It is a valuable video that shows us the state and production process of the workshop that makes the world-class precision watches "Grand Seiko." The commitment of these Watchmaker's cannot be overlooked! The Japanese Micro-Artist Studio Behind Grand Seiko Watches Source :YouTube screenshot Seiko Epson's Shiojiri office in the Koshinetsu region and the Suwa region of Nagano prefecture, introduced in this video, was established with the aim of inheriting the techniques of the watchmaker "Micro Artist Studio." "Every one must be beautiful," says watchmaker Yoshifusa Nakazawa, a watch assembler who continues to produce watches in this studio (0:50 in the video). Mr. Nakazawa has been active as a watch assembler since joining the company in 1978, and in 1981 won the World Skills Competition in Japan. In this workshop, the assembly of the movement (the part that controls the driving of the wristwatch), the installation of the dial, and the case insertion are all performed consistently, so that steps such as maintenance and overhaul can be easily performed. From 1:06 of the video, you can see how precisely each watch is assembled, sometimes using a microscope. What Is Grand Seiko's Original Mechanism the "Spring Drive"!? Source :YouTube screenshot The mechanism “spring drive” mounted on Grand Seiko, which can be seen from 2:51 in the video, is said to be a third engine that combines machinery and quartz. It has a history of 20 years as a model symbolizing the Grand Seiko brand. The model called "44GS" established the design of Seiko style in 1967. It lists three policies, which are as follows: 1. Design consisting of a plane and quadratic surface, with a plane as the main body. Cubic surfaces are not used in principle. 2. Increase the area of the flat surface as much as possible over all cases, dials and hands. 3. In principle, each surface is a mirror surface, and distortion from each mirror surface is minimized as much as possible. Based on this policy, the 44GS was designed with nine features. This Seiko style is designed to spice up the beauty of Japan. It considers the "light" of Japanese people, and those who hold it can feel the beauty of the Japanese in its undistorted, flat planes. Grand Seiko can be called a work packed with the aesthetic sense of Japan. Master Shops Where You Can Buy Limited Items From Grand Seiko Photo:SEIKO The Grand Seiko Master Shops refer to about 140 shops in Japan that have signed a contract with Seiko, and there are several types of limited models sold only to that master shop. In addition, you can apply for battery replacement from the official website, so please check it out. Of course, Grand Seiko can also be purchased online. Summary of the Popular Japanese Watch Grand Seiko Source :YouTube screenshot Japan's proud Grand Seiko watches have a high reputation in Japan and around the world as watches with a history and ideology. At the end of the video, Nakazawa says, "I imagine that those who use Grand Seiko watches will hand them over to the next generation and pass them on." Why not get your own watch? Heisenji Hakusan Shrine in Fukui: Video Introduction This video, titled "【Fukui/Famous Tourist Attractions】Heisenji Hakusan Shrine - A Temple Covered in Moss - Heisenji Hakusan Shrine in FUKUI, JAPAN -" (【福井/観光名所】平泉寺白山神社/青苔が広がる苔の宮 - Heisenji Hakusan Jinja in FUKUI, JAPAN -), was uploaded by "channel WASABI." This video shows you the charms and history of Heisenji Hakusan Shrine with a video tour through its moss-covered cobblestone paths. Please enjoy the 7-minute video showing the solemn atmosphere of Heisenji Hakusan Shrine. Heisenji Hakusan Shrine: The History of the Shrine & the Deities Worshipped There Photo:Heisenji Hakusan Shrine, Katsuyama, Fukui Heisenji Hakusan Shrine is located in Katsuyama, Fukui, in Japan's Koshinetsu region. Its history dates back to 717 AD, during the Nara Period (710-794 AD). The shrine is the predecessor of Heisenji Temple and was founded by the monk Taicho Taishi. Later, it became a branch temple of Enryakuji Temple on Mt. Hieizan, and as the base of mountain worship in the Echizen Province, it boasted such prosperity that it had 48 shrines, 36 halls, and 6,000 monasteries. However, it was burned down during a civil rebellion in the Sengoku Period (1467-1615 AD). Moreover, Heisenji was banned during the Meiji Period as part of an order to separate Shintoism and Buddhism. Later, Hakusan Shrine was built on the site and became the current "Heisenji Hakusan Shrine." Located within the specially designated Hakusan National Park area, the site is a well-known tourist attraction in Fukui Prefecture, and is designated as a National Historic Site under "Former Precincts