In the video, you can see the sunset over the Genkai Sea and the Hamanoura Terraced Rice Fields dyed beautifully by the setting sun. The best time to see the spectacular scenery is when the rice fields are filled with water during April and early May. During the daytime, the rice fields are lush with sparkling water, and atsunset, the rice fields change to a lovely shade of orange. As the time passes, you can enjoy a variety of breathtaking views. The Rice Fields of Japan Rice fields, called "tanbo" (田んぼ) in Japanese, are a common sight in Japan, due to rice being the staple food. There are also many different rice fields that are known for their beautiful scenery. Whether it be the Shiroyone Senmaida Rice Fields in Chiba, or the famous rice fields of Aomori and Saitama known for their rice field art, each one has its own unique beauty. When to Visit the Hamanoura Terraced Rice Fields + Sunset Views Photo:The Hamanoura Terraced Rice Fields at sunset, Saga Prefecture The Hamanoura Terraced Rice Fields are located in the northwestern part of the town of Genkai, in Saga Prefecture, in Japan's Kyushu Region, in the lower reaches of the Hamanoura River. Facing the Genkai Sea, the rice fields rise like stairsteps from the shore. The view of the sunset dying the rice fields orange as the surrounding greenery fades into darkness is truly spectacular. The best time to view the sunset and the rice fields is from spring to early summer (April to May). At this time of year, the rice fields are flooded with water for planting. As the setting sun approaches the horizon, the surface of the terraced rice fields and the Genkai Sea reflect its orange glow like a mirror. Where to Take Photos at the Hamanoura Terraced Rice Fields Photo:The Hamanoura Terraced Rice observation deck So then, where's the best place to take photos of the Hamanoura Terraced Rice Fields as they turn orange at sunset? The best place to take photos is the observation deck nearby, which offers a panoramic view of the Hamanoura Terraced Rice Fields. For families, we recommend Genkai Energy Park, which has a large parking lot. Video introduction of Hatsumode at “Kitano Tenmangu Shrine” in Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan This video, titled "Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, Kyoto - The Head Shrine of the 12,000 Tenmangu Shrines in Japan, Dedicated to Sugawara No Michizane, the God of Learning [No. 055]' (京都 初詣 北野天満宮 〜 学問の神様菅原道真公をお祀りする全国12000ある天満宮の総本社、楼門に掲げられた巨大絵馬でご開運を![No.055]), was uploaded by "QUICK GLANCE KYOTO." Kitano Tenmangu Shrine is located in Kamigyo, Kyoto, in Japan's Kansai Region, and is known as the god of learning. Several statues of oxen, which are known to serve as messengers of the god, are located within the shrine precincts. The shrine is also known as one of the most crowded shrines in Kyoto for Hatsumode (the first shrine visit of the New Year). The huge ema (wooden prayer plaque) displayed at the gate is very popular, and some visitors come to the shrine for Hatsumode just to see it. Other highlights of Kitano Tenmangu Shrine include Sankomon Gate, the shrine repository, and the main shrine, which is designated as a National Treasure. Be sure to check out the video of Hatsumode at Kitano Tenmangu Shrine before reading along. Background Information for Kitano Tenmangu Shrine Photo:An ox statue at Kitano Tenmangu Shrine Tenmangu shrines are located throughout Japan and are known as gods of learning to which students pray for success in entrance examinations. The head shrine, Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, was built in the Heian period (794-1185 A.D.) and is dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane. The beautiful main shrine building was donated to the shrine by Toyotomi Hideyori and is designated as a National Treasure. Ishi no Ma, one of the halls at the shrine, and the statues of the fierce gods can be seen during special public viewing periods. The most distinctive feature of Kitano Tenmangu Shrine is the 10 plus statues of oxen that can be seen throughout the shrine. They are believed to be messengers of the god Sugawara no Michizane, who was born on the year of the Ox. It's said that touching the oxen and patting their heads will make you smarter, and petting their bodies will cure illnesses and injuries. Kitano Tenmangu Shrine is also said to bring blessings for the arts and culture and ward off bad luck among other things. At Fudehajime-sai, an event held in the precincts of the shrine, visitors write a kanji on a large sheet of paper with a brush to pray for success in their entrance exams. The shrine also sells shuin stamps bearing plums (the shrine crest), and good luck charms popular among students preparing for entrance exams can be obtained at the shrine office. Also, on the 25th of every month, there's a fair called Tenjin Ichi where shops selling antiques and household goods, as well as food