He was known in his youth as Toraichi and Minamoto Ichirō, later adopting the name Rihei. He served the Kaga Maeda clan and worked on both the metalwork and financial aspects of the clan, contributing to the development of the Kaga Gotō School. After the death of the eighth generation Sokujo, his son the tenth generation Renjō was still young, so Teijō became the ninth generation and served as Renjō's guardian, a position similar to that of his father Kenjō. This piece is a Kozuka with a tiger and leopard motif crafted by Teijō and perfected by the fifteenth generation Mitsuyoshi of the Gotō family. As expected from Teijō, the work on the tiger and leopard is meticulous, showcasing excellent chiseling techniques.