of Hakusan Heisenji Temple." Heisenji Hakusan Shrine is dedicated to the oldest goddess of well-being for couples, Izanami no Mikoto. In Japanese mythology, she is the creator of the Japanese continent and other gods in Japan and is considered the greatest god among them. It is believed that she blesses the well-being of couples, families, and future generations. In this vast area, many ruins have been discovered, though only a few have been studied. As researchers dig deeper, they discover more and more artifacts, such as cobbles and items from the schools of monks from medieval Japan. It's believed that there are still many more hidden treasures beneath the ground. The Best Seasons to Visit to See the Beautiful Mossy Temple Photo:Heisenji Hakusan Shrine, Katsuyama, Fukui Heisenji Hakusan Shrine is famous as a moss temple. From the cedar grove, to the boundary stones along the approach to the shrine, to the stone pavement leading to the hall of worship, the spacious shrine grounds are covered in beautiful green moss. The best time to view the approximately 100 varieties of moss is during Japan's rainy season from June to July. During this season, when the mosses are even more beautiful, it can feel as if you've wandered into another world. Spring brings fresh greenery, while in early summer the heavenly water-laden mosses shine even brighter. Autumn brings colorful foliage, and winter brings snowy landscapes. The contrast of the four seasons at Heisenji Hakusan Shrine is so incredible that it's hard to believe such beauty was created by nature. Heisenji Hakusan Shrine is the northern center of worship for Mt. Hakusan and is a popular power spot. If someone is available at the shrine office, have a goshuin stamp put directly into your stamp book if you're collecting them. Beautiful Echizen washi (Japanese paper) is used for the goshuin stamps. Attractions at Heisenji Hakusan Shrine Photo:Heisenji Hakusan Shrine, Katsuyama, Fukui There is much more to see at Heisenji Hakusan Shrine than just moss, and while the time required for a visit varies depending on how you choose to tour the grounds, it generally takes between 30 minutes and 2 hours. A Spectacular View of Japan That Amazes People Around the World! Mt. Fuji, Cherry Blossoms, and the Five-Story Pagoda at Arakurayama Sengen Park, Yamanashi!

Chureito - The Five-story Pagoda at Arakurayama Sengen Park in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi This video, titled "The Cherry Blossoms of Chureito Pagoda - Yamanashi - Chureito - 4K Ultra HD" (The Cherry Blossoms of Chureito Pagoda - Yamanashi - 忠霊塔 - 4K Ultra HD), was released by "Tokyo Street View --Japan The Beautiful." Mt. Fuji, cherry blossoms, and shrines and temples are just some of the things that come to mind when one imagines Japan. This video, shot in 4K Ultra HD, is brimming with the beauty of Japan! The atmosphere and beauty will have you feeling like you're visiting Arakurayama Sengen Park's Chureito Pagoda to go see Mt. Fuji and the surrounding cherry blossoms yourself! Not only is it beautiful, but the Yoshino cherries and Chureito Pagoda also have a melancholy history, and we'll explain that as well... The video starts with a breathtaking view of Chureito, the five-storied pagoda with a beautiful vermilion coating, but what lies here is a cenotaph that honors and enshrines the remains of those who perished in previous wars. There are approximately 650 yoshino cherries planted around Chureito Pagoda in Arakurayama Sengen Park. The cherry blossom is a beautiful flower that symbolizes not only Japan, but also war. In other words, the Chureito Pagoda and the yoshino cherries are meant to be memorials and flowers for the spirits of the dead. The official name of Chureito Pagoda is "Fujiyoshida Cenotaph Monument," which means that it is not a general shrine or temple, but a memorial Pagoda owned by the city. (Chureito Pagoda is, however, erected on the premises of Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine) A Sightseeing Spot Representing Yamanashi Prefecture Photo:Arakurayama Sengen Park Chureito in Arakurayama Sengen Park, located in Fujiyoshida City, Yamanashi Prefecture, is a tourist destination that represents Yamanashi Prefecture and is visited by many tourists every year. Just by watching the video, it isn't hard to understand why. It's a culmination of the beautiful scenery that symbolizes Japan, condensed into one location. Also, when climbing the 398 steps leading to the observation deck of Arakurayama Sengen Park, you'll find "the place where Mt. Fuji looks most beautiful." Selected as one of the "One Hundred Views of Mount Fuji" and featured on the cover of the 4th edition of "Michelin Green Guide Japan," it is one of the most famous places to see beautiful scenery, both in Japan and overseas. It has become explosively popular in the last few years, especially with visitors from Thailand. It has been worshiped as a sacred place, and many Thai people have come to Japan to see this scenery with their own eyes. On the grounds of Arakurayama Sengen Park and on the grounds of Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine, there are promenades surrounded by tree, including cherry blossoms, pine trees, cypresses, and zelkovas, as well as hiking trails with small pavilions. Many tourists come to enjoy the autumn leaves here in the fall. During the cherry blossom festival, events are held on stages, there are booths featuring delicious local cuisine, and the Arakurayama Sengen Park area is shrouded in a gorgeous atmosphere. In order to enjoy the night views of the cherry blossoms and Chureito Pagoda, live cameras are installed in the area so guests visiting via the internet can enjoy them as well. Also, winter is expected to be quite crowded with worshippers coming to celebrate hatsuhinode, the first sunrise of the year, so it's best to check visiting information online before heading out to the shrine. Summary of Arakurayama Sengen Park Photo:Arakurayama Sengen Park Shimizu Port in Shizuoka Prefecture is also famous for its view of Mt. Fuji, but the best place to enjoy the traditional Japanese beauty of cherry blossoms and a vermillion-colored pagoda along with Mt. Fuji is, without a doubt, Arakurayama Sengen Park and Chureito Pagoda. Information on transportation access to Arakurayama Sengen Park and free parking (up to 96 standard vehicles) can be found on the official Fujiyoshida City Tourism Guide website. The road to the free parking lot may be closed, especially during winter, so be sure to check the information on the website before visiting. 【Official Website】Arakurayama Sengen Park・Chureito Pagoda – Fujiyoshida City Tourism Guide https://fujiyoshida.net/en/see-and-do/12 【TripAdvisor】Chureito Pagoda https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g739128-d15113628-Reviews-Churei_Tower-Gotemba_Shizuoka_Prefecture_Tokai_Chubu.html -

Odairajuku - A Scenic Post Town From Japan's Edo Period. Explore the History of Japan at the Location Now Used as an Accommodation Facility!

Odairajuku in Nagano The video in this article is titled "[Odairajuku] Nagano Prefecture, Where the Streets of the Edo Period Remain" (江戸時代の町並みが残る長野県「大平宿」). It was produced by "Hirokun kiko." The video will have you feeling as though you've been transported back to the Edo period. Odairajuku is located in Iida (飯田市:Iida shi ), Nagano. Let’s take a look at what Odairajuku is! Why Odairajuku Was Made in Nagano Source :YouTube screenshot Odairajuku was a post town in the middle of Odaira road (大平街道: Odaira kaido) that connects between Nakasendo (中山道:Nakasendo) and Sanshu road (三州街道:Sanshu kaido). The history of this area began when Okura Goheiji, a woodworker who processed and manufactured bowls and trays, and Yamadaya Shinshichi, a grain merchant, moved here in 1754. As you can see in the video, many old buildings from the late edo and Meiji periods still exist in this area. The Kiso Range (木曽山脈:Kiso sanmyaku) is located between Ina Valley (伊那谷: Inadani) and Kiso Valley (木曽谷: Kisodani), and the only way to get to Naraijuku used to be via the Gonbei Route (権兵衛街道:Gonbei kaido). The Odaira Kaido was reclaimed at the permission of the Iida Domain in the mid-Edo period in order to connect Tsumago-juku to Nakasendo. The Decline of Odairajuku Source :YouTube screenshot After the opening of Odaira Kaido, Odairajuku it flourished as tea town where worshippers of Motozenkoji temple (元善光寺:Motozenkoji) stopped by to pay their respects. In the Meiji period, Odaira No.3 Elementary school and the Odaira Post Office were established. At the end of the Meiji Period, it became a key distribution center after the opening of the Chuo Main Line. (中央本線:Chuo Honsen). However, the number of people using Odairajuku declined with the opening of Route 265 over Seinaiji pass (清内路峠: Seinaiji touge) in Seinaiji Village, and the decline of the forestry industry during the Showa Period. In the Heisei period, Maezawa-so and other buildings were also destroyed by a large fire. Odairajuku Today Source :Odairajuku|Stay at an old folk house in the Edo period As shown in the video at 1:47, the residents of Odairajuku decided to emigrate en masse in 1970. After the village was abandoned, Odairajuku was reborn as "Irori no Sato," a place where tourists can experience the natural scenery of Japan. Today, thanks to the management of the NPO Odairajuku Preservation Society and Minami Shinshu Tourism, Odairajuku's Marusanso is still used as an accommodation facility. The purpose of using the village as an accommodation facility is to reclaim and preserve this valuable property. This is different from the general accommodation. Unlike a typical lodging facility, residents prepare their own meals using wood and charcoal from the irori fireplace, and clean up when they leave. Fishing and nature experience events are also occasionally held at Odairajuku. There is also a hot spring and a hotel for tourists in the area. The video shows a variety of old houses that are partly dilapidated, but offer a glimpse at life in Japan at the time. Summary of Odairajuku Source :YouTube screenshot The area around Odairajuku is a popular tourist destination, cool and refreshing in the summer and snowy in the winter. You may be able to take some awesome Instagram pictures in the area, so don't forget to bring your camera with you! If you want enjoy some traditional mountain village atmosphere, then look no further than Odairajuku! ◆Odairajuku General Information◆ 【Address】7929 KamiIida Iida-shi Nagano 395-0045 【Access】60 minutes by car from the Iida Interchange on the Chuo Expressway. -

Ofune Matsuri (festival) is held at Hotaka Shrine in Azumino, Nagano, in Japan's Koshin'etsu Region. The video shows how the entire community, from children to adults, work together during Ofune Matsuri. Ofune Matsuri, a Historic Festival Dating Back 1,500 Years Source :YouTube screenshot Ofune Matsuri, designated as an Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Nagano Prefecture, is a festival held annually from September 26 to September 27 at Hotaka Shrine in Azumino, Nagano. The origin of Ofune Matsuri dates back to the 6th century A.D. The festival celebrates the history of the migration and settlement of the Azumi people, the ancestors of both the seafaring tribes of Kyushu and the people living in present-day Azumino City. It's also said to be an event to mourn the death of Azumi no Hirafu, who is said to have died as a general in the Battle of Baekgang. A total of five floats are used during the festival, including six-meter-tall adult boats and slightly smaller children's boats. The floats are shaped like ships in reference to the migration of the seafaring people, and the floats are decorated with handmade Hotaka dolls depicting various aspects of history. [Video] 0:01 - Hotaka Dolls The floats carrying the Hotaka dolls, which have been passed down by the people of Azumino, are pulled through each town and then converge at Hotaka Shrine. The crowd goes wild as the two "adult" floats, clash violently with each other to the accompaniment of music performed by children from the community, making this one of the highlights of Ofune Matsuri. [Video] 0:37 - A Clash of Floats to the Sound of Music Deities and Other Information For Hotaka Shrine Photo:Hotaka Shrine, Azumino, Nagano The deities enshrined at Hotaka Shrine are Watatsumi no Mikoto, the god of the sea; Hotakami no Mikoto, the ancestor of the Azumi people and son of Watatsumi no Mikoto; and Ninigi no Mikoto, the grandson of Amaterasu no Mikoto. The shrine is dedicated to several dignified deities and is believed to bring good fortune, business prosperity, traffic safety, success in academic studies, and marital bliss, and many good luck charms can be purchased at the shrine. Also, on the grounds of Hotaka Shrine is the largest stainless steel Dosojin (guardian deity of travelers) of health and longevity in Japan, which was constructed in 2013 to commemorate Nagano Prefecture's recognition as the prefecture with the longest life expectancy in Japan and is said to bring blessings of health and longevity and good luck in marriage. Shuin stamps are available at the main shrine of Hotaka Shrine from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily. In addition, limited edition shuin stamps are distributed during New Year holidays, the Bokusho Festival, and the annual festival, so if you're collector, consider visiting the shrine during these times. If you visit the Mine-miya (shrine located on a peak), you can also receive a special shuin stamp. Explore Hotaka Shrine at Myojin Pond – A Power Spot Surrounded by Nature Photo:The inner shrine of Hotaka Shrine, Azumino, Nagano The inner shrine of Hotaka Shrine is located at the foot of Mt. Myojin, an hour's walk from Kappa Bridge (Kappabashi Bridge) at Kamikochi. An inner shrine, "okumiya" in Japanese, is a shrine located at the top or middle of a mountain when a particular shrine has several smaller shrines. Myojin Pond near the shrine is said to be a sacred place where prayers for rain have been