Kogenji Temple has been a temple of the Jodo Shinshu Honganji sect for 426 years.
The Main Hall was lost in the Seinan War in Meiji 10.
The ceiling dragon of the current Main Hall was created for the purpose of reproducing the cloud dragon diagram that was said to have been on the ceiling of the Main Hall.

At 11 meters wide and 8 meters long, with a total weight of 800 kg, it is one of the largest in Japan, and there is no other example of a sculpture and painting overlapping and painting.