stalls, line the temple grounds, attracting both local Kyoto residents and tourists. Hatsumode at Kitano Tenmangu Shrine – Information on Crowding and Parking! Photo:Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, Kyoto ※Photo taken in 2019 Kitano Tenmangu Shrine is also known as a popular shrine for Hatsumode. On the three days of the Japanese New Year, before the coronavirus pandemic, approximately 500,000 people would visit the shrine, making it the third most visited shrine in Kyoto after Fushimi Inari Grand Shrine and Yasaka Shrine. Therefore, New Year's is expected to be very crowded. During the first three days of the new year, New Year's Day in particular attracts a large number of visitors, so be sure to keep this in mind when visiting. Visiting hours are from New Year's Eve to 9:30 p.m. on New Year's Day, from 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the 2nd, and from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the 3rd. Please refer to this information if you're planning to visit Kitano Tenmangu Shrine for Hatsumode. There are long lines everywhere in the precincts of the shrine, but if there's one thing we recommend seeing when visiting the shrine, it's the giant ema plaque. The giant ema with the year's zodiac sign written on it hangs at Romon Gate. It's a popular photo spot on New Year's, so be sure to take a picture to commemorate your visit. Parking is available at the shrine, but since it can be quite crowded during Hatsumode and there will be traffic restrictions in the area, it's recommended that visitors use public transportation. Kitano Tenmangu Shrine – Plum Blossoms, Autumn Leaves, and Other Seasonal Attractions! Photo:Autumn leaves at Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, Kyoto Kitano Tenmangu Shrine is also a sightseeing spot where beautiful plum blossoms and autumn leaves can be seen in different seasons. As Sugawara Michizane loved plums, Kitano Tenmangu Shrine is also famous for its plum garden. Admission is 1,000 yen for adults and 500 yen for children, and tea cakes are available in the garden. The best time to view the plum blossoms is from mid-January to mid-March, so be sure to stop if you're visiting Kyoto in the spring. In the fall, visitors can enjoy a beautiful view of the main shrine, a National Treasure, and its 350 colored maple trees from the maple garden in the Odoi (an earthen fortification built by the famous warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi). The entrance fee is the same as that for the plum garden, and the beautiful scenery is popular amongst photographers and instagrammers. Kitano Tenmangu Shrine is a shrine full of attractions: Hatsumode, plum blossoms in early spring, fresh greenery in summer, and autumn leaves in fall, and more. You can come to the shrine to pray for academic success as well as to visit it as a sightseeing spot in Kyoto! Summary of Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, Kyoto Kitano Tenmangu Shrine is very crowded during Hatsumode, and visits may take more than two hours. Be sure to take into consideration the time of year and your schedule before visiting the shrine. When visiting Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, we recommend that you stop by the Kitano Tenmangu Shrine teahouse for some tasty Chogoro mochi rice cakes as well. It introduces the breathtakingly beautiful autumn foliage illumination event at Entsuin Temple. A Closer Look at Entsuin Temple – Its History and What Makes It Unique Photo:The garden and mausoleum of Entsuin Temple Entsuin Temple is a temple associated with the Date clan, the feudal lords of Sendai, located in Matsushima, Miyagi, in Japan's Tohoku region, a place known as one of the "Three Views of Japan." Entsuin Temple was built in 1647 by Date Tadamune as the mausoleum of Date Mitsumune, the grandson of Date Masamune. Located in the inner part of the temple grounds is a mausoleum from the early Edo period (~1603-1700 AD) which is designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan. Within the grounds of Entsuin Temple, visitors can enjoy several gardens, including a dry landscape garden that depicts Matsushima, a garden designated as a Cultural Property by the Town of Matsushima, a moss garden that takes advantage of the natural beauty of the inner mausoleum, and a garden mainly featuring roses, created by the temple's head priest. Entsuin temple is located just a few minutes' walk from Zuiganji Temple, and as you pass through the temple gate, you'll see many kokeshi dolls that have been used in marriage ceremonies, and enshrined on the back side of the gate is Enmusubi Kannon. Enmusubi Kannon (the Buddhist goddess Avalokiteshvara depicted as a matchmaker) is said to bring together men and women or those who have never had a chance to be together, and is famous as a power spot for marriage. Thus, Entsuin Temple is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Matsushima, together