Obama Onsen This is an official promotional video of the spa town “Sea, Sunset, and Steam,” produced by the Obama Onsen Tourist Association (Obama means “little beach” in Japanese, and it has no connection to the 44th US president). Obama Onsen is a hot spring resort in Unzen city, Nagasaki Prefecture. Obama possesses many of the “No.1 in Japan” titles when it comes to the onsen's features. But that's not all that makes Obama a popular onsen resort. Fresh foods grown in the rich soil or gathered from the sea, the warm climate year round, the beautiful scenery of the surrounding area.. It has a lot of things to see. If you're traveling to Kyushu we definitely recommend stopping by here. There are a lot of day-visit outdoor onsen in the town that can be casually enjoyed. Having a foot bath while enjoying an amazing view of Mt. Unzen is a great way to relax. Despite the video being less than 2 minutes long, the charms of Obama, including its natural and cultural beauty, the hot springs, and more, are all displayed for your viewing pleasure. You'll be able to see what Unzen city is all about before you make a visit. The Springs of Obama Onsen The quality of the Obama hot springs is sodium chloride. It has the hottest and most active springs in Japan, with some springs getting as hot as 105 degrees. The abundant geothermal energy, combined with the warm climate, makes agriculture one of the main industries in this area. The minerals contained in the Obama hot springs are said to be good for nerve and muscular pains, rheumatism, poor circulation, cuts, hemorrhoids, and skin disease. The video shows the source spring at 0:54. Sightseeing Around Obama Onsen Photo:Obama Onsen foot bath Found at the base of Mt. Unzen, Obama Onsen features about 25 onsen ryokan hotels lined up on the seafront overlooking the Tachibana Bay. There are also 3 public bathhouses where you can enjoy Obama’s famous sunset views while bathing. Obama Marine Park offers a variety of onsen facilities, and the 105m long foot bath, Hot Foot 105, is its main attraction and is said to be the longest foot bath in all of Japan. The view of Shimabara Bay is incredible, and makes for a great Instagram photo. Hot Foot 105, which appears in the video from 0:29, is certainly a must-go tourist location. Obama is also home to cooler carbonated springs. The water can be freely collected at various water collection points in the town and is used by the people in their everyday lives. In addition, the town is also known for its cherry blossoms. Mt. Token is covered in blooming cherry blossoms in March, and has been repeatedly shown on TV programs and featured in magazines. Obama’s cherry blossom landscape is shown in the video from around 1:04. Here you can catch a glimpse of the beauty of spring in Japan. In June, Obama Onsen is adorned with the purple flowers of Jacaranda. Obama Onsen Jacaranda Festa, as well as other events, are held on Jacaranda Street to celebrate the flowers. The Local Specialty of Obama Onsen Photo:Champon A must-try specialty of Obama Onsen is definitely “Obama Champon,” a dish made of noodles, seafood, and vegetables. There are around 20 competing Champon restaurants in the area, and the dish is also served at any type of restaurant or Izakaya (A type of Japanese bar). A special feature of Obama Champon is the light soup containing plenty of sea food. The Champon Map available at hotels, the train station and the tourist office, will help you find these Champon restaurants. The History of Obama Onsen Obama Onsen was first recorded in 713, in the topographic record Hizen Fudoki (Hizen is a former name of the province containing the area), and has been known as a hot-spring health resort since around 1900. It was designated as a National Recreation Onsen in 1962 (An onsen must meet the required conditions to be classified as such). Obama Town Museum of Historical Materials is a good place to learn about the town’s history. Summary of Obama Onsen Photo:Obama Onsen Since the Obama railway line was abolished due to the integration of transport infrastructure, access to Obama Onsen has become slightly inconvenient. This made it a precious hidden gem, with the abandoned railroad track still remaining in the area. There are buses running to Obama Onsen from JR Isahaya Station, and it takes about 55 minutes to get there. We hope that the video and this article have helped you discover the beauty of Obama Onsen. Obama Onsen will treat you well with beautiful natural environment, warm climate, delicious cuisine, and of course, its relaxing hot springs. 【Official Website】Unzen city http://translate.google.co.jp/translate?hl=ja&sl=ja&tl=en&u=http://www.city.unzen.nagasaki.jp/ -

