Introducing Kongobuji Temple on the Mystical Koyasan This video, titled "Kongobuji Temple - Wakayama - 金剛峯寺 - 4K Ultra HD," was created by "TokyoStreetView - Japan The Beautiful." The video shows the famous spiritual area, Kongobuji Temple. During the Heian period (794-1185), the monk Kobo Daishi (Kukai) founded a religious city on Koyasan (Mt. Koya) in Wakayama Prefecture. Kongobuji Temple, located in the city, is the head temple of the Shingon Buddhism sect, and has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site under Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range. You can learn more about the temple through this video. The History of Kongobuji Temple Photo:Koyasan Kongobuji Temple From 0:15 in the video, you can see a stunning view of the temple bathed in autumn foliage. A view like this can hardly be done justice even in 4K resolution. The history of Kongobuji Temple goes all the way back to the year 835 during the Heian period, when the monk Kukai first entered Koyasan. After working hard to study Buddhism and receiving the posthumous name of "Kobo Daishi," he founded Kongobuji Temple on the mountain. Gradually, the area developed into a religious city. Visiting the temple now, you can view the Main Hall, as well as the main shrine housing the principal deity. Banryu Garden (蟠龍庭, banryu-tei), shown from 2:45 in the video, was created using beautifully shaped granite from the Shikoku region of Japan. This is one of the largest rock gardens in Japan. In addition, you can view the fusama paintings of the Nihonga painter Hiroshi Senju, and even get a shuin stamp in their likeness. Other Attractions on Koyasan Photo:Kongobuji Temple's Kondo Hall, Wakayama Prefecture Besides Kongobuji Temple, there are many other Buddhist temples and pagodas, such as the Konpon Daito Pagoda (根本大塔). Incidentally, the name "Head Temple Kongobuji Temple" refers to the entirety of Koyasan. The Main Hall of Mount Koya is known as "Kondo Hall" (金堂, lit. Golden Hall). There are also smaller temples scattered around the mountain, known as "Tachu" (塔頭). If you stay overnight in the temple lodgings, you'll be able to try some Buddhist vegetarian cuisine, known as shojin ryori (精進料理), experience morning prayer rituals, and take your time visiting the numerous Buddhist statues on the mountain. The admission fee for Kongobuji Temple is ¥1000 for junior high school students and above, and ¥300 for elementary school students. You can also purchase a set ticket for all the main areas on the mountain, namely Kongobuji Temple, Kondo Hall, Konpon Daito Pagoda, and the Tokugawa Clan Mausoleum. Access to Koyasan Photo:A cable car at Koyasan, Wakayama Prefecture By train, the most convenient route is to take the Nankai-Koya Line (南海高野線, nankai koya sen) from Namba Station (難波駅, nanba-eki) in Osaka to Gokurakuji Station (極楽寺駅, gokurakuji-eki). From there, take the cable car to Mount Koya. By car, the mountain is accessible via the highway. Parking is available at Koyasan, but due to the high possibility of crowds during holiday seasons, it's generally more convenient to use public transportation. Summary of Kongobuji Temple Photo:Danjo Temple Koyasan in Wakayama Prefecture is not only a World Heritage Site but also a world-famous tourist destination. After watching the video of Koyasan, don't you feel the urge to visit and see the sights in person? By the way, Koyasan is 800m above sea level, leading to cool temperatures in the evening even during summer. Because of this, we recommend wearing warmer clothing when visiting the mountain. 【Official Website】Koyasan Shingon Sect Kongobuji Temple https://www.koyasan.or.jp/en/ 【Tripadvisor】Kongobuji Temple https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g1121341-d324935-Reviews-Kongobu_ji_Temple-Koya_cho_Ito_gun_Wakayama_Prefecture_Kinki.html -

- YouTube
This video, titled "Matsumoto Castle - 松本城 - 4K Ultra HD," was released by "TokyoStreetView - Japan The Beautiful." Unlike other castles in Japan, Matsumoto Castle is not built on a hill or mountain plateau, but on flat ground. Originally built as Fukashi Castle in the Warring States period (1467-1568) by the Shinano Protectorate of Ogasawara City, Matsumoto Castle once fell during the invasion of Takeda City in Kai Province. However, it was later rebuilt and is now one of the most beloved castles in Japan. The castle tower was built by Naomasa Matsudaira, the feudal lord at that time, and it is the only existing national treasure with a moon viewing tower in Japan. Many events are held in the nearby Matsumoto Castle Park throughout the year, so we recommend visiting during these events. -

The Geopark introduced in this video is a park of the earth where you can learn about the long history of the region through geological strata, rocks, and fossils. It's a popular sightseeing spot where you can learn about the history of the birth of Japan to the present on a large scale. In the northern part of Ibaraki, located in Japan's Kanto region, fossils of pterosaur from the Cretaceous Period and ammonites have been found in the mountains, valleys full of autumn leaves, and on the beaches. A Park Where You Can Learn All About the Land and Nature of Japan Source :YouTube screenshot At North Ibaraki Geopark, you can uncover the history of the birth of the Japanese Islands over 500 million years while hiking. Since ancient times, animals and plants have continued to thrive in Japan, and visitors can enjoy exploring and learning about the roots of the Japanese people that were left behind by their ancestors. The oldest section in the North Ibaraki Geopark is the "Hitachi" area. You