with Zuiganji Temple, a National Treasure. The Rose Garden at Entsuin Temple Photo:The garden of Entsuin Temple Entsuin Temple is famous not only for its autumn foliage but also for its roses, and is also known as "Bara-ji" or "Rose Temple." The origin of this name is that the oldest Western roses in Japan were brought back by Hasekura Tsunenaga of the Date Clan, who traveled to Europe as an envoy during the Keicho Mission to Europe. As a symbol of his achievement, Entsuin Temple created a garden mainly composed of roses. In addition, roses are painted on the zushi (minature shrine) of the inner mausoleum, which is also designated as an Important Cultural Property. Entsuin Temple is a baroque garden born from a fusion of Buddhism and Christianity. The best time to see the roses is in early June, when the roses in the rose garden are in full bloom. However, bloom times vary according to the variety of rose. Traditional Prayer Bead Making Experiences and More! Buddhist prayer beads, called Juzu (数珠) in Japanese, are important Buddhist ritual objects that are worn during funerals, memorial services, visits to graves, and other occasions when one prays to Buddha. It's said that just by holding them, one can rid themself of misfortune and gain peace and tranquility. In the bead making experience, participants can choose their favorite beads and make their own unique prayer beads. The beads are made of natural stone, plastic, and glass, all of which are used to pray and express gratitude to the deity of Entsuin Temple. The process takes 20 minutes, is relatively simple, and does not require an appointment. Entsuin Temple also has its own original shuin stamp books. The Yakatabune course with a beer garden is growing in popularity, as it allows participants to enjoy viewing the cherry blossoms at night, fireworks, and autumn leaves in the tatami room on the boat. In October 2020, an event called "Sora, Umi, Daichi Tsunagu Minato Fes 2020" (roughly "a port that connects the sky, the sea, and the earth") was held in Tokyo, and it was a great success. The Beautiful Snowscapes of Japan This video, titled "4K Beautiful snow scene in Japan 日本の雪景色 TOP14名所 winter scenery snowscapes snow light tourism trip," was produced by Discover Nippon. Japan is a country where you can enjoy the nature of all four seasons. The Japanese archipelago has a unique vertical topography, which means that in winter, the temperature in Hokkaido, located in the north of the country, can drop below 10 degrees Celsius, while in the subtropical region of Okinawa, it's possible to wear a t-shirt year round. In this article, we'll introduce you to some of the most beautiful snowscapes of winter in Japan alongside a beautiful 4K video! Sightseeing in Tokyo on a Snowy Day When people think of snow in Japan, they generally think of the snowy landscapes of Tohoku and Hokkaido; however, several times a year, snow falls in the capital city of Tokyo as well. The snow brings the city to a halt, making the Imperial Palace and Sensoji Temple, with its low traffic (both human and vehicle), a tasteful, hidden tourist destination. Tokyo's snowy scenery, which can only be seen once or twice a year, is a rare sight. However, transportation is tremendously impeded, so please be cautious when collecting information on traffic and weather forecasts. Places to See Japan's Representative Snowscapes If you're looking for beautiful snowscapes in Japan, then we've got just the list for you: ・Akita Prefecture:Igloos ・Gifu Prefecture:Shirakawa, The Northern Alps ・Hokkaido:Otaru Canal, Sapporo Snow Festival ・Yamagata Prefecture:Ginzan Onsen, The Ice Trees of Zao ・Ishikawa Prefecture:Kenroku-en covered in snow Even if you're not in the Tohoku region, you can still enjoy the spectacular snowscapes of the mountains, and even in the Tohoku region, there's not so much snow on the Pacific side. We recommend the hot springs in the mountains and onsen areas on the Sea of Japan side. Active Snowfall Scenery and Sights to Enjoy There are also plenty of places to enjoy winter sports in Japan. Japan is a popular destination for winter sports, having hosted two Winter Olympics to date. Many of the ski resorts where you can snowboard are located near hot spring resorts, so you can relax after a long day of skiing/snowboarding with delicious food and hot springs. If You're Traveling the Snowscapes of Japan, Hot Spring Tourism Is the Way to Go! Here's a list of hot spring resorts with snowy landscapes and winter sports: ・Nagano Prefecture has a great view of the Northern Alps and popular hot springs and ski resorts such as Hakuba. ・Niigata Prefecture is famous for its snow, hot springs and delicious seafood. ・Hokkaido is a paradise of hot springs, where many foreign tourists come to enjoy the large scale resort hotels with ski slopes. After skiing and snowboarding, you can replenish your stamina with Ghengis Khan (Jingisukan), a