津別峠｜弟子屈を楽しむ｜弟子屈なび｜北海道弟子屈町
屈斜路湖の周りにある4つの峠のうち、最も標高の高いのが津別峠。 道幅はとても狭く、急峻な山道をくねくねと登っていくような峠は、カーブを曲がるごとに新しい風景が広がり、進んでいくだけでもワクワクします。 峠を登り、さらに分岐した林道を2.5kmほど登ったところには、標高947mの津別峠展望台があります。まるで中世ヨーロッパの古城を思わせるような外観の展望台から望むのは、360度の大パノラマ。雄大な屈斜路湖と、遥かかなたに広がるオホーツク海、阿寒の峰々の美しき稜線など、異国の地へ来たかのような絶景が広がります。 また、春から秋にかけてのこの峠は、雲海の広がる名所としても知られています。屈斜路湖を覆いつくす雲の海が一面に広がり、夜明けとともに朝陽に赤く染まっていく様はとても荘厳。心に残る絶景をカメラに収めようと、全国からカメラマンが集まるのもうなずけます。 ※峠は11月～5月下旬まで冬季通行止めとなり、展望台へ行くことはできません。また、開通時も大型バスの通行はできません。
