From Saturday, July 19th, ten beaches in the city will open in sequence.✨ Shimoda offers a variety of distinctive beaches—from Sotoura Beach and Nabedahama, popular with families, to Tatadohama and Shirahama Ohama, favored by surfers—so you’re sure to find the perfect beach for you.👀✨🏖️ The swimming status of each beach will be updated on the Shimoda City Tourism Association website from July 19th.🌊 We do not provide advance forecasts about whether beaches will be open for swimming. Decisions are made based on the day’s sea conditions, such as weather, wave height, and wind strength. Therefore, swimming permissions may change during the day as conditions change, switching from allowed to prohibited or vice versa.
