorite cars up close and personal as they're displayed in the vehicle factory. You can train yourself as a train driver with the driving simulator in the new building which was reopened in 2018 (1:27) You can try operating a bullet train, too! In addition, there is a corner where visitors can try out the ATS/ATC experience, a train safety system that uses a camera mounted on a model train, a CTC display, a centralized vehicle management system, and there's also a track cycle experience as well. The railway diorama quite elaborate; diorama shows are performed by specialized operators with pictures, lights, and announcements. It is just like you are watching a live feed. You can actually purchase a train ticket and put it through a transparent automatic ticket gate, and learn about the structure of the gate. It's a Great Place for Kids! Source :YouTube screenshot The museum is well suited for kids as well. They can enjoy a spacious playground and a large W7 series model; they can spend the whole day there without getting bored. The video shows the kids’ park around 1:52. It's also unique in that there are a number of facilities where you can actually touch and learn about how railways work, such as, through the reproduction of a station. You can see reproductions of stations from the start of Showa Era (circa 1926) to the present. There also are sections where you can learn about the structure of a coupler, signals, blocks, and coordinating points. The Sky Terrace is on the third floor; you can see trains and bullet trains from the rooftop. You can take pictures of JR trains with cherry blossoms in the spring that go through Umekoji Park (2:00). The Facilities and Train Car Displays Source :YouTube screenshot There are various facilities at the museum. The Library, Special Exhibition Room, Life and the Railway, the Promenade, Twilight Plaza, Steam Locomotive No. 2 Service Shed, Roundhouse Platform, The Former Nijo Station House, Job Station, History Station, and Future Station are not to be missed. Among the fifty-three displayed train cars, there is the SL Steam, Bullet train, Sleeper Express Train, Bonnet-type Express Train (one of the National Railway’s major trains), Heavy Capacity Flatcars, Container Express trains, Diesel locomotives, and Diesel Cars. Access to the Museum The Kyoto Railway Museum is easily accessible from Umekoji-Kyotonishi Station which was opened in March 2019. There is no parking lot available, so you should park your car at nearby metered-parking. If you ride a bus to the museum, you can buy a one-day ticket with 10% off. You can also get a great deal if you buy a ticket for Kyoto Railway Museum and Kyoto Aquarium as a set. An advance ticket is very convenient as you can avoid waiting in a line. Restaurants at the Museum There is a restaurant in the museum where you can have lunch looking out big windows at bullet trains. A boxed lunch and kids’ lunch are also available in the dining car of a blue train, which is known as a moving hotel. Umekoji Park Café in Kyoto Umekoji Park is only a minute away on foot from the museum. It is a very popular place to eat, too. Recommended Souvenirs Getting souvenirs is one of the greatest experiences when visiting Japan. Otabe, which is famous for Nama Yatsuhashi, a Japanese-style confectionery, and Fugetsudo, a long-established confectioner, collaborated with the museum to produce a souvenir whose package features a train. It is a very well-received souvenir. Visit Kyoto Railway Museum Photo:Kyoto Railway Museum The museum collaborated with a popular Japanese toy called Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion in 2019, and a stamp collecting event was also held at the museum. After watching the video, you must be itching to visit the museum. Be sure to check out the video if you haven't yet. The fascinating craftsmanship of these traditional artisans is a sight to behold. Be sure to follow along with the video as you read this article. The History of Marugame Uchiwa Fans Source :YouTube screenshot Marugame uchiwa fans are a craft that have been produced in Marugame, Kagawa prefecture, also known as Sanuki, since the Edo period. Kagawa prefecture is promoted as the "Udon prefecture" by both the prefecture and the tourism association, with the local specialty being Sanuki Udon. Marugame uchiwa fans were invented by the chief priest of Konpira Shrine in the Edo period (1603 to 1868) as an affordable souvenir for visitors. It was made of inexpensive materials, was lightweight, and came in a variety of designs, making it the perfect regional specialty. It uses Washi which is strong, yet light, and other traditional Japanese materials that are easy to process, such as bamboo. The Marugame uchiwa fans of today refer to the Otokodake-Hirae design (男竹平柄) which was first created in Meiji era. (1868 to 1912) Long-jointed Otokodake is used as the material for the skeleton of the fan, but round Otokodake was used in the original fans. During the Tenmei era(1781 to 1789), when the Marugame clan warriors were making fans as a manual occupation, Onnadake-Marue(女竹丸柄) became