Description
Arai Tatsujiro was a disciple of Omori Terutoki and excelled in high carving of the Yokoya-style red-copper fish. The Omori School is a prestigious lineage in the Yokoya style, alongside the Ishiguro and Yanagawa schools, founded by Eisho, who trained under Yokoya Somin, and flourished with the second generation, Omori Teruhide. Many disciples emerged from this lineage, including Tatsujiro.
This piece also features a high carving of an Ise lobster on a Yokoya-style red-copper fish base, showcasing impressive power and high skill.
