Shinkaku Temple is an ancient temple with a history of more than 1,000 years. Used on a ridge consisting of columnar joints of molten tuff about 15 million years ago, it has a great view and has often been used as a base point for battles. Many rhododendrons are planted in the precincts, and it is crowded with many visitors during the season.