Jigoku Meguri, Located in Beppu Onsen, Oita Prefecture This is an introductory video of Beppu Onsen's Jigoku Meguri, produced by "Japan Explorers." Hot springs are a must when traveling in Japan. Oita prefecture’s Beppu City is popular among tourists from both Japan and overseas as one of the most famous hot spring places. Let’s check out the video about Jigoku Meguri, where you can fully enjoy the greatness of Kyushu's Beppu Onsen. This video introduces the hot springs that are literally called "Hell." Does it really look like hell though? Find out for yourself! What Is Jigoku Meguri? Photo:Oniishibozu hot springs Beppu Onsen's Jigoku Meguri is a sightseeing course where you can visit places called “Hells,” among Oita, Beppu's hot springs. There are 7 hot springs referred to as "Hells": Sea Hell (about 98℃), Oniishi Bozu Hell (about 99℃), Kamado Hell (about 90℃), Oniyama Hell (about 99.1℃), White Pond Hell (about 95℃), Blood Pond Hell (about 78℃), and Tornado Hell (about 105℃). The qualities of each "hell" is different. For example, the Sea Hell contains iron sulfate, creating a bluish color. The blue Sea Hell is introduced in the video at 0:18. The water lily that younger elementary school children can stand on is quite famous. Beyond the gate of Hell lays Blood Pond Hell. This spring contains magnesium oxide turning the mud within it red. The red Blood Pond Hell is introduced in the video at 1:03, and you can see how creepy it is in the video. People used to cook rice using the steam from “Kamado Hell.” Here there are many hot springs spanning several blocks (1 chome- 6 chome). You can eat hot spring eggs cooked using the steam from these springs. The History of Oita Prefecture’s Jigoku Meguri in Beppu City The history of Beppu city’s Jigoku Meguri goes back quite far. There are records that shows these hot springs were called “hells” even during the Edo Period (1603-1868). From the Meiji Period, many villas developed near Beppu Onsen. By this time, the natural hot spring "hells," with their boiling water, had become popular among hot spring visitors, not for bathing, but for sightseeing purposes. On the Jigoku Meguri course, there are spots where you can enjoy a foot bath heated just right, which is perfect for taking a break during your sightseeing. Sightseeing at Oita Prefecture’s Jigoku Meguri at Beppu Onsen Photo:Beppu's hot springs at night At Oita prefecture’s Beppu Onsen area, you can see steam from hot springs rising up from all over the area. Beppu Jigoku Meguri, where you can enjoy the unique landscape of the hot spring area, is a secret sightseeing course perfect for people who want to enjoy relaxing in Japan’s hot springs. Make wonderful memories by checking out the unique landscape of these "hells," a sight you won't find anywhere else. “Blood Pond Medical Cream,” made from the mud of Blood Pond Hell, is said to be good for skin disorders, and we recommended it as a souvenir. Be sure to check it out when you're souvenir hunting! We also recommend taking a bath at the day-use hot spring accommodation “Oniishi no Yu.” The spring's natural minerals are effective against cold sensitivity and aid in recovery from fatigue, so if you're feeling weary, be sure to drop by! Summary of Oita Prefecture’s Jigoku Meguri at Beppu Onsen 5 of the 7 sightseeing spots at the hot springs of Jigoku Meguri can be visited by foot, but Blood Pond Hell and Tornado Hell are located in the Kamegawa Area, which is a little far to walk to. That being said you'll want to use the local transportation, such as buses. Be sure to check out all of the sightseeing spots and enjoy the supreme relaxation that Japan’s hot springs has to offer. The admission tickets that allow you to visit all 7 hells, is sold at 2,000 JPY (~$20 USD) for adults (as of November, 2019). Hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We we're only able to talk about the red and blue hot springs in this article, but the video has a lot more to offer, such as the green and brown hot springs. Origin of the Name of Wakanoura Photo:Tamatsushima Shrine, Wakayama Prefecture Wakanoura (和歌の浦) was originally spelled "若の浦" (same pronunciation, but different kanji), and when Emperor Shomu came on an imperial visit, Yamabe no Akahito, who accompanied him, wrote in the 919th poem of the Manyoshu Vol.6, "When the tide rolls in at Wakanoura, the mud flats disappear, and the cranes cross to where the reeds grow, all the while singing." Also, according to the Shoku Nihongi, the area was called "Wakanohama" (弱浜), but it is also stated that Emperor Shomu changed it to "Akanoura" (明光浦) because of the beauty of the landscape in the sun. It was also loved by Toyotomi Hideyoshi and successive feudal lords of Kishu. During the Nara period (710-794 AD), Emperor Shomu was impressed by the scenery changing every moment due to the ebb and flow of the tide, and it's also a famous fact that he ordered the landscape to be preserved for a long time. The sandbar that stretches across the tidal flat of Wakanoura, separating it from the outside world, is called "Katao Nami" after a famous Waka poem. 2. A Bird's Eye View of Kagoshima This video, titled "Drone Footage of Amazing Islands in Kagoshima, Japan 4K (Ultra HD) - 鹿児島" gives an aerial view of Kagoshima's islands, taken by drone. It was released by "egawauemon." Are you looking for beautiful your next summer getaway? If so, then you came to the right place. In this article, we'll introduce tourist information and travel tips for those traveling to the islands of Kagoshima Prefecture! This video shows aerial views of the remote islands in Kagoshima prefecture, which are overflowing with natural beauty. There are six remote islands introduced in this video: Yakushima, Yoronjima, Tanegashima, Koshikijima, Kakeromajima, and Amami Oshima. The Best Remote Islands to Enjoy Water Sports! If you're looking to enjoy water sports and activities on a remote island in Kagoshima Prefecture, we recommend Yoronjima and Kakeromajima. Yoronjima is an island full of flowers and coral reefs. It has Terasaki Beach, which became famous as a location featured in the movie "Glasses" (めがね), and Yurigahama Beach, a pure white sandy beach that appears only during low tide. The sea is crystal clear, and in the summer months it's crowded with water sports enthusiasts. The main tourist attraction on Kakeromajima