It is Sorino Falls (vertical composition) in Hachimantai in Iwate Prefecture. Hachimantai is a 1,614 m high mountain and surrounding plateau that straddles Akita and Iwate prefectures. It is included in Hisaya Fukada's Japan 100 Famous Mountains, and this mountain area is designated as Towada-Hachimantai National Park.
Sorino Falls is located on the east side of the Oba Valley, about 2 km away. It is a waterfall located in the Kumazawa River system (Nakanosawa), which originates from Mt. Akitayake, and has a drop of 25 meters, showing a particularly beautiful scenery during the autumn foliage season. The rocks that form this waterfall are called andesite, which is one of the igneous rocks. It's not that far away, so why don't you try it lightly? However, since it is a normal mountain road on the way, sneakers, boots, and mountaineering boots are recommended.