mainstream, and in the Meiji era, the "Otokodake-Hirae" became more common as it was considered a simpler technique. The process of creating Marugame uchiwa fans is shown in detail from 0:16 in the video. Please enjoy the techniques of these Japanese artisans. Uchiwa no Minato Museum is located in Marugame, Kagawa prefecture, and is operated by the Kagawa Prefecture Fan Cooperative Association. It displays different kinds of Japanese fans such as Shibu Uchiwa (渋うちわ, Shibu-Uchiwa) and Ikkanbari, introduces the production process, and sells them as well. There's also a workshop where you can experience Japanese culture by creating an original and unique Japanese fan for yourself. Diving on Minna Island: Video Introduction This video, titled "Diving School Kaitei Shounen|Okinawa|Minna Island Tour" (ダイビングスクール海底少年 沖縄 水納島ツアー), was uploaded by "Diving & Snowboarding KAITEISHOUNEN" (ダイビング&スノーボードKAITEISHOUNEN). It introduces diving at Minna Island, a remote island in the northern part of Okinawa's main island. Be sure to check out the underwater footage of the beautiful, clear waters of Minna Island before reading on. About Minna Island Photo:Minna Island, Okinawa Minna Island is located in the northern part of Okinawa's main island. To get there, you'll have to take the high-speed boat "New Wing Minna" from Toguchi Port, which takes about 15 minutes. The island was uninhabited in the past, but is now a small island with a population of about 50 people. Minna Island is also called "Croissant Island" because it's shaped like a croissant when viewed from above. Surrounded by crystal clear waters and coral reefs, the island attracts as many as 60,000 tourists a year. Minna Island is one of the most popular tourist destinations on the main island of Okinawa, where visitors can enjoy scuba diving, as well as snorkeling, banana boating, and other activities. Diving Spots on Minna Island Photo:The waters of Okinawa One of the most attractive features of Minna Island is its crystal-clear waters! There are days when the water level exceeds 40 meters. Scuba diving is the best way to enjoy the beautiful underwater world of Minna Island. There are many diving spots on Minna Island as well. The most famous diving spots are: Todaishita, Yellow Fish Rock, Wasawasa, Popeye, Olive, Cable, Yosuji no Ne, and Portside. The dive sites offer many beautiful coral formations and colorful tropical fish that can only be seen there, as well as schools of lionfish and snappers. Snorkeling Spots on Minna Island Additionally, scuba diving on Minna Island is very popular among snorkelers, as large, colorful fish can be seen everywhere without having to go to these dive sites. Here are some recommended snorkeling spots. ・Minna Beach ・Kamomeiwa Beach ・Todaishita Beach ・Konan Beach ・Nishi no Hama Beach Tons of Fun on Minna Island Beach Photo:Minna Island Beach Scuba diving is just one of the many ways to enjoy Minna Island. At Minna Beach, you can enjoy swimming, marine sports, and a variety of other activities! Activities include snorkeling in the Blue Cave, banana boating, water skiing, parasailing, and more. One-day tours that include these activities are very popular. If you sign up for a tour, you can enjoy the activities without having to bring any of your own equipment. There are also guesthouses and other lodging facilities on Minna Island. After the day-trippers have gone home, you can enjoy the quiet atmosphere of the remote island. Do You Need a Certification/License to Dive at Minna Island Photo:Minna Island, Okinawa Many divers enjoy scuba diving in the beautiful waters of Minna Island. Diving that tourists can also enjoy is called experience diving. In general, a certification (license) is required to scuba dive. However, for diving tours held at tourist spots, such as experience diving, you'll be taught basic diving techniques, how to breathe, and pressure equalization by an instructor in advance. An instructor will also be with you during the dive, so you can dive even without a license. Other types of scuba diving include commercial diving for underwater civil engineering and undersea bottom surveys (for occupational diving, air-powered diving is the most common method) and technical diving, which is enjoyed as an "extreme sport" by experienced and certified divers. Free diving, which does not use any equipment like scuba diving, is also well known as an "extreme sport," similar to technical diving. If you want to explore the beautiful waters of Minna Island and other islands to the fullest, consider getting a diving license. Once you have a license, you can enjoy diving freely within the limits of safety with a buddy, and without the need for an instructor. Summary of Minna Island Minna Island is a beautiful island surrounded by beautiful blue waters and coral reefs, and is one of the best diving spots on mainland Okinawa. Furthermore, it's a sightseeing spot where you can enjoy not only scuba diving, but a variety of other marine sports as well. Regardless of your age or gender, you can experience an unforgettable trip of a lifetime on this beautiful island in Okinawa.
