Kawazu cherry blossoms were born from the natural hybrids of the scarlet cherry blossoms and Oshima cherry blossoms mentioned in the previous post. Since it was discovered in Kawazu Town in Shizuoka Prefecture, it was named Kawazu Sakura. The reason why Kawazu cherry blossoms bloom so early is that the early flowering time of the cold scarlet cherry blossoms, which is the source of hybridization, is said to be the early flowering time.
