Hachirogata Lagoon's "Cherry Blossom and Rape Blossom Road"
Hachirogata was reborn as a 17,239-hectare "Land of Hope" in March 1977 after more than 20 years of reclamation work with the aim of alleviating food shortages after World War II.
In 1984, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the village's founding, the villagers planted 3,000 cherry trees in three years, and 1,000 cherry trees in commemoration of the 50th anniversary. Rape blossoms were planted by local volunteers.
"Thanks" for the masterpiece of Somei Yoshino, Yaezakura, Beniyama cherry blossoms and rape blossom road that stretches for about 11 km! !!
