The other day, I set out to discover a new walking course in the former Toyoda Village area, so I walked from JR Iiyama Line kaesa station to lotus station.
I started at 6 a.m. while the air was still a bit cool, before it got hot. Listening to stories from staff born or living locally, I walked along the Chikuma River, through villages, and along paths surrounded by rice fields. I crossed the newly built Kanakura Kabeta Bridge and also admired it from below. Since I usually only drive over that bridge, the views felt fresh.
Along the way I passed IiyamaLine trains about three times and was reminded how well walking, railways, and scenery go together.
The walk took about three hours including breaks. There are still things to improve, but this looks like a refreshingly pleasant course!