Japanese lamb dish. ・After skiing, you can enjoy playing in the snow in an igloo and relaxing in hot springs in Akita Prefecture. Kiritanpo hot pot is the specialty in this area! All of these are great places to visit, so find which one suits you best! Hokkaido and Nagano Prefecture are the host cities of the Winter Olympics, so it's safe to say that they're the Meccas of winter sports in Japan. Sightseeing at Temples and Shrines Where You Can Enjoy the Majestic Snowy Scenery Here are some temples and shrines we recommend checking out: ・Yamadera (Yamagata Prefecture): Yamadera, also known in children's songs, is a famous temple located in Yamagata Prefecture. ・Chuson-ji Temple (Iwate Prefecture): Chuson-ji is a World Heritage Site! The beauty of Konjikido with a snowy landscape is unbeatable. ・Iwakiyama Shrine (Aomori Prefecture): Iwakiyama Shrine, located on Mt. Iwaki, which is often mentioned in songs, is an Important Cultural Property of Japan and is the setting for Sansho the Bailiff. ・Towada Shrine (Aomori, Japan): A historical shrine with a lake with a beautiful emerald green surface. The contrast between the snowy winter landscape and the lake is like a beautiful painting. Summary of the Snowscapes of Japan Winters in snowy countries can be hard in terms of climate, but the beautiful, ink-painting-like world created by the snow that covers Japan's beautiful natural landscape is well worth seeing. Enjoy Japan's snowy landscape in the beautiful 4K video. -

Fuji, "Oshinohakkai" in Minamitsuru-gun, Yamanashi Prefecture - Sightseeing Video Introduction This video, titled "Yamanashi Oshino Hakkai - 忍野八海 - 4K Ultra HD," was released by "TokyoStreetView-Japan The Beautiful." It introduces the scenery of Oshino Hakkai in Oshino Village, Minamitsuru District, Yamanashi Prefecture. Oshino Hakkai is a spot where the snowmelt of Mt. Fuji is filtered underground forming 8 springs. Oshino Hakkai, which allows you to feel the magnificent natural beauty of Japan, is designated as a World Heritage Site, as well as a nationally designated natural monument, one of Japan's Top 100 Spring Waters, one of the Top 100 New Views of Mt. Fuji, and one of the Top 100 Prefectural Views of Mt. Fuji. Exploring the History of Oshino Hakkai Photo:Yamanashi Prefecture, Oshino Hakkai & Mt. Fuji Oshino Hakkai, located near Lake Yamanaka at the northern foot of Mt. Fuji, is a general term for the 8 springs there: Deguchi-ike Pond, Sokonashi-ike Pond, Okama-ike Pond, Choshi-ike Pond, Waku-ike Pond, Nigori-ike Pond, Kagami-ike Pond, and Ayame-ike Pond. Originally, there was a large lake at the northern foot of Mt. Fuji and there is a legend that this lake was later divided into Lake Yamanaka and Oshino Hakkai. Mt. Fuji garnered faith as a historic spiritual site during the Edo Period. It's said that in the past, believers of the Mt. Fuji faith would cleanse themselves in the waters of Oshino Hakkai and then ascend Mt. Fuji. Oshino Hakkai - A Sightseeing Destination With Beautiful Scenery Photo:Yamanashi Prefecture, Chuike Pond Oshino Hakkai is an excellent location where you can fully enjoy the grandeur of nature. As shown at 2:47 in the video, you can enjoy the beautiful Instagrammable scenery, especially when the leaves begin to change color and the surroundings are dyed in vivid shades of red and orange. The clear springs are so beautiful that, as it is shown from 1:03 in the video, you can clearly see the carp swimming in the water. Due to its mysterious scenic beauty, in recent years it has been garnering attention from tourists as a power spot along with Mt. Fuji. Also, as you can see from 2:04 in the video, old fashioned houses are lined up around the perimeter of Oshino Hakkai. It's a rustic, yet luxurious atmosphere that you can't experience in big cities like Tokyo. Tourist Information Around Oshino Hakkai Photo:Yamanashi Prefecture, World Heritage Site Oshino Hakkai There are many souvenir shops and restaurants around Oshino Hakkai. After going sightseeing around Oshino Hakkai, we highly recommend trying some of the delicious food in the area, such as soba and udon, the specialties of Oshino Village, at an old fashioned home-style restaurant where you can experience the atmosphere of a Japan long past. If you're sightseeing in the Fuji-Yoshida area of Yamanashi Prefecture, using the Oshino Hakkai parking lot or the parking lot near Shibokusa Sengen Shrine is very convenient. Summary of Oshino Hakkai Photo:Yamanashi Prefecture, Oshino Hakkai & Mt. Fuji The video introduces the beautiful Mt. Fuji and the breathtaking scenery of the surrounding area. If you're headed out sightseeing to Mt. Fuji, a sacred mountain of Japan, you don't want to miss Oshino Hakkai when you visit Lake Yamanaka and the Fuji Five Lakes. ◆Oshino Hakkai|Facility Overview◆ 【Address】Shibokusa, Oshino Village, Minamitsuru County, Yamanashi Prefecture 【Access】Approximately 20 minutes from the Lake Kawaguchi I.C.