held since ancient times. On October 8 each year, a festival is held to pray for the safety of hikers and to express gratitude to the mountains by taking two boats around Myojin Pond. Myojin Pond does not freeze over in the winter due to springs and underground water. It is also called "Kagami-ike" (mirror pond) because of this, and its calm surface reflects the natural beauty of the area throughout the year. There is a 300 yen entrance fee to visit Myojin Pond. A Bamboo Lantern Festival, Wind Chime Festival, and Other Events at Hotaka Shrine Photo:The bamboo lantern festival at Hotaka Shrine, Azumino, Nagano In addition to Ofune Matsuri, Hotaka Shrine also hosts a variety of other seasonal events. Every year on a weekend in December, a lantern festival called "Kamiakari" is held for several weeks at night. Approximately 10,000 bamboo lanterns are lined up, creating a mysterious atmosphere in the shrine grounds. If you come with a candle lighter (utility lighter) by the designated time, you may be able to participate in the lighting ceremony. Azumino, Nagano is known as a summer resort in Japan. Every year in July and August, a wind chime festival is held at Hotaka Shrine. Wind chimes of various shapes and colors are decorated with strips of paper with wishes attached to them, and the cool sounds of the wind chimes are played under the eaves of the Kagura Hall (Shinto music and dancing hall) in front of the main shrine building. This Origin of Festivals in Japan Photo:People carrying a portable shrine at a festival The Japanese word "matsuri" (祭り), meaning "festival," comes from the word "matsuru" (祀る), which means "to give thanks to the gods." Festivals in Japan can be traced back to Japanese creation myths and Shinto gods, such as Amaterasu, the sun goddess. During the Heian Period (794-1185 AD), portable shrines became common in festivals, which allowed the gods to leave from the shrines and go into town where the people were. Today, there are many festivals throughout the year in Japan, including summer festivals full of fireworks and more. Nagano Prefecture’s Famous Cherry Blossom Wonderland, Rokudo Bank! This video, titled "[ 4K UltraHD ] 六道堤の桜 - Cherry Blossoms at Rokudo Bank - (shot on Samsung NX1)," was created by "AQUA Geo Graphic." This three-minute video captures a stunning view of the sea of cherry blossoms at Rokudo Bank Normally, when thinking of the Koshinetsu region or the Nanshin region of Nagano Prefecture (甲信越地方・長野県南信地方, koshinetsu chiho・nagano-ken nanshin chiho), the area best known for cherry blossoms would be Takato Castle Ruins Park (高遠城址公園, takato joshi koen). This park is one of the three great cherry blossom spots in Japan, known for having "the best cherry blossoms under the heavens." However, another special spot, known only to locals, exists in Ina City (伊那市, ina-shi). Enjoy the beautiful cherry blossom viewing spots of Nagano Prefecture in the video. Rokudo Bank, Nagano Prefecture Photo:Cherry blossoms at Rokudo Bank Rokudo Bank is just 10 minutes from Takato Castle Park by car. Though a hidden spot, it's known to have cherry blossoms every bit as beautiful as those in the main park. The snow-tipped peaks of the Kiso Mountains can be seen from 0:36 to 1:55 in the video. Because Ina City in Nagano Prefecture is at a high elevation and surrounded by mountains, the cherry blossom season tends to be a bit late, but cherry blossoms are usually at their best from early to mid-April. The Cherry Blossoms of Rokudo Bank Photo:Cherry blossoms at Rokudo Bank The reservoir is surrounded by approximately 120 takato-okuhigan cherry trees. The sight of the sea of cherry blossoms in full bloom stretching as far as the eye can see is nothing short of breathtaking. On days when the weather is nice, the cherry blossoms are reflected on the surfaces of the water, creating a dream-like scenery. Definitely take some pictures to post on your Instagram! You can see this beautiful scenery in the video as well. As seen at the beginning of the video, there is a little island of red pines in the middle of the reservoir. This adds to the Japan-esque scenery. You can also see two cute ducks swimming peacefully through the cherry blossoms at 1:23 in the video. In addition to the full bloom period, another great time to visit is when the cherry blossoms began to scatter with the wind as the season begins to end. Summary of Rokudo Bank Photo:Cherry blossoms at Rokudo Bank In this article, we introduced Nagano prefecture’s hidden gem- the cherry blossoms of Rokudo Bank. This place is loved dearly by locals for its beautiful scenery. Of course, the historical Takato Castle Park is known for its stunning cherry blossoms as well.
