The waters at Bansei Onsen are highly concentrated iodine springs, among the strongest in Japan. Iodine is found in mouthwash, dietary supplements, and antiseptics, and is said to have antibacterial and moisturizing effects. The hot water is also praised for keeping the body warm for a long time and for making it hard to catch a chill after bathing. Spend the New Year healthy by taking a bath at Bansei Onsen!