is the 300-year-old Indian coral tree trees that line the street near the beach. The bright red flowers on these trees bloom from May to June. There is also the beautiful beach Surihama, which is called the White Village. Water sports are very popular here. It's a small island, about 20 minutes by ferry from Amami Oshima, and the main spots on the island can be visited on a day trip. The Best Remote Islands to Enjoy the Ocean, Mountains and Villages! If you want to enjoy the beauty of the sea, mountains, and countryside of Kagoshima Prefecture, we recommend Koshikijima and Amami Oshima. There are many viewing points, such as a coastline with bizarre rock structures and the ruins of a village from the Edo period. We recommend going for a drive while looking out at the breathtaking scenery. Koshikijima is located just 50 minutes from Sendai Harbor (川内港) by high speed boat, and it's easily accessible from Kagoshima City, so a day trip to the island is possible. Amami Oshima is famous for its beautiful blue waters. The subtropical oceanic climate has led to the emergence of virgin forests, which are home to rare plant and animal species. The island is home to a wealth of rare flora and fauna, and you can even go on a canoeing adventure through a mangrove forest! Special Experience on Kagoshima's Islands If you're looking for a unique experience you wont find anywhere else, then we recommend Yakushima and Tanegashima. Yakushima was registered as a World Heritage Site in 1993, and trekking is very popular here. You can feel the mystical power of Yakushima by walking along popular routes, such as Shiratani Unsui Gorge. Yakushima also has hot springs, and the Hirauchi Kaichu Natural Onsen (hot springs), which emerge from the sea for just two hours before and after low tide, are a tourist attraction not to be missed! Tanegashima is famous as the birthplace of guns in Japan. A visit to Tanegashima Space Center, which sits at the forefront of space research and development, is another experience you don't want to overlook. Once You've Had Your Fill of the Remote Islands, It's Time to Grab a Bite to Eat! After visiting the islands of Kagoshima, you'll want to try some of the delicious food and go sightseeing in the area. There's delicious Berkshire pork, Japanese black (a Japanese cattle breed), and Shochu (Japanese liquor)! In the city center, you can buy souvenirs and enjoy delicious gourmet food, including Kagoshima ramen, satsuma-age (fried fish cakes), and kibinago (Silver-stripe round herring). Kagoshima was the birthplace of Saigo Takamori, and it is also home to many famous samurai residences and more. Take a trip to the area and learn about the history of Kagoshima! Summary of Kagoshima's Remote Islands This video, "Drone Footage of Amazing Islands in Kagoshima, Japan 4K (Ultra HD) - Kagoshima," shows the beautiful scenery of the remote islands of Kagoshima. For those looking to enjoy the natural beauty of Kagoshima's remote islands, be sure to check out the video! -

Please enjoy the video showcasing the natural scenery and colorful flower fields of Hokkaido! The Flower Field of Farm Tomita in Furano, Hokkaido Photo:Farm Tomita flower field “Farm Tomita” is one of the most popular flower fields in Japan with more than 100 years of history. The field will make you think that you've actually come to rainbow. Be sure to check it out in the first half of the video! Enjoy the Natural Scenery of Biei and Furano in Hokkaido We recommend visiting Saika no Sato if you're visiting Furano. All of the islands are abundant with nature and the scenery is unbelievably beautiful. We highly recommend Taketomi island, Ishigaki island, and Miyako island (宮古島, miyakojima). All are fantastic places where you can take part in fun activities, such as banana boating, scuba diving, parasailing, or walking along the sea floor (an activity known as "sea walk" in Japanese). You can take a look at these water activities from 0:15 in the video. Don't they look exciting? Photo:Sefa-Utaki ・Historic sites to visit in Okinawa There are numerous spots in Okinawa steeped in history, such as Sefa-Utaki (斎場御嶽), Shuri Castle (首里城, shurijou)and Choju no mura (長寿の村). We highly recommend visiting Utaki, which is known for being a power spot in Okinawa. It's a very mysterious and fascinating place where people often go to say prayers. Recommended Sightseeing Spots in Okinawa Photo:Churaumi Aquarium There are many spots in Okinawa to enjoy with the whole family, such as Churaumi Aquarium (美ら海水族館) and International Avenue (国際通り) (known in Japanese as Kokusai Dori). It's definitely a place worth visiting if you plan on travelling to Okinawa's main island. Okinawan Cuisine and Souvenirs If you would like to try Okinawan cuisine, we highly recommend ordering some Okinawa Soba (沖縄そば) or Goya Chanpuru (ゴーヤチャンプル). The origin of Kawazu cherry blossoms dates back to 1955, when one of the local townspeople found a tree growing amongst the weeds in his back yard. Back then the trees were called "Komine Sakura," but were renamed to ‘Kawazu Sakura’ in 1974. The Kawazu Sakura is characterized by its large petals and pink color, and when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, a flurry of falling cherry blossoms creates the most beautiful scenery. The Kawazu Cherry Blossom Festival is a popular festival that approximately one million tourists visit every year. People enjoy the festival by taking a walk along the river, or having a picnic in the park while drinking and enjoying food from food stands.