can see the geology of ancient life (Cambrian, 542 - 251 million years ago) here. The Paleozoic era is said to be the oldest stratum in Japan. These can be seen from 0:33 in the video. Ibaraki Grouped by Strata Source :YouTube screenshot Now, let's break down the major tourist locations and scenic destinations in Ibaraki by geological strata. The first section is the Cambrian era, which is an approximately 500-million-year-old stratum. The oldest stratum in Japan was discover in Hitachi Mine in Hitachi. The second section (approximately 240 million years ago) includes "Hiraiso Beach in Hitachinaka," "Hananuki Gorge in Takahagi," "Mt. Yamizo" (八溝山, Yamamizosan) in Daigo and "Hanazono Gorge" in Kita-Ibaraki, and it is said that the base of the current Japanese archipelago was formed during this period. Strata and fossils from this period can be found at "Izura Coast" in Kita-Ibaraki, "Ryujinkyo" in Hitachiota, "Fukuroda Falls" in Daigo, and the "Joban Coal Mine" in Kita-Ibaraki. These are shown from 2:31 in the video. The fourth section (the present) begins about 2.59 million years ago. This 2.59 million year old stratum can be found at "Oarai Beach" in Oarai, the "Tanagura Fault" in Hitachiomiya, "Omiya Terrace" and the "Taga Mountains" in Hitachiomiya, "Senba Lake" in Mito and the village of "Tokai." Summary of North Ibaraki Geopark Source :YouTube screenshot Geological strata and fossils are important cultural resources that are essential for understanding the history of the earth and Japan. Introducing Tsurugi Shrine This video, titled "[Echizen] Tsurugi Shrine: the birthplace of the Oda family - Tsurugi Shrine, Fukui, JAPAN-" (【越前国二宮】劔神社/織田家発祥の地 -TsurugiI Jinja Shrine in Fukui, JAPAN–), was released by "channel WASABI." Tsurugi Shrine, also known as "Oda Myojin," is located in Echizen, Nyu District, Fukui Prefecture. The area is known as the birthplace of the Oda family, including the famous warlord Oda Nobunaga, and the shrine is highly revered as an "Ujigami.” The History of Tsurugi Shrine Source :YouTube screenshot The origin of Tsurugi Shrine, with a history dating back 1,800 years, goes back to when the god Susanoo was enshrined on the peak of Kuragatake and called "Tsurugidaijin" (劔大神, The Great God of Tsurugi). During the Nara Period (710-794 A.D.), when the shrine was known as a sacred site, Tsurugi Temple (劔神宮寺) was already built. It is also said that the shrine, which enshrines Susanoo-no-Mikoto (素盞嗚大神) and Kehi (氣比大神), was handed over to Prince Oshikuma, the son of Emperor Chuai, during the reign of Empress Jingu. After the Warring States Period (1467-1615 AD~), Tsurugi Shrine was protected and worshipped by the Shiba, Asakura, and Oda clans. The sacred crest of Tsurugi Shrine, which is closely connected to Oda Nobunaga, is the same as the family crest of the Oda family: the Oda Mokko (Flowering quince). Highlights of Tsurugi Shrine Source :YouTube screenshot The temple bell, a national treasure, is the third oldest bell in Japan and is said to have been made in the Nara Period. It is also home to many other temple treasures, including the important cultural property "The Eight Stages of Nirvana on Silk." In the video, you can see the large torii gate, Shinyoko (旧神前院摩堂, a storehouse for portable shrines), the Chozusha (a ritual water station for purifying oneself), and the Hall of Worship (拝殿, haiden) starting at 0:58, as well as the Omokaru Stone (おもかる石, a sacred wishing stone. It is said that if it’s lighter than you expect then your wish will come true. If it is heavier, it will be harder for your wish to come true.) at Komatsutate Isaoshi Shrine (小松建勲神社) and Yakushi Shrine (薬師神社) starting at 3:05 in the video. On the premises of Tsurugi Shrine, we recommend paying attention to the approach to the shrine, as well as checking the monument to the birthplace of the Oda clan, and more. Zuiryuji Temple is a popular sightseeing destination in the city of Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture (previously known as the Kaga Domain), that has been designated a national treasure. The buildings, hallways and gardens are so beautifully crafted calling them works of art wouldn't be inaccurate. We hope you enjoy watching this video and experiencing what it feels like to walk the grounds of Zuiryuji Temple. The History of Zuiryuji Temple Photo:Sanmon gate at Zuiryuji Temple, Toyama Prefecture Zuiryuji Temple was built during the Kamakura period (1185 AD - 1333 AD) by the second generation Kaga domain feudal lord Toshinaga Maeda (前田利長). The three main buildings of the temple: Sanmon Gate (山門), Butsuden (仏殿) and Hodo (法堂)), are built in a straight line (each one behind the other) in a beautiful symmetrical design. The current Sanmon Gate, seen at 0:28 in the video, was once destroyed by fire and rebuilt in the Edo period (1603 AD - 1868 AD). Major repairs were made during the Showa (昭和) and Heisei periods (平成) and Zuiryuji temple was officially registered as a national treasure in 1997. Zuiryuji Temple - An Important Cultural Property of Japan Photo:The main gate of Zuiryuji Temple, Toyama Prefecture Zuiryuji Temple is home to many historical objects of great value, such as the statue of the Gautama Buddha (釈迦如来) in the temple's main hall. The wooden statue of Vidyaraja (the wisdom king in Buddhism) is registered as a Tangible Cultural Property of Japan. During the Edo period, the statue was placed in the bathroom and was said to have the power to bring cleanliness to dirty areas. From 1:12 in the video, you can see the beautiful garden leading towards the main temple building, truly one of the highlights of the video.
