Ginzan Onsen is a nationally known and popular hot spring town located in Obanazawa City, Yamagata Prefecture. On both sides of the Ginzan River, there are unique Western-style 3- to 4-story wooden inns built in the Showa era from the Taisho era, creating a nostalgic landscape.
Ginzan Onsen has a nostalgic atmosphere reminiscent of the setting of the Ghibli movie "Spirited Away".
Spring is the season when wild cherry blossoms are in full bloom and wild vegetables are delicious. The summer climate is easy to spend, and it is recommended to walk to Shirogane Falls while enjoying the chirping of birds and the sound of mountain streams. In autumn, when you can pick autumn leaves, you can also enjoy autumn flavors such as mushroom dishes. In winter, the deep snowy landscape and the streetlights are reflected in orange, further enhancing the fantastic atmosphere. Hot springs in the cold season are exceptional.
