At three shrines in Isehara City, a grand mamemaki (bean throwing) is held in the precincts. A bean-sowing officer dressed as an event priest lines up on a special stage and scatters lucky beans all at once with shouts. It contains beans and lotteries stored in a baby bag, and local children pick them up with great enthusiasm. At Hibita Shrine, the Oni Yarai Shinto ritual is a highlight.
