Iijima Jinya

Iijima Jinya served as the magistrate's office for the shogunate-appointed administrators who governed much of the Inadani Valley under direct Tokugawa rule.
Iijima Town has deep historical roots: during the Edo period it hosted Iijima Jinya, which administered the shogunate lands in the Shinshu Inadani Valley, and in the Meiji era the site was carried over to become the prefectural office of Ina Prefecture, the first prefecture established in Shinshu.